  • this vid really help me to play this song . Your are truely a gifted and talented musician !

  • Your style is one of the cleanest one I've heard, wish I could play this.

  • E' un'esecuzione magistrale, lo stacco dal minore/maggiore del brano di Tarrega non fa travisare errori nemmeno sul tremolo.

  • Excellent tremolo... I think, the best Recuerdos de la Alhambra is that video.

And I want to ask it: Did you made a mistake between 1:32 - 1:37 ?

  • I remember when this came out on the GuitarTechniques DVD. Thanks Bridget this is fantastic!

  • Fantastically played. You get a star.

  • Excellent!

After years of playing this piece I don't find the tremolo a problem but the legatos are!

  • It's.. so beautiful, makes me cry.. a piece of art

  • mmm muy buen tema muy buena digitacon uy weno tod tod todo

  • Wow this is so beautiful. I have been struggling with this one for some time now. I can play the tremolo and all the notes but need more practise to get it sounding as good as your rendition. I have subscribed...

  • I think it´s both a question of regular practice and patience, and perhaps a talent for this kind of guitar playing.do not speed it up to 16th:s or 32:os until you feel that you have complete control over the rythmics, and can balance the fingers.

  • I can´t get this right by succesively speeding up ami rythmics, but sometimes it works when i just play it kind of fast from the start. It´s like a trembling, shivering finger movement.I´ve gotten pretty used to ami,but then one has to start from scratch using other flamenco-patterns like imai, iami and so on.It´s a bit sad not getting it really right,it sure creates an expressive and beatiful sound for some pieces, gotta have patience and diligence,i guess.

  • increible que vaya asi de rapido, la cancion es rapida pero ella no tiene limites, quede impresionado con esta interpretacion, tanto qure he decidido practicar para llegar a ser igual o mas rapido que ella, es de las mejores

  • I am trying to learn tremolo and I am struggling with the speed. Can you offer any advice on speeding up or is it just a case of practice and more practice! Love your version of this!

  • best version online

  • Please Brigde. You guitar is spruce or cedar top? Luthier?

    Thanks. Great Sound .

  • So beautiful I've played it a hundred times ... and that enchanting smile right at the end

  • I think you are a phenomenal musician :)

  • In "allemande" for example i only had to make a few corrections and not very hard to do,for instance the intro (two b-notes whitout the trill)using "mi" instead of,as i did before just the" i"(automatically)wich took me four months, three hours a day practising to get used to.

No,seriously,i feel free to use whatever fingers are available, though i will continue to vary(is that the english word?)more with im and especially ma on the b and e-string.there are lots more of course, meditation it is.

  • I´ve been practising some imi,ia,ma variations for pieces like "sarabande, bourrée etc" according to suggestions in a note-book,keeping complete concentration on this though makes me loose touch with the expression of the music and how i feel about what i´m playing, but it also sometimes makes it more fun.Can one really talk about a "correct" fingering for each individual, and more, the right hand fingering is,of course depending on what left hand fingering you use,no one has the same.

  • @laskafamous I don't think there are absolute "correct" fingerings, just intelligent ones that work well. I sometimes tell my students to work out precise fingerings and 'play like a robot' just to get the technique secure. This can be like a meditation - free from anxiety and enjoyable. Once the hands are trained you can then put your heart and soul into it! Sounds like you know this already!

  • Thanks for the advice,i almost always use the "a" on the e-string,only recently i´ve started to analyze how all fingers alter.anyway, this one(recuerdos) i still can´t get the speed and rythm.it´s easier with leyenda, only using i m.thanks!

  • 'A capitol crime to use the same finger for several notes'? Ha ha, lol! Well, it's not great and it will limit your RH technical development. Try to persevere with alternating fingers and occasionally use the 'a' if notes cross the top 3 strings. Good luck!

  • Thanks for answering,i´m trying to learn this beatiful guitar work,(not easy playing 32 notes though)and also trying a little more specific pattern for the right hand on pieces like allemande or bourrée.Is it a capitol crime to use the same finger for several notes?(i´m trying to get rid of that habit, not always succesfully)One guitar teacher told me that right-hand fingering is something very personal and he only suggested them in writing his arrangements when he thought it was important.

  • the right-hand thecnique here is of course, essential. But as for other pieces like "allemande" from bwv 996,well, ihave a book where p i m a is clearly written out for each note,i follow that only for a bit, then i go by feeling, not even aware of what fingers i use,i enjoy playing that way.Does it really have to be so strictly organized as in the book?

  • @gipcarp I used to learn Bach pieces with all right hand fingering prescribed. It's a good training for the right hand and a good discipline to analyse how the fingers operate and to be in charge of what fingers you are using. However, once enough of this work has been established the right hand ought to have enough 'intelligence' to take care of things without needing fingering on every note. That said, it is still often necessary to decide specific RH fingering for certain passages.

  • muy buen trabajo Bridget! te felicito; aquellos pequeños errores pierden toda importancia frente a un sonido tan limpio, muy buena técnica. i love u

  • I'm impressed! Your interpretation draws me. I've heard many interpretations but your is oustadning. For me N. Yepes was the perfect one but yuo play is like a magic. I see you, listen to you and there is nothing else...

Thank you very, very much! It looks like I need to listen to more of your music :-)

    Arek

  • @Bridge102

could i ask you why you do the tremolo near the bridge?

Almost every player does it there but why?

  • @cihad2003 I don't play it all that near the bridge - I come up to the sound hole quite a bit. But to answer your question: the strings are tighter nearer to the bridge therefore they move less when plucked enabling greater control of the right hand - especially for tremolo where the fingers have to pluck the same string again and again. You want to try and play with a strong tone but you don't want the string flapping around all over the place.

  • God..she´s so clever !!!!!!!!!!!!! It´s weel played with the tempo and the execution is pretty good.. I want a girlfriend like her.. Keep it up.

  • bridget thanks for making it simple for us to practice
