  • Is the Fretless Bass that JB play custom made?

  • Yes yes yes yes Fucken Yes!!!!!

    Oh man is this good!!!!!

  • My god!!!, this is an almost perfect mixture, just becuase perfection it's a mistake too, this ain't, but that conection between eric, jack and ginger is simply great and bluesy!!!

  • God I hate to say this but man, this sucks! What happened to Clapton...he's lost all of the raw emotion that made all his early work so damn good.

  • @pls24 Clapton wrote in his autobiography that he was really sick the week these shows were scheduled, so I can't blame him if he's a little under par here.

  • @pls24 What you call "raw emotion" is the exuberance of youth. Louder and faster is not more emotional it may have more energy and excitement which is as it is and should be. This is real blues, much closer to the Blues played by the grown ups in Chicago than the Kids in England. As a guitarist who has listened to hundreds of guitarist imitating Clapton he can still pull it off. There are certainly a good few just as good but the being the original is still important.

  • Jack's voice is bang on!!

  • that means we are old but we are still what we are - really gooood!!

  • the world is sitting on top of 8 people

  • Wanna get a new appreciation of what Mr. Bruce is doing? Play a FRETLESS bass, harmonica and vocalize all the while keeping the pitch!

  • 1 million times better that the shit that X Factor tries to force feed people.

  • Man I wish I was there, and some times I wish I could've been alive back in the 60's!

Does anyone know if this performance came out on cd?

  • .....clean!

  • 0:33 are sitting on top of my world

  • Jack, what a singer ... brilliant reunion ... good ole Ginge ... Cream of the crop!

  • This is good enough, I s'pose, but Clapton's playing on the original is sick…his tone sounds like a muted trumpet on Wheels of Fire. Top notch work. This is a bit too workmanlike.

  • @PetraeKo Listen to the original recording of this song and compare it to the reunion version. I think Clapton was trying to capture the original sound. With the WaWa.

  • @dlifeon Familiarity with the original version is what prompted my remark. I was hoping he'd do better with it, but hey–––the two versions are 37 years apart. He can't be faulted for too much.

  • EC giving the young a guitar lesson! It's not always about speed, kiddies, it's all about phrasing!

  • Jack is .. is there anything that he can't do??

  • erics ok

  • Where is the magic here???

  • Suck on that all RAPPER RAp is cRAP and the "C"s attempt to call it music more like CRAP!!!

  • Cream really does bring out the best in Clapton's playing.

  • hi i am 14 years old and all my friends listen to bubble gum pop and rap music however i listen to old school rock such as cream, led zeppelin, the who, metallica, ac/dc, eric clapton, jimi hendrix, deep purple, the rolling stones and etc.

rock n roll will never die!!!! ROCK WILL LIVE ON FOREVER!!!

  • Play this at my funeral. At least 2 or 3 people might hear it.

  • who could not like this?????????

  • Hell waits for those who dislike that...

  • The nice thing about this song is its GRAVITY. Led Zep would have done an interesting cover.

  • @bwanna23 To offense to our good friend Robert Plant, but he doesn't possess the bottom end like Jack. But, then, Jack could never have built for us that "stairway", could he?

  • one day, i will play this song, sitting in the everest =D

  • I remember getting stoned & waiting for Cream to start playing, in a little place just outside of Wash. DC. That was when they were just starting to tour. I'd give anything to go back to those days when Progressive Rock was born.

I listen to this, close my eyes & can remember exactly how it looked, sounded, & felt back then. Those memories are more precious than anyone can ever imagine.

It was so awesome watching Joplin, Hendrix, Spirit, Steve Miller Band, etc., when they all were starting out.

  • damn does jack still have it

  • I kinda like the goodbye version better with the boingy bass licks

  • This is my favorite version. of sitting on top of the world

  • Jack Bruce is a taurus and Ginger is a Leo, they are 'enemies' according to Astrology

  • @slenkar

    Makes sense

  • Graham Nash Organization

  • 3人の神の降臨! CREAM “SITTING ON TOP OF THE WORLD”

  • cream 1968 wheels of fire

  • as much as creamas gods this is no were near the mississippi shieks / sam chatmons originals of sitting on top of the world now they are an education for the youth .

  • wow Jack is surprisingly awesome, I mean, the man had recently undergone a liver transplant for liver cancer. his singing is perfect,

  • CREAM

    eternamente the best

    #EricClaptonGod

  • Oh God Please give us Musicians like this , Please.

  • @MrJerryw08

    may i add:

@the lord: if you can't give us more of these, please leave those here as long as possible!!!

  • @MrJerryw08 You better keep wishing and maybe add a prayer or two.

  • @mitchellbass

    héhéhé , it's just GREAT ! =))

  • @mitchellbass

I was just watching this vid you sent me this morning ( for me ) at the same time as you !

  • @mitchellbass

    Hellooooooooooooooooooooooo =))

  • This is how what's done? This is pathetic! It's not a tenth of what they once were. Even though I am a devout 'old school guitar player there is a way more energy in what modern people are putting into their act. Don't be fooled that old is always better.

  • @fastandbulbis I do see that you are not a tenth of what they are now. I am not sure you could pass for "devout old school, except as devout old school". Do you even have an act or did we just read it? Don't worry about us being fooled that old is always better, try to live and play today if possible!

  • I think the director must have been watching another show while Clapton was playing ... he showed us everything but the master. What is the matter with these guys? Sports directors manage to get all the right action, and then more, but music directors are still thinking about "Three's Company" or Gilligan's Island".

  • World tour !! PLease!!

  • The bands of today (and I use that term loosely) could not hold a candle to these guys. No synthesizers, computers, harmonizers, sequencers....just raw musical talent unaided.

  • Just not a patch on the original.

  • Truly unbelievable band! play with such quality and tight as hell...i dnt think these guys ever lost it,,,they just sadly disbanded late 60s...What a group!

  • Cream are a proper Rock and Roll band. True Class.

  • jacks bum note at 4.17 ; D

  • @MrBassmanbongo who cares?

  • fucking amazing what genuis muscians

  • GOD!!!!!! I'm sitting on top of the WORLD!!!!

  • pretty good this old geezer...

  • Ginger Baker still bringing it and how! What a phenomenal group. Back in the 60's when I was just a teen and started listening to these boys all the world...and I mean all the world thought it perverse. Perverse indeed. I feel free!

  • To all the young wannabe rockstars: This is how it's done, guys. Suck on it.

  • @sergiobollana Yeah! Lose some of the mindless metal shred!

  • @sergiobollana I agree whit you my friend. That is true.

  • @sergiobollana Fact is the wannabes just can't play like it. Haven't hot the ability nut more the feel.

  • @sergiobollana Fact is the wannabes just can't play like it. Haven't hot the ability but more the feel.

  • Comment removed

  • @sergiobollana Settle down grandpa.

  • @youhavegeniusshins Jealous that these grandpa's taught you a lesson? :)

  • @sergiobollana - Ha! - try listening to the Goodbye Cream version - beautifully raw, together, rough and young! This is a mature version. They've all been through a lot (above) - Jack Bruce nearly died in a liver transplant only a year before this concert. Of course it'll be different. I don't hanker for the 'old days' at all, but there are some things that become very special over time. This, and the madness of I'm So Glad can never be reproduced. And I don't care much about the blues...

  • @sergiobollana dont worry im sawlloin the gravy

  • @sergiobollana

Still just an interpretation of the original. Milton Brown's 1934 Decca side is better.

  • @cattleprods911 "“There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind"- Duke Ellington.

  • @sergiobollana

I second that - anyone who picks up at an electric guitar for the first time should watch this man and if you get even half as good, you should be proud !

  • Jack Bruce is still alive and playing. Let's not bury one the great British blues-men of all times quite yet.

  • what a no. mind blowing !!! awesome.... left me totally speechless..... intense stuff

  • what a no. mind blowing !!! awesome.... left me totally speechless.....

  • what a no. mind blowing !!! awesome.... left me totally speechless.....

  • oh god this is an orchestration of pure godliness

  • Holy Christ! Was that great or what?

  • saw them twice in 68 (i think) coz was high (if u did the 60s its a bit hard to remember) if u can remember you didnt do it good enough 5555

At the Club A go go Newcastle

    PA was shit

but the MUSIC was Wonderfull. Great BASS Player an Singer

    RIP Jack

  • @robinsuree Jack Bruce is still alive...

  • I hate the sound of today's Drums, especially those bass drums.

  • Whoa Jack Bruce's voice really surprised me!

  • Oh yeah! Love it.

  • sorry but its all a refucking manisfestation of things of long ago man bollox

  • I just wonder how many bass players in modern bands could play a fretless like that eh?. I think Bruce was the powerhouse of Cream yet everyone goes on about Clapton. Yes, Yes before everyone has a go about him being God etc. I agree with all of that too but that sound, sends shivers and makes me smile.

  • this is wonderfull ..love this sense i was a young puppy now im an old dog and still love it like it was the first time i heard it..

  • oh Yah Im loving it....wow..sitten on top of the world....cant get any better than that...i sure wish i could have been at this event...

  • oh Yah Im loving it....wow..sitten on top of the world....cant get any better than that...

  • I feel the pain of sitting on top of the world...3years, 10 months and 20 days, but who is counting????????????

  • eric clapton plays better with cream

  • @wootoodoo I agree. I think with his full band he let's them chime in, but he's IT as far as guitars go. The only one one stage. So he's gotta be on him game to keep the sound full. Plus I think Cream, Blind Faith, and Derek and the Dominos performed much more difficult material than Clapton ever did solo. Only my opinion though.

  • @drummerboyjac Haha no actually I meant he plays better in Cream specifically. Its almost like playing the the original guys makes him remember how he used to do it in the 60s and let go more.. His solos are more powerful in cream

  • to all the women who left me..

  • That little press roll before the vocals start is fabulous. I love me some GB. And they were so tight. Really nice.

  • Great harp playing and he's not even using his hands!! Cream OWNS the RAH!!

  • Comment removed

  • Even though Jack sings his a#ss off It makes it so much easier for Eric to headline shows and do his own thing because of his good voice.Look at Jeff Beck and other great guitarists that cant sing it's a big problem. Not here.

  • AND THE ANGELS COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN TO GIVE US HAPPINESS FOR ALL THE REST OF OUR LIVES

  • It's a shame this song being only in the DVD and not in the CD.

    Directly from heaven.

  • finally i get to see jack sing for cream as an old dude. dont sound bad at all.

  • Great track.

  • Sorry, but Jack is God. No, Eric. No, Ginger. Damn, can we can agree they're the holy trinity.

  • Sorry, but Jack is God. We can agree they're the holy trinity.

  • Excelente.Grandes musicos.

  • Best ever trio by far ! Such a shame they couldnt hold out for a good bit longer

  • the records they made back in the day couldnt hold a candle to this ! why could they not get along ?

  • @dustydino8 Jack and Ginger did not like each others style of playing but it was Jack who had a terrible temper and smashed Ginger's home made drum set when they were in the Graham Nash Origination before Cream. Ginger formed Cream and brought in Clapton who recommended Jack to Ginger not knowing he couldn't stand Jack. Clapton did not want to lead sing and told Ginger that Jack not only is the best bass player he ever heard but that he has a killer voice so Ginger brought Jack in Cream.

  • @hugatag DUDE , THEY WOULD BE THE 1 IF NOT FOR THAT ! TO FORGET IS DIVINE ! JUST JAM !!!!!!!!

  • @dustydino8 totally agree!

  • @hugatag Graham Bond Organistaion dude.

  • @gregzeebass yes correct,sorry 4 the error. :)

  • @hugatag I think you mean the great Graham Bond Organisation

  • @raybede Yes,your correct.

  • @hugatag ahem... the graham BOND ORGANISATION. & to be fair, ginger beaned him with a drumstick first because jack wouldn't turn down...

  • ...Except it was the Graham Bond Organization, and there is more to it than that...Don

  • @hugatag nice piece of knowledge!

  • @hugatag Nice man. Good to see some more knowledge to expand my young mind and pass it around ... AND, apply it to my style of guitar playing.

  • @hugatag It was the “Graham Bond Organization“…

  • @hugatag Minor point - they were in the Graham Bond Organisation (Bond played organ, geddit) - Graham Nash was one of the Hollies.

  • @hugatag It's not that clear cut. It's not like everything was Jack's fault, nor was he the only one with a temper. Ginger Baker attacked Jack Bruce with a knife for god's sake! He also frequently threw drumsticks at Jack during shows when he thought Jack was playing too "busy"(which eventually led to Jack throwing his BASS at Ginger).

  • @rdeem25 Anyway, you can't say whose "fault" it was, and we don't know about their personal relationship. I will say that in the interviews, Ginger Baker (as much as I respect him as a drummer and artist) comes off as incredibly bitter and whiny, going out of his way to bad mouth Jack Bruce at every turn. He even invents stories about how he "really" wrote a song which the other band members and even producers confirm is made up. At least Jack has the courtesy to NOT talk "trash".

  • @rdeem25 Was that before or after Jack smashed Gingers home made drum set? tia :)

  • @hugatag At the same time, actually. Jack was playing a solo and Ginger Baker was "playing all over it". Jack looked at Ginger and Ginger threw a drumstick at his face. Jack then threw his bass and smashed Ginger's Drum set and they started fighting. I think the knife thing was when they were with Graham Bond, which was before cream.

Like I said, you can't really say who is at fault with these things. Great musicians like that are bound to all have big egos and some clash worse than others.

  • excelsior

  • "Look alive Baker!!!!" (Basketball Coach's voice).

  • Lol, look at Baker rocking back and forth in his chair with the stiffest of posture. He is about to fall over. The slightest gust of wind and he's TIMMMMBERRRR. Lol, for you douchebags thats saying im being disrespectful, "FUCK YOU FAGSTICKS". This is my favorite band, wish they had more albums :(

  • @atlienintruder LMAO how can I not love you? :)

  • @hugatag Lol idk, depends...are u a chick? Lol.

  • @atlienintruder Nope I am a fat, bald and disgusting middle aged man with an ear for music. After this life I am gonna come back as a beautiful smart lesbian babe because there is no way I will be with men,I don't know what these girls see in us,even with my old age and hairy back they love me :)

  • CREAM OF THE CROPS

  • damn , that was goood ! got to have it ! cool as it gets !

  • so who are those two gorgeous girls in the audience? :)

  • By the way don't get me wrong I love Clapton.

  • Jack Bruce has an awesome voice. Clapton is good but overrated.

  • @marleyhund777 i think jack b is overrated, but like i respect your point of view, no argue needed :D

  • @marleyhund777 ROFLMAOWKTCUTA!!!!!!!!

  • same ol' same ol' jus betta, fuk ya!

  • Ginger looks better here then hid did 45 years ago. A fact!

  • No offence meant but sometime I wish Clapton had used a Gibson Les Paul or and ES just for this gig................The Strat sounds a bit too shrill...............

  • Simply the best compare this to the version they did on goodbye hard to choose be tween the two.

  • who are those girls at 0:32??????

  • @mredtheanalyst you watch this video and you make a comment like that? get the fuck outta here

  • @mredtheanalyst Oh gee, I dunno, fans of audio type entertainment?

  • Great music, real layed back shit.

  • Tell three other dudes could that!!!!

    SUPERRRRRRR MEGA ...BESOS KAREN

  • In regard to bassists, while there is no denying Jack Bruce is way up there on the list of them plus Chris Squire, I think John Entwistle should not be forgotten.

  • este video es una gran leccion de musica....

  • OMFG this is so amazing!

  • Jack could lose the harmonica....

  • Jack is human. Did you catch the slight mistake he made when staying on G when the chord changed to D? Oh, well, I guess you could call it a Dsus4 for a moment. He is truly an incredible musician and singer. He influenced me so much in my earlier days and I am so happy that he still rocks on. I hope they get back together again.

  • There is Jack Casady, then a space, a large space---then there is Jack Bruce, followed by every other bassist.

  • @mrmott44

Hey, Casady is great, of course. McCartney? Chris Squire? I think they're up there too, especially McCartney. Rhythm, melody, chops, inventiveness. I think he's the best.

  • I am soo happy Jack survived...

  • This is so epic, i'm so happy to be alive to see this

  • OMG...Bruce is amazing

  • @gelor2

Yeah, who's never heard of a rock band with only a bassist and drummer?

    ...

  • @evanguy death from above........very good band unique sound. But alas they split a few years back.......and no gelor. They should not loose Eric.

  • @evanguy death from above

  • @evanguy death from above 1979

  • @evanguy

    jimi hendrix experience

  • The only other band I know with a bassest and drummer is a canadian band NoMeansNo from Victoria BC and they do a great cover of this song.

  • @gelor2 might be the dumbest thing i ever heard

  • @gelor2 you have obviously something wrong in yours ears

  • A band like this comes around once in a lifetime and I think we can see how Led Zep took the ball and ran with it after listening to Cream's take on the blues......

  • @himycatsdead Get outta here. Just like every other band on the planet, Zeppelin were listening around and

cream were just one of dozens of influental bands at that time.

Jack is unusually laid-back here, as a bassist i prefer the intensity of his bass at the albert hall concert.

  • superb

  • God, they progressed so much by the years. Claptons solo is just so awesome, he would never done this in the 60s, if he would, Jimi wouldve sat in the corner and cried

  • @corosian don't overdo it...
