  • e71 look nice or e72???

  • e72

  • its 130 now

  • terrible video quality

  • What is the internet browser like? Does it runs its own browser or run a 3rd party one? How does it compare to the I-phones browser if I may ask?

  • Nokia is using its own S60 browser. It is very good if you are symbian fan. If you have been using iPhone and if you are gonna use a symbian based browser, you might have some difficulties using it.. I am a symbian fan, so i am enjoying using this browser.

  • whats the release date for the uk? thanks

  • I heard it ll be out in sept however, friends from Singapore say it is already out at that part of the world..

  • and about the quality of reception?

i know that e71 has some problems: handling it the reception gets lower..

  • Please check the reply for "marcowlg".. sorry.. no disrespect.. i am just too lazy .. :) if you have any other questions that I have not answered here, please do ask..thank you

  • has it the same reception issue of the e71?

  • E71 & E72 will be operating pretty much on the same ops frequency. I would say E72 probably has improved by 2% when it comes to operating frequency..and Operating frequecy for these phones are the same through out the globe except in china..

In most reception based issues, it is not the Mobile phones that has to take the blame.. it is the carriers.

  • how is the quality of the camera?

  • Camera quality is as good or lil better than what you see on an Nokia N95. Video recording is not that great. I guess it is probably because this camera is only 15 FPS..

  • thanks ~~!!!

are u posting the pictures by E72 somewhere on the web? if yes, i would like to hv a look ~~!!=)

  • I have not posted any pics as of now. But I will do that and will provide you with the link :)

Please let me know if you have any other questions..

  • thanks !! u r the kindest !!

do let me know when the link is ready =)

  • Does it support instant messaging? (e.g. Yahoo, hotmail, Gmail etc)

  • Yes, It does support Gmail, yahoo, Hotmail and ICQ however, AOL/AIM is not supported. As far as I know about it, it is an API issue.. Please do ask me if you have any other questions...

  • Cyqed - After 2 weeks I have another question.

If I wanted to connect it to my wireless internet at home is that possible? And if so, it is easy access or do I need to dish out my personal information to some nice men in korea before it works?

  • You mean Wi-Fi(Wlan). Yes, you can use wireless connection on this phone. It is pretty easy to search for WiFi connections on this phone. On the home-screen you have an option to search for available Wifi connections.. and it is pretty safe too.. :)

Nokia E72 comes with a MicroSD card slot.. not mini.. I have never seen Nokia using mini sd cards..

  • Cyqed - That's right, I've come back poking at even the tiniest detail.

Is the qwerty keyboard any good? The smaller space bar seems to be a problem.

  • No issues at all. You can ask me all the questions you have :)

Well, E71's qwerty was alright to use..E72 also uses the same keypads.. so if you have used e71 and if you liked it, you surely like this one too..

Nokia kinda cramped up the space bar on e72 BUT they added two new buttons.. towards the left side of the space bar, you have a new button for symbols and bluetooth and towards the right, you have a mute button.. :)

  • Cyqed - I never owned a E71 but I did play with one and I spent over a year researching it.

The problem is, I very large hands. It's a family trait.

Would the buttons be a problem for big hands?

  • Big hands and qwerty keyboards never get along well :) Where you comfortable with E71's keyboard when you used it..If you were, you wouldn't have any issues with E72..

I would never consider anything in the market a better phone than this one..This got everything you can ask for.. (I am not a fan of touch phones)..

  • Cyqed - I'm not a fan either. They're very reflective in bright conditions, they get finger marks easily and you have no sensation of real buttons so you're always staring at the screen.

I didn't have much of an issue but I didn't play with it for very long. I can always get a refund if I'm not suited to it. I'm emailing websites to find out if they're going to have it and I might get a laptop in the deal too.

What kind of video files does it play?

  • they play almost everything (when you are talking in terms of videos played on mobiles).. MPEG4, 3GP, RealVideo 7 to RealVideo 10, H.263, Flash Video. These are the supported video files it play..

Most of the touch screens come with 65,536 colors.. that is why they cannot be viewed in bright conditions.. E72 comes with 16 million colors :)

  • Cyqed - Does it charge when connected to the computer?

Or the real reason is unless they cost the same as a small country they're totally crap.

  • Yes, it does charge while connected to the computer. E72 can be charged via the USB connecter however, there is no separate USB charger.. E72 comes with standard "pin" charger

  • Cyqed - Do you have any idea how much this will cost?

Also, if I'm trying to connect to my wireless at home or a free wifi tower will the phone company charge me for using it?

  • I am not sure about the price.. It will be priced somewhere close to $400...It worth every penny..

No, you will not be charged by your phone company for using your personal or any available wireless connections... it is absolutely free.

  • Cyqed - Only $400????

I was expecting it to be closer to $600

  • I was converting our currency to $.. but i am sure it will be way less than $600..

  • Cyqed - It depends on what you mean by 'our' currency. You don't have a location on your profile page.

I was assuming you were referring to USD currency and I merely converted it to GBP.

  • I am sorry.. I didn't notice that... I was talking about Indian Rupee.. It is 21,000 Indian Rupees.. Around 350 pounds..

  • Cyqed - That's perfectly fine because 350 pounds is roughly near 600 dollars.

  • It is 21000 Indian Rupees.. That is $410.. I am sorry for the trouble.. I should have mentioned the price in Rupees. It would have avoided confusion. More over, electronic items are dirt cheap in India..So that might make a difference.. Sorry for the trouble..

  • Cyqed - It's okay don't worry about it. I'm more shocked at the price because Britain over charges everyone on everything so it'll cost an arm and a leg.

  • Hahaha.. Very true..I guess it is the same case in the US as well.. Things are very cheap in India..

  • Cyqed - I have even another question.

The Nokia homepage claim it uses a miniSD card slot, however every other site says it uses a MicroSD card slot.

Can you tell me which one?
