You can't compare Coverdale and Plant. Plant lost his upper range years ago. Sadly, it's just not the same voice. To compare you would have to hear Plant sing this song with his1969-1973 voice, and that ain't gonna happen. You could compare bands though. Let's see...Whitesnake or Zeppelin... Well, since Whitesnake was one of worst 80's hair bands ever to perform on God's green earth, I suppose I'll have to go with Zeppelin.

1) they were not really a hair band (but I can see why people think that.. look at the pictures :)) but they were great all the time..

If you are to compare them compare them at the same age.. Coverdale'll probably win all the time but especially now

If you are to compare to rock singers, you should compare them at the same age preferably. You cant compare 1993 Coverdale with 1969 Plant, that is unfair to Coverdale. I rather like both Plant and Coverdale, but I prefer Coverdale. Plant has obviously lost lots of his voice a long time ago. For Coverdale to be singing like this in 1993 is really amazing!

What I find rather interesting in discussions is when people say "you cant even compare this and that" meaning that one is so horrible compared to another, when they are then in fact comparing by saying that you cant compare. I have all Songs.

They are both 2 great singers but... Coverdale can Sing better.

Great stuff, cheers for posting. Shame they only did a few shows and didn't tour UK and Europe as for me the Coverdale/Page album is one of the best things Coverdale ever did, that and his performance on Purple's Burn album. I like some of the early Whitesnake stuff as well but the later stuff (1987 etc) was way too overblown and commercial in my opinion.

And when you got Jimmy Page and him playing the theramin during the middle of the song, there is no comparison. Led Zeppelin is often imited but NEVER duplicated..
