  • eso esta de lujo

  • This inspires me in ways that move me to the heavens. Gentle, balanced movements that are like those of a five month baby... this is where our connection to our form begins. Thank you for posting this. I shall use this in my classes.

  • The point is to try this and see what happens, it's not about getting it right. Feldenkrais is all about experimenting, not goals. This vid might give slightly the wrong impression of what Felden is .... but it's fun to play with.

  • I tried it (with no books). A wonderful exercise. Uses every muscle (and joint, tendon, ligament) in the body. And gives a wonderful stretch to the spine while you're not even thinking of the spine.

  • feldenkrais is the best method for dancers!!!

its awsome i have to confess that it took me like 4 months to finally understand it and to feel it. but ONCE you really feel it the changes in your life are awsome.

I combine feldenkrais with pilates and the changes in my body and my spine are incredible i get 3 cm taller.

its awsome !!! and my teacher is the best she is maru fuentes and i take the clases in Monterrey mexico.

  • I prefer read books!

  • I have tried to find out what Feldenkrais is but no one seems to have a straight answer. Im suspicious of it because all the sites I have been on have a different opinion and seem to want to take money off you for a consultation. It comes over in the same way that NLP does, which is the reinvention of what we understand or do but under a organisation of self appointed practitioners. I suffer with back problems and was told this would help but I cant see me doing this I cant even touch my toes.

  • it's about moving effortless and more efficiently

  • @JammyBadger Check out the book Awareness Through Movement. That will explain what the Feldenkrais Method is more thoroughly and includes the exercises that make it up.

  • @JammyBadger

I understand what you mean. When I first read about it, it seemed so vague. So I tried it with a Practioner. In 2 or 3 sessions a hip injury resolved. You have to DO it to understand it. It's totally gentle. This person is VERY advanced. You can get there through Feldenkrais. A relaxed body, like a baby.

  • Looks splendid but will it help me to lose weight?

  • Absolutely not. Feldenkrais has nothing to do with losing weight.

  • Since I saw this video I've been trying out this exercise and although I can't keep track of the books, I swear I've lost a few pounds already. I think it has to do with using muscles more than when you sit in a chair.

  • @cuijin But I bet that would be a very possible side result, just as happens with practicing pilates.

  • I have been searching to find out what Feldenkrais was all about, after seeing this I will stick with my own method of movement. My method is called movement with purpose, all I can gather is that its like dance for people with sticky books.

  • @JammyBadger please do more research other than youtube, ... peole are losing inner human nature!! we do movements like this as infants ( not as controlled of course ) but grow up and get so distracted by technology ( iphones and game console ) that these movements seem foreign to us..

  • i believe she has sweaty and sticky feet, that's it.

  • HA! this is one of the feldenkrais community's better cocktail party tricks!

the entire ATM is quite a lot of fun. one really nice aspect about this video is the speed and timing of coordinated complex movements AND in both directions can be clearly observed. thanks, this one always puts an appreciative somatic smile on my face! m.gibb (practitioner)

  • any idea where I can find the whole atm lesson? is it in yanai or amherst or??

  • The name of the lesson is Books on the feet. It could be A. Yanai's, but I'm not quite sure. Let me try to find out. This was taught as the very last ATM in the Feldenkrais Training in Colima, México.

  • that would be great if you could thanks. i've not yet finished the last year of my training so who knows maybe it'll be on the last day of mine...

  • very useful!

  • but, Is the pelvis leading the movement?

  • This alone would put me in the hospital!

  • The books have a glossy finish which allows it to stick better to normally moisturized skin. But the moves are still cool.

  • Loved this. Thanks for posting.

  • muy lindo!!!Naice!!!

  • I can do that. It's not that hard.

  • beautyfull!!!

  • very useful. LOL

  • If you can soften your rib cage, engage your torso muscles in a well-organized, easy manner---all the things you need to do this movement-- then a lot of other actions get easier. that's why it's useful.

  • Why do the books stick to the feet at such a severe angle?

  • it's a natural thing. Try it and you'll see: the skin and the surface of the books create a particular friction that allows them to stick to the foot even in severe angles.

  • Bravo!!!! Great Feldenkrais® movement. Please show more!!

  • looks hard!
