The developer will never come right out and state the obvious. This project is DEAD. The developer allowed its sales center (shown in the video) -- which was built at a cost of millions of dollars -- to close because they couldn't afford a few thousand dollars to pay the rent.

The Chicago condo market is grossly oversupplied. And the Spire was to be priced over twice per sq ft what the Trump Tower is selling (or NOT selling) at. It was borderline unfeasible during the boom, impossible now.

GOD DAMN! I really want to live here, but I'm not gonna be able to because by the time I'm old enough to, it will be all sold out, and when people start to resell, it will for twice as much. Not to mention I don't even know what college I'm going to. This place is like my dream location though. I really hope I live there when I'm older. Chicago is really cool.

i mean, this would be the ultimate promotional tool, he could not only throw mega parties but he could also use it as a premium business location for exclusive premiers of new music and the likes since advertising on the highest man made point in the U.S.A sounds pretty attractive in my books. he grew up in chicago from what i know don't know if he is that much associated with the city but he came to my mind immediately and he certainly would have the financials :D
