  • he's very lucky. dani jarque and antonio puerta died

  • hes coaching the real madrid youth players these days

  • holy shit oh my god when i first saw this it was just plain scary! i got goosebumps all over my arms.. and his eyes at 0:26 oh my god X( .... scarred for life much? :S

  • We can all consider him as one of the luckiest victims of heart attacks, because him was given the chance to keep living, unlike (also unfortunately) Miklos Feher. :/

  • the emptiness in his eyes 0:26 just scares u doesnt it?

  • poor bloke.

  • What actually happened? Minor stroke? Fit? Or was it just a normal faint?

  • @sergeantfan I suppose it was a heart failure, yes. He has a heart condition, he hasn't played ever since and will not play again.

  • real madrid tried to annul his contract, i hate them even more now.

  • @xananadu Hate them, they have given him a job as a youth coach with the club, thats more than fair im sure hes happy with that since he has had to retire

  • :( We miss you De La Red

    God Bless you

Madridistas support your health and return to play for us @ the Santiago Bernabeu

  • @robertteuma He's retired,

  • @robertteuma why would u want to risk that happening again ! he was a fantastic player but i dont want him to play again for the sake of his own health

  • this is such a sad story,i agree with dir397 tho, dani jarque wasnt so lucky

  • I wish people would stop saying why Ruben? It would be said if it was any player, and no one ever said that life was going to be fair. May be this will open new opportunities for him.

    Anyways,

    Condolences from Iran and USA.

  • At least he's alive..

    DONT FORGET DANI JARQUE!

  • @dir397 NOR ANTONIO PUERTA!! MAY THEY BOTH REST IN ETERNAL PEACE, De la Red, u r 1 lucky lucky lad take this 2nd chance 2 live ur life 2 the fullest & I no if u've retired ur proberbly said cos footballs all u've ever known, but plz plz think about the 2 players that had no choice.

  • Ruben De La Red was better then Xabi Alonso, I am not exaggerating he really was a top quality footballer

  • he's going to be real mardrid youth coach

  • so sad that he had to stop, but i'm glad that he chose his health before football and great to see madrid offered him a coaching job.

  • @kcnB I agree with you all the way. well spoken.

  • i really hate real, but what happened with de la red is really sad, i hope he will be fine despite stopping football at the age of 25, and have a nice life

  • excelente jugador lastima q ya no podra jugar

  • Wow that sucks! i just saw him play today in an old Spain game and he was great! and now to hear this about him is just sad =[

  • i'm a barca fan but i like his style and play. it was a player who had chance to win the ballon d'or

  • ele ficou bem graças a deus

    PT

  • Wow. De La Red was at training today.

  • ruban, hope geat beater soon and scoe a hatrick against man u from liverpool

  • shit, that is really freaky, the way he just fainted, poor guy : (

  • is dis his 1st tym

  • this guy is an absolute genius! its a fuckin shame he cant play.... damn i loved this kid since 2008 and couldnt wait until he came back to madrid and starred it up...

  • My god he's not dead!!

  • from barcelona fan ,, we won't forget you Ruben :(

  • so sad to watch he was really talented

  • he were told by the doctors today that he couldnt play again!

he will get a role in the madrid staff...

    poor guy, great player

    /barca

  • De la red has not retired that is pool shit

he have to pass medical..... to play

the Dr doesnt what is wrong him that way he can not play currently

    hople he return soon

    HalaMadrid

  • Why?

  • so scary...

  • he was a great player hope he make a full recovery

  • he should hung up his boots...for the sake of his own health...

  • He already did. He retired from football and Raul Albiol took his number.

  • M8 he is still fightng to hget back, he refuse to throw the towel in the ring, even though his doctor strongly suggests it!.

  • He hasnt retired yet. The doctors are still trying to figure out what is actually wrong with him

  • No he didnt. He "retired" from last season, and this season. Waiting for the doctors recommendations..

  • he hasnt retired he still hav a flippin contact dumb ass , madrid doesnt let him to play because he has syncope , it doesnt mean he will die but if he wont be careful he can thats why he has been taking out of real madrids squad because he cant play this yer and maybe even next

  • @koki039 until the doctors say he is ready to play again.

  • Most people, like Royston Drenthe, thought he died, see his reaction!

Glad he survived, poor he can't play the entire 09/10 season!

  • he will be out for the WHOLE of 09/10 season as well.

  • I would be disappointed to miss next season but that's the least of his concerned

  • It's so sweet that both teams are helping him..

  • Sweet? We're talking about a man's life, of course they do...

  • They are all professionals not sworn enemies you dumb ass of course they care

  • Ofc they fight, heated derbys, personal rivalries, but not two teams like this. Copa del rey??? And even so football can get heated, when a player faints, its a very real possibility of death, and none of them are that pathetic or childish.

    Grow up you tool.

  • Yeah Right. Like there are no surprices in the world '¬¬

    I-WAS-JUST-SAYING

  • hey fck that I'm a barcelona fan dont talk shit that dude is no barca fan hes just ignorant what happened was sad...

  • fck you

  • poor mi amor.. he shouldn't play at the first place when he feel unwell b4

  • who said he felt unwell b4

  • It is people like you that I can't stand. Don't you realize that this wasn't far away from Rubens death? I see that you are a Barcelona supporter, but if you cant't forget hate in football when things like this happens you are a horrible person. The world doesn't need people that thinks that death is funny or not to be taken seriously, especially when it regards a player who plays for a team you don't like. SHAME!! and grow up please!!

  • put urself in his position, watch watchu say?

  • why all good players have health problems???

  • i hope he's gonna make it and be able to play football again

  • I don't think he's going to play football again, that's a shame cuz he's so good but, for safety, for his life, for his health, for his own good, it would be better if he retires from football. We football fans or anyone wouldn't like more sad stories as Puertas, Feher, Foe and so on...

  • I think he will in a few months, he fainted because of a brain syncope, which is he not enough oxygen gets to the brain. He is only sitting out this season as a precaution and hopefully will be playing football soon.

It's unnerving to see that happen to any player, regardless if they are rivals.

  • con solo ver las espreciones dan a entender su preocupacion

  • Let's just be happy his in good shape again after spending the night at a hospital in Irún.

  • De la red:( go Real Madrid
