  • What a brave girl! I was diagnosed 3/1/2004 and my life has been different ever since. I'm 18 and have gotten an insulin pump, which has helped a lot, but I struggle still! I cried when you went from that series of good blood sugars to 500's and 30's, those physically and emotionally draining times! I hate this disease for myself, but even more for my parents. Abbie is amazing and even though I'm older, I look up to her so much! Let's find a cure! I would love to hear from you too!

  • A year and 10 days later...January 17, 2008 our daughter was diagnosed. Thank you for sharing...although it's unbearable to believe anyone actually lives like this, sharing your experience makes it a little easier for those just going through it...

  • Whoa! For once in my whole life, I've found other people who spell their name like I do! Abbie! :D

  • aww i cried..:(

and...shes so brave. I could never get through that. God bless her.

  • What a brave little girl

I was diagnosed at 18 with type 1, so I cannot imagine was it must be like spending a childhood with finger pokes.

  • My name is Abbie.

  • My name is also Abbie, i also have type 1 diabetes, i was diagnosed 16/1/05, aged 9. I understand, but being a teenager with diabetes, i have stopped asking for help and sympathy as you will, it becomes that you control it, it stops controling you. i raise money for diabetes UK to help find a cure. I am just glad what we have has insulin and ways of control. Keep fundraising and coping.

    Abbie x-x-x

  • What a wonderful video! Your use of the monitor readings with the subtitles was powerful! My eyes teared up when you went from 90's to the ups and downs from 40's to 500's. Her look of destain says it all when holding up her monitor at her birthday party. T1 is such a burden, but have faith that God brought it to Abbie and the family for a reason. May your whole family stay strong and in your weakness, reach out for God's strength. From one Abbie to another.

    Abbie

  • i have had diabetes since 1/3/05
