Mine actually came off on its own a few months ago. I had my PSP for about 2-3 years, so I think the adhesive actually got worn out over time, lol.

its easy actually. but i didn't do the part when you use the hairdryer. lol not it is scratch and bend. it's kinda like a gum or double sided tape on the back of the silver ring to connect it to the umd door cover. i just painted my umd door and it could cover the scratch

Burns out the drier too... Try tipping it next time, Mom will be happier you did.. Clean glue off with WD40 by the way, it takes all snot of things with a rag, just don't put it on your knock slobben..

the amount of heat i used wasn't that much.

it was just as much as leaving ur psp in the car for a day. So it isn't a problem, also the back of a psp is more resistant to heat than the front so its not a problem, also u can open the umd door while you do this so heat doesn't pass on directly into the psp.

u can remove ur old one like this or just by prying it off to install a new one that comes with addehsive pre applied. I did it because i needed to remove it to cut a window into the psp's door. I rather not waste a new silver ring on a new psp door.

the parts in you psp are probably not made to withstand the temperature of the hair dryer. you probably could do this with the UMD plate still on, but i would take it off just to make sure. And its not relay that hard to take it off

after u heat it, it removes easily! have no worries. after u think u heated it well enough u can begin prying it with ur nails and it will come of really easily. no scratches at all on the ring or the door.

put a umd in the umd slot just to make sure not too much heat flows into the lens area. just a caution. heat it well, don't over do it. i think i only heated it for less then 20seconds or so.
