I just tested out my new 9500i today. We have certain areas where they run speed traps in Wisconsin, when and if a database of known traps is made available to users of the 9500i or detectors like it, then you'll be able to have access to an alert whether it is vascar or just an area where cops choose to sit alot.

from first hand experience the 9500i works better than the V1,have owned a V1 for 3 years,it got ripped off recently,bought the 9500i,it alerts me 3/4 to a mile sooner than my V1 used to,best detector i've ever owned,and that's a lot of em!

Hm.... I don´t know. You know I live in Pasadena, CA and I think here in LA and LA area you can kinda forget using this things because there is so much radar. But if I race thru Death Valley I could use it. But the V1 works fine there too. I dont know ANY speedtramps here in Pasadena or LA. Because I am normally living in Germany most of the time.

I live on a corner where there's at least 2 serious accidents a year for years. One side has a stop sign, the other has the right of way. Time & time again the cause of the accident (several fatal) has been the people running the stop sign, not the people "speeding" down the main road. Speed doesn't kill. Inattentive driving is what gets people killed. Radar detectors give attentive, responsible drivers the information they need to avoid abusive government authority based on flawed logic.

Radar detectors are a citizens right to counter illogically based speed laws. Arbitrary speed laws are the government's attempt to lump every driver into some sort of "safety envelope." The fact of the matter is, the people I see driving recklessly often drive at or below the speed limit. Many times I've passed people driving who are at the speed limit, (yes, I'm speeding) only for the other car to fly through a red light when in fact I stopped & they certainly had time to stop as well.
