The US version is thoroughly edited to make it sleeker, so that every joke seems absolutely hilarious. If you listen closely you can sometimes hear the audience laughter being looped or extended.

Still, despite the editing, it's still hilarious. the UK version is more pure though.

Mainly because the US censors don't allow as much stuff as the UK censors. If you've ever seen the outtakes, there's a lot of stuff that the director cuts off before it's done (especially Superheroes)

The basic premise is the same, but the type of humor etc is just so different.

Of course the two blurred a little in the middle, and i think that is probably my favourite period in the shows history.
