panda 2 things 1 let wood grow throught the floor so you can get wood inside your house 2 if you have lava make some blocks of glass and put lava in them it's allot brighter than torches

Best idea ever for the lighting: put lava on top of the house, and let it pour down into a moat that surrounds the tree house. (man do I love my random ideas sometimes) :)

@Badfatstorymode : If you want to put torches in your house, make those half steps and put them in the corners so you can put the torches on top. That way it won't be to intrusive but will light it up great!

I built my house today :) It's in the side of a cliff and the entire side of the house is glass and i created a waterfall that runs over the glass. I thinks its the definition of bad ass :D

from watching these videos i didnt think that iron or coal was very common until i bought the game and found a mineshaft, in which i gathered 1.5 stacks of iron and 6 stacks of coal in one exploration into the cave

@iiSoulSteelerz I don't think you can put torches on glass, I could be wrong though. However, I think a pretty cool alternative would be if he lighted up his house with lava by putting in some lava inbetween glass blocks.

As for putting blocks in the corner ,that would work, but I don't think BFP would want to do that because it would take away from the aesthetics of his "epic tree house of pimpdom" lol. Again though, I could be wrong, it's just a guess.
