i feel george was the only bass singer in that he was a singer first and had a lower voice second. armond morales was another one i would consider a bass singer. the others were good gospel quartet basses, but no singers
Agree completely! They were great SINGERS that happened to have low range. I honestly don't think George ever sang at the end of his range, mostly sang to make the harmony sound good. Have solo album of Armond in younger days and I doubt if he sings a C on it, but the quality was impeccable.
