McCain *used* to be a respectful and respectable senator. His biggest downfall was crawling up Bush's ass after 2003 in preparation for his 2008 presidential race. He spent 5 years changing who he used to be and as a result, alienated a lot of center republicans and conservative republicans alike. I would have rather seen him win the race against Bush in 2000. He would have made a far better president out of that race than this one. He doesn't know who he's running as anymore.
i am a firm believer in the idea that senators on the whole do not make great presidents. Governors and VP's do. Governors have experience in leading large groups of people. VP's have experience working along side presidents. However, the only senator that has won in the past fifty years was Kennedy and he didn't have a great deal of experience and his follies as president are greatly overshadowed by his untimely death so some may view this assessment as unfair.
I like Obama-but I think McCain has more experience and is more moderate which is what our country needs. McCain *used* to be a respectful and respectable senator. His biggest downfall was crawling up Bush's ass after 2003 in preparation for his 2008 presidential race. He spent 5 years changing who he used to be and as a result, alienated a lot of center republicans and conservative republicans alike. I would have rather seen him win the race against Bush in 2000. He would have made a far better president out of that race than this one. He doesn't know who he's running as anymore.

i am a firm believer in the idea that senators on the whole do not make great presidents. Governors and VP's do. Governors have experience in leading large groups of people. VP's have experience working along side presidents. However, the only senator that has won in the past fifty years was Kennedy and he didn't have a great deal of experience and his follies as president are greatly overshadowed by his untimely death so some may view this assessment as unfair.

I am a Democrat and I agree, John McCain has been and is a great senator who has worked with the other side of the aisle and has truly cared about doing what's right instead of partisan politics. I heard a funny remark about Biden today, in terms of interpreting what his words mean (the question was specifically regarding the nebulous warning he gave at that last speech about Obama being tested in the first 6 months). My b/f is in the army and was stationed in Iraq during the beginning of the war, he did not have to be there, the war's intent was for oil, but I won't go any further than that.
