  • So where are the improper comments are?

  • theres one capacitor which i cant even tell if its blown or not lool

  • To replace a 2200uF cap -- use a 2200uF, 16V Panasonic EEU-FC1C222. Fits properly and get's you the voltage clearance that you need as well as low-ESR.

If you need to replace the 1000uF caps -- go with Panasonic EEU-FC1E102L.

  • Which CAPs did you buy? Voltage and Farad?

  • @aggshit

I saw that mine two 2200u 10V was swollen.

Is it good enouch with 2200u 25V?

  • @aggshit which cap is recomended?

can only find 10V and 50V

  • if there is 5 caps as part of a set that work together then all 5 should be replaced as they should be a matching set if not the lower ones will be working harder and may fail soon unless you found the exact same ones

  • Hi, I have followed the steps and replaced 5 capaciators on my Samsung TV, was doing as reported wouldn't turn on and just kept clicking! put it back together and Nothing still making the same clicking noise, it sounds like its coming from the small boxes 2 yellow 1 blue 1 black about 1" sq on the same board? any help would be much appreciated after reading everyones success i am disappointed it hasn't fixed ! great videos

  • @wizzywigterry. I have a question and I hope you can help me. I have a Phillips 47" lcd hdtv. When I press the power on the remote it'd click like it was going to turn on then it'd click agian like 4 seconds later but The screen would never turn on. I heard it was the power supply board so I opened it checked it out but I visibly I didn't see any capacitators that were messed up they all looked pretty normal. Is it possible for capacitators to be bad even if they don't look like it?

  • god damn if i wouldew know that before i turned my tv in i wouldew spent alot of money... it made the klicking sound when i pressed on...

  • Great video man. The only thing I would point out that I did not hear in your video is to make sure you match up the correct microfarads and voltage when buying replacement capacitors. You can buy a capacitor that is rated at a higer voltage, but never a lower voltage. Also, pay attention to the negative and positive leads when removing the damaged capacitor and make sure the new one is installed the same.

  • Hi we would like to thank you for these videos about the capacitor replacement on the samsung LCD tv , we followed your instructions and repaired our own, your help was brilliant many thanks. Samsung have alot to answer for..

  • DO Not attempt to repair yourself - I raised a service request online with Samsung (UK) and a TV shop contacted me next day to arrange repair. They are obviously admitting the TV is defective as mine is over 3yrs old so well out of guarantee!

  • @spoolon Samsung Canada is not as honourable as Samsung UK, as I have made numerous attempts to get them to admit and fix the problem on my barely-out-of-warranty TV. The service rep on the phone basically told me to screw myself in plain English after I argued that it was a known flaw all over the internet and that they are responsible! See my video for how I finally fixed the problem.

  • hi terry my tv recently started this problem and was quoted £180 to fix. i,ve looked my self after watching your video and the capacitors look damaged.... wheres this nice shop in bolton? i,m from bolton.. and when i remove the board will it still hold an electric charge?? thanks

  • do you have any idea what to do if my samsung plasma has one chime / one click & still wont turn on? capacitors looks perfect, have checked them. thanks!

  • It worked like a charm--for a total of $10 and about an hour of effort. Thanks again!

  • @dabelche

You are very welcome my friend, only to pleased to help.

  • my television lcd has weird horizontal green lines on top!

    How can I fix it?

    please help me

  • @silvioz87

google it. then take it apart and check parts.

  • why do they use those worthless electrolytic capacitors in TV's?

    god they always breakdown.

  • @Thetruthishere11 They use cheap, under-rated caps, to save every last cent. It really pisses me off, because it means that most electronics nowdays don't last anywhere near as long as they should. Useful life of any designed product can be extended just by careful planning and with careful choice of components; but of course, who wants to make a TV last 10 years... otherwise the customer won't buy a new one?

  • Repaired my tv for less than a fiver, thanks to your excellent post you have just wished i could by you a pint thanks again.

  • Excellent job, it works very well. I have a 2007 52” LCD it was giving same problem for the last few months. Repair estimate was £380, looked at video bought two capacitors from Maplin for 84p and TV is now working as good as new. Many thanks, you saved me money, trip to the tip and TV has better reception and many other things are now working which never worked before.

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !!

  • @crazygang22, you are not alone. i opened my tv and visualy none of them are leaking or bulging. @ any1 who can help is there a way to check if a capacitor has faild or not or maybe pick out capacitors to be changed. thanks 4 e help.

  • i have a samsung tv, a common fault on these tv's is the capacitors need replacing as they have the tendency to vlow up or leak.

i have opened up my tv, but i cannot identify the the dodgy capacitor, as physically they all look the same, is there an alternative way to find out if i have a dodgy capacitor.

  • just change all of them, they are about $1 each

  • @crazygang22 i have the same problem that you have and im just wondering , if you did find away to identify the bad capacitor , how did you do it ?

    - Thanks .

  • @XxNutyChickxX i ended up getting a new television, apparenly my tv was still under warranty which saved me a few quid in repairing the tv. sorry cant be of much help.

    thanks

  • They aren't transistors, they are capacitors. Yes they can be purchased at a variety of electronic stores or online.

  • Awesome Job. Thanks for showing this.

  • just replaced 4 of mine 3 were leaking one was buldging it works a treat now.thanks its only cost me 2.84 at maplins.i was told it would cost me 130 quid so thanks again for saving me so much money

  • What are those blue things next to the capacitor's that you change. on mine it looks like the blue things are leaking. are they inductors or fuse.

  • Youd have been better replacing all the ones near the heatsink mate as its the heat from this which make the capacitors fail.

Often a visual inspection isnt enough, if you can check the ESR this is a good indication if its failing or not.

Good stuff though, and a fellow boltonian!

  • I live in the US, where do I find these replacement transistors? are they something generic I can buy at any electronics store? let me know. thanks tg
