@pmt1942 Me to!! I finally figured out how to solve the slug issue! All you have to do is put them in a flower pot or container and slugs cant climb into the pot!
As the air starts to turn too cool for the marigolds, I like to spread a little compost or potting soil over the area where the marigolds had grown during the summer. The seeds that fell in that area will be just fine till the weather warms up to start the growing cycle over again next spring.
I use human poop for compost. It works really well and provides all of my Marigolds with the necessary nutrients they require. The best way to do this is to keep a 5 gallon bucket partially filled with soil in your bathroom. About once a week, instead of taking a dump in the toilet, take a dump in the bucket and then cover with more soil. Put any used toilet tissue in the regular toilet. When the bucket is full I mash it up with an old broom stick and set it in the sun to rot for two weeks.
Thanks for this great video. I have some marigold starts and, thanks to this video, I realize I have probably been watering them too much. Also, I have them under a florescent light. The ones directly under the light are doing well but those growing on the outer edges, where light is less intense, they are beginning to frizzle. Any other suggestions? Thanks! BTW, I live in the Pacific Northwest.
I have to battle slugs eating my marigolds. So, I have discontinued planting them with my other annuals. What do you suggest?

Expert Village doesn't seem very informative no matter what it is.
