You Tube has to be the greatest thing to come along since the computer was invented...where else can you find the Louvin's and Marvin Rainwater...I'm 71 now but "Don't Laugh" was the favorite song I put in my 1958 yearbook, from Rhode Island ...years later I got to play on the Opry and met Charlie I was speechless...a lot of acts have come and gone since then but they'll probably always be my favorites, wish Ira could have stayed around a lot longer...long live the Louvin's....
Charlie is one of the greastest guys you will ever meet,I got to speand a WHOLE day with him in 2005,I met him at Shoneys restaurant in Manchester Tenn,I was talking to him about playing lead for him He took me to his home,I was there from about 3pm until after midnight,He gave me about 15 Louvin CD's FREE!,I went back to my room Charlie called me next morning I got to have breakfast with him,He actually said he didn't think anyone recognized the Louvins..WRONG LOVE them!!!
This whole recording is one of the best I feel The Louvin Brorhers has ever done. Their harmony is perfect - as always - and all of the musicians here are really turning on. I am always so excited to hear Ira's magic mandolin. If he had done a whole album of just his mandolin music I believe it would have sold well back when they were at the top of the music world. I could listen to them all day. What a pleasure to hear such talent as these brothers have. Thank you for this winner. - Paula
