This Thursday, the league I bowl in will use the shark pattern. I do not know how it's going to play there but I will give my new Storm Victory Road Solid ball a try and see how it reacts during my practice session.
So what happens when the pattern breaks down and you guys have to move left? You're burning a spot that won't allow you to move left when needed. Also I see none of you have too many revolutions on the ball so I guess it's understandable. If you guys are going to be bowling shark more often I would get some more aggressive equipment or sand down your current aggressive ball so you can actually move through all the oil when you have to go left.
I slow my ball speed way down, play straight up around... 10 - 7... and just let the ball release to the pocket.... normally having good surface on the ball.... then after the breakdown, jump to an aggresive ball which i have killed by not cleaning... this gives me the same basic shot i had first 3 games.... it usually last about 2 games... depending how many others playing my break point.
I move up on the approach, about halfway between the dots, lower my arm below waist level to reduce my ball speed. As I side spin the ball , I use a dull aggressive ball, 320 then 1000 finish, and play the track area, down & in around 10, with a smooth, controlled release as I attempt to set the ball down early and have a long follow through without throwing the ball to hard. I try to stay within myself and not overturn, throw too hard or be aggressive Found u can wear in an area & create room
Thanks for the vid and tip. I bowled my first sport league last night and the pattern was shark. So the first thing I tried just for sh!ts and giggles was to throw outside. I'm a lefty and my ball just went straight down to the pocket. The 4, 7 pocket that is. LOL! I have to admit, I loved the experience. It forces you to play lines that you normally wouldn't play and the amount of accuracy involved is ridiculous. It also so satisfying when you bowl well. I'm 'hooked'.
I enjoyed watching this. I have had some success on the shark pointing the ball up 12-13-14 and I throw the ball with less revolutions then you guys. I just cannot get quick and miss right a tad. That is why for me, timing/rhythm/feel have to be on spot. Any variations, poor results. Best of success with your bowling!

yes, and if you post your shot you might of hit 10 out of 11 good shots. You need balance and you'd be much better.
