  • How much did that cost? I ask because talon makes a very good air ride setup (true air ride conversion not the air assist BS everyone calls air ride) for the same price as the Firestone R4 Tech hybrid setup. I didn't see if you were running a 1/2 ton or something bigger though.

  • And how are you supposed to take tight corners?

  • fucking bullshit design man, piece of fucking shit

  • what if one only one of the two tires of the hitchog blows up? Looks very unsafe.

  • how wide thw hitchhog

  • GET A TRUCK THAT CAN HANDEL THE LOAD AND FOR GET ALL THIS CRAP THAT CAN BREAK DOWM!! ON YA

  • so i prefer a towbar and hitch. only 2 parts that need no maintenace, Next thing is that a normal towbar is only 2 inch away from the back of the car, and the thing in the video almost 1,5 feet, so everytime you pull al litlle bit on the steering wheel, the trailer reacts immediately, because the extended towbar sways more than one that is only 2 inch away.

  • What's wrong with building trailers that have the axle just a litlle out of the middle so that the weigh on the trailer hitch doesn't push with more than 150lbs on the towbar from the towing car, because the more pressure on the back of the towing car, the more you take away the pressure from the frontwheels, and can cause the whole thing to sjimmy out of control. The system in the video helps to take some weight of, but it's a hassle, because it has alot of parts, and parts do wear out.

  • The hitch hog can also be used by itself for carrying a big load at the back of your pickup!

  • whats wrong with using air suspension, with air suspension you don't need to let the air out, you don't put huge stress on the hitch and you don't need to worry about another 2 tyres getting punctures.

  • I let the air out so the tires dont drag in tight turns. The tires from the hog aide in large amounts of straight line stability and an increase in wheelbase. if the tires were allowed to steer all of the time, much of the advantages of the device would be lost.

  • looks dangerous to me.......what happens when u hit a dip and the hog picks up the back of the truck and it looses traction.....ill stick to my weight dis hitch

  • looks like a good idea, and defiantly can see it as a way to lake some of the load off the back of my truck but I'm really interested in knowing the answer to andy33167's question.......

  • Nothing happens in a dip. Since we are using air as the device to support the weight and its only set to support the tongue weight, any excess will cause the bag to colapse. The hog closely mirrors the vehicle suspension. The air bag will simply compress in dips and since the hog has a large amount of wheel travel it cannot stick you in a dip. I spent many a night designing and testing so that could never happen.
