This is a great video post. Mr. Howard explains & plays great!! Now, I must agree that Twinkie Clark had a big part in making this sound popular in church. However, Billy Preston was before Twinkie and she had to learn a lot of this from him. He's on lots of those very old gospel recordings as well as secular for a good reason.

honey pentecostal and cogic are very much differant i'm pentecostal my self n the things cogic teach that is alright we teach its wrong so and if we was the same how come theres paw and cogic and bibleway assemblies of god and so on we all don't go to the same convocation.we teach not to wear rings and pants were as cogic do teach for it

@beamn318 Not only is this about music... the teaching of the outward apperance has nothing to do with the differences of COGIC and Pentecostal. That differs church to church.

I myself love the way he was playing. And want to be able to incorporate all the different styles when I play.

That's not necessarily JUST a COGIC sound because MANY denominations use 2 hand chords with the bass pedals.

It really depends on what part of the country you are from and who is playing the organ. There are really 2 styles of Gospel organ...contemporary and traditional and some variations of both...denomination doesn't play a big role in music...it mainly has to do with the way people interpret scripture.

C.O.G.I.C. and PENTECOSTAL is the same thing because im both and its no diffirent its the same .its the same because my uncle play the same if he was at a pentecostal church or cogic its the same thing cogic and pentecostal is the same thing so pentecostal play the same as us cogic folk do some baptist do aposolict do but im cogic all the way this is the church of god in christ

Sorry dude its a difference i have been COGIC all my life, family is musical inclined and i also play, theres no soumd like the COGIC church. Not trying to be rude just telling it like it is, You just heard EDDIE say theres a difference, and hes a National respected musician.

well to be honest i cant tell the difference between cogic and (pentacostal) organ music because when u tried to show and deminstrate the two style it all sound and felt the same to me sir and im not tryin to be rude but yea

I'm glad credit is given where it is due. Twinkie Clark?......I haven't heard anyone hold a candle to her COGIC sound. Raised in COGIC.....you know that "Yes Lord" sound anywhere.
