  • Well posted. Have always loved mackers version but this is even better!.

Type Macker on MTV Unpluged doing Tonight. Bendy

  • GOD Bless and rest her soul. Such a wonderful talent.

  • GLORIOUS.

  • @lennydylan Absolutely, agreed. I read somewhere Mariah Carey was watching Phoebe Snow perform a song live at some awards ceremony or concert in recent years & was in awe.

  • Love this song. First heard this whilst courting my wife of 27 years. God bless Phoebe Snow !!

  • Love love love this version...thanks for sharing this!!

  • A wonderful delivery of a song that is chord-wise so very McCartney.

  • @vanessamcqueen11 aye your right...one of the best songs McCartney wrote...but shows how a great singer can take a song and make it her own...rock n roll..

  • The Best, Sleep-tight

  • love you Phoebe. i first listened to and loved you and these songs 22 years ago, now something just reminded me to listen to you again just to find out that youre gone, less than a month ago... how terrible. You were such a lovely lady with an amazing voice. wish you all the best in the afterlife.

  • @toeinpus we share the same experience, only for me it was for me it was 30 years ago.

  • I am crying....what a talent..... so unselfish to forfit her career to take of her disabled dauther.... She is pure LOVE. R I P

  • Awesome talent, when I heard she passed, I played all the music I had in my possession of her and reminiced, I never saw her perform but that's okay, I have her music to remind me of how great a talent she was, that's enough.

  • I adore how she places those notes, phenomenal talent

  • the best song for lovers ever

  • This was a big radio hit in England when I was a kid, I don't think it made the charts, but I always thought it was great. RIP Phoebe.

  • @mayakane Yeah, absolutely! Big hit in NZ too....though I was in my very early 20's. Great song, great talent.

  • This blows away the original Paul McCartney version--with one of the most killer choruses I have ever heard!! Fast forward to it if you must.

  • @wsidechris I don't think you could say blows it away ..2 different styles ..I prefer Maca anyday

  • @EGGMAN909 Mmmmm.....nah. Phoebe Snow anyday!

  • You brought so much joy & inspiration, Heaven's lucky to have you Phoebe

  • RIP PHOEBE..........God Bless U

  • Will be sadly missed by all

  • I love this song, if only she had sung it a little slower and let more emotion in earlier on.... Other than that a marvellous cover.

    RIP Sophie & thank you.

  • I just love the way this lovely lady sings this song!!!

  • What happened to Phoebe's song "I wish I was a willow"? Can't seem to find it among her playlists.....?

  • @linda12121954 It's subtitled I Wish I Was a Willow...the actual song is Harpo's Blues. I actually listened to it today when I heard she'd passed away...cried like a baby... :*(

  • @linda12121954... It's hard to believe that she is gone. This woman was an extraordinary one of a kind female singer. I've been her fan since the beginning in 1974 with her hit song, Poetry Man. Phoebe made a profound impact in my life ever since. But try and listen to more of her music. You will be spellbound she's even mesmerizing in concert. I had that pleasure in 1982 to see her perform. Play her video feature here, You Send Me. I guarantee you will get sent!

  • this is a great Beatle song PAUL MacCArtney wrote in 69.. this also a good cover..very wingszee

  • I <3 her voice its really good!

  • great singer great song, much better than the original.

  • @dromoreblue its good yes, but she didnt write it. Dont knock Macca. Who will remember Pheobe Snow. ?

  • @glenoby Agree McCartney is a legend, Just think Phoebe's version of this song is best by far. The fact i heard Phoebe's version first probably has a lot to do with my preference. Have listened to some of her other stuff and its nothing special with the exception of "Poetry Man". But the fact is this is a great cover by a great voice and i never tire of listening to it.

  • @dromoreblue this version is great, but the production is aweful...too much ugly 8o's synth and the 80's snare sound is terrible. her voice is amazing. the Mac version is so much more natural

  • @conicteamtv Why must people compare? If you are not an only child, perhaps your mother continually compare you to a sibling? Is that the problem? if so, how sad! My mom made each of her 5 children feel special and wonderful and loved. No comparisons required!

  • How many of Cole Porters amazing songs, did he have personal hits with?Love Paul, love Phoebe, love the song, thanks so much for posting.

Let us pray, hope and support her with our best wishes for a healthy life and recovery. She has a FB page "REAL PHOEBE SNOW" and her manager and friend Sue reads all the messages to her.....It is so unfair that someting like thishappened to such a special human being......

  • Brill...could be even better than Pauls original!!!! Andy

  • She does great but she is certainly no Paul McCartney! I much prefer the original.

  • THIS GIRL CAN SING THE ABC's AND I WOULD BUY IT!!!

AS A VOCALIST SHE IS AWESOME AND AS A MOM, FROM THE STORY SHE TELL OF HER DAUGHTER, SHE IS MUCH MORE. SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO YODEL AND I JUST LOVE HER.

ps-Phoebe, please get well from your stroke. You are kept in my prayers. Los Angeles, CA

  • Paul Mcartney wrote this song but I'm not sure if he recorded it.

  • @slyme1711: He did-his was the first version ever heard. This version is the third version.
