I have Intel core i7 2600 8 GB RAM and GTX 550Ti which is at kind of the same price and I cannot play this game smotthly on ultra in 1920x1080, So it the bottlenecking of the card it self. I gonna buy Radeon HD 7950 next month so this problem wont be an issue to me any more...

@xfire5770 OP is fibbing about something in the description. I'm going to guess the resolution, and maybe some of the settings. At 1680x1050 on only enthusiast settings the 4850 just just over 20fps. He's claiming 35 without fraps on Ultra High. :)

@gustavohuink There was a vid on Crysis maxed-out with a Prescott chip at 3.6ghz. Crysis only takes advantage of 2 cores at most, and hyperthreading is utterly useless in a game. Yes, the CPU is in charge of the physics, but there isn't a constant bombardment physics to be rendered in the game, the rest is left to the GPU. It is way better to have a P4 with a 6990 than it is a 2700K and a 5450 Radeon.

The real "bottleneck" is modern motherboards at 6Gbs.

@SlingerMarshall You cant pair a slow cpu with a fast gpu. The cpu wont be able to keep up, thus the gpu will be bottlenecked. Gpu dependant or not, its best to match components in a similar performance class. My laptop features an i7 2630qm and a HD 6770m to match. Good combo? You bet! (Same principle applies to desktop pc's.)

your comment about the 5770 being twice as fast is false I own and use a 5770 and I also own the 1gb model of the 4850 and the 5770 only gets 3-4 more fps in crysis benchmark and they were getting around the 55fps range
