@MrJamesthecatholic. The prodigal son in Lk 15:24 was lost, an unbeliever, but he was born again when the Holy Spirit turned him around and brought him to the heavenly Father. Jesus said we are first born of the flesh from our parents but we are born again by the Holy Spirit when we believe in Jesus' blood sacrifice. Even when we are born again we can sin but we have an advocate in Jesus who is there to forgive us, not saying that we can live how we please as long as we are forgiven.

Wouldnt that be more effective than you praying alone for that cause ? Especially since we are told to pray for one another. Now if you ask "what if I dont ask mama to pray for me ?" - you can still pray to Jesus and you should... but you loose out on the graces that would have come should your mom also prayed for you... same thing with Mary.. except that she is not only your mom and mine - but also the Lords.
The Church doesnt teach - nor is it true that Mary can by herself answer anything for us - she is not divine or God. But she can intercede for us - and being our Lord's mom - she is a powerful intercessor.
Imagine this analogy... you are going to be condemned to death by a judge.. you can plead for his mercy.. but how much more effective would it be if the judge's mom pleads for you - especially when he is just waiting for her to ask him. Thats the role Mary plays.

Christ never taught not to go to church on Sundays, only to "Keep the Sabbath Holy". Does he approve of church? He approves of prayer certainly. Many people look at a clock to make sure they are praying at least a certain amount of time each day/night. Beads help you stay focused for a set time. They arent required and neither is a clock. Just like a picture of a friend or family member is to inspire you to affection, or just like a picture or statue to a leader or athlete is inspiration for us to try harder in holiness. Statues are erected in honor of the American Founding Fathers. Are all these examples idolatry?

We pray for the dead, as well, that they be released from temporary punishment in Purgatory, When they are released to Heaven for all eternity to behold God, we believe they will pray for us while we're on Earth, or if we go to Purgatory, ourselves. We're all one big family and help each other out, in prayer.

Jesus said we are first born of the flesh from our parents but we are born again by the Holy Spirit when we believe in Jesus' blood sacrifice. Even when we are born again we can sin but we have an advocate in Jesus who is there to forgive us, not saying that we can live how we please as long as we are forgiven.

The Church doesnt teach - nor is it true that Mary can by herself answer anything for us - she is not divine or God. But she can intercede for us - and being our Lord's mom - she is a powerful intercessor.
Imagine this analogy... you are going to be condemned to death by a judge.. you can plead for his mercy.. but how much more effective would it be if the judge's mom pleads for you - especially when he is just waiting for her to ask him. Thats the role Mary plays.

Christ never taught not to go to church on Sundays, only to "Keep the Sabbath Holy". Does he approve of church? He approves of prayer certainly. Many people look at a clock to make sure they are praying at least a certain amount of time each day/night. Beads help you stay focused for a set time. They arent required and neither is a clock. Saying a simple 5 min prayer at night a day doesn't cut it. For 30 min meditation, the mind tends to wander. Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God"

Some Christian don't use prayer beads like Hindus, Buddhist or Muslims. It's not Christ way but a pagan way. One day. We will all find out if your prayers are heard.

@abukid Jews stand up and recite things over and over, bowing back and forth to the east, and you can't say many pagans don't do that. Heck, pagans also fast and pray too, does that make it wrong?

Let me tell u why i feel weak to convince ppl about Jesus: all my friends are practising Christians, none of them is Catholic or Moslem or just another belief. I am actually the one learning a lot from them. I am about to attend a Bible study to learn more but i'm waiting till winter is over, because the place which is the head church is far away from here and the streets are slippery atm. I hope i will find a nearer by place. Other
