The book is better in basically everything, obviously. But Viserys is an exception. He is so much more interesting in the series, the actor made him more likable and toned him down in a way he became less "a character of a single note".

I'm sad... a friend made me watch the series before I read the books. And now I have a strong sympathy for Viserys just because he's kind of cute. :/ The cutest ones are always evil. Except for Joffrey, he is really the Draco Malfoy of ASOIF. The Draco Malfoy in the first two HP books, of course. I mean, before he became hot.

@soonnic I so thought that when I was watching him. But I think it is like this elves thing like in LOTR... They don't have beards, they don't have hair anywhere. Just to make them more feminine. When we were watching the series for the first time, my friend who had already watched it commented: "This is another house, the house of..." and someone else immediately said: "... the homosexuals?". Elves and Targaryens seem to have this kind of femininity...
