  • LSD induced rant. Mike, dial 1-800-rehab

  • please. fuck off.

  • I've seen Mike several times in small clubs in Indy and Ft Wayne. He's just fantastically and naturally talented.

  • 0.0 :-O!!

  • only 17.260 views.... dam what's wrong with this world... I don't get it. Stupid human race.

  • I just saw him on Saturday at a small venue. Let me say first off that whatever videos of his you may find on here, they don't do him justice. To see him in person was repeatedly mind-blowing. As if the caliber of his playing wasn't enough, he's also an amazing showman, is funny and engaging with the audience and seems to be a genuinely decent guy.

Saturday was the first time I've seen him, but it definitely will not be the last. Hit up his website and go see him. You'll be glad you did.

  • @219inDaHouse

I agree 100%, videos don't do this guy justice!

  • This is fucking intense

  • Michael Kelsey is a Freak of Nature...and I mean that in the best possible way...clearly a talent of undescribable proportion. I was extremely priviledged to have known and shared a few extraordinary moments with the late, great Michael Hedges...and my wife was a friend of Mr. Kelsey and the one who turned me on to his amazing playing. This performance (and I've known this song for some time from the studio album) is WATERSHED. If this doesn't blow your mind...there is very little that will.

  • Yo, my name is Stevie Ray davis. i highly doubt that the Michel kelsey is gonna even read this. but if you do.... my videos dont say much for even half of the jams im kicken out. but hey. message me. i dont mess around it would be cool to hear from you.

  • @Stevedavis090 Hey, he's not hard to get ahold of. He can be reached on facebook and myspace. He's a really nice guy. He doesn't mind when people ask questions.

  • great song

  • Listen to his CDs when in the dark and by yourself, and you will be transported to another dimension -- no drugs needed. This guy understands music in ways most can't accept. Yes, I said "music" and not guitar, because he is so much more than a guitarist.

I saw him change a busted guitar string once, and it was while he was playing; he never missed a beat, note, or lyric. This guy defies the realm of possibilities even in simple ways!

  • i saw him today at school! XDDD

  • He is an improviser and he came to our school today..he is awesome

  • if anyone is interested or in indianapolis,, mike is at birdy's sunday nite sept.5th,,, 9 pm,, ill be there,, if you can ,, you dont want to miss this guy play

  • hey didd191 i too have known mike for quite a few years now,, first time i saw him was in franklin indiana,, i have not missed a show since,, that was back in 1996,,, anyone reading this,, this guy is truely amazing,, to see him live in a small setting does beyond anything you may have ever seen before,,,

  • now i know where jack black got his antics in the school of rock

  • I've known Michael for several years now and see him everytime he plays in my town. He is one of the most genuine people you could ever know and has the voice of an angel. Not to mention his limitless ability on any instrument he touches! (you should hear him play the piano....wow!)

  • OK. Some people 'make love". Some people... um... how shall I put it...

  • i love this guy. he is seriously one of the nicest people you will ever meet. im from indiana and he plays in venues really close to our home so we go to him whenever he's around. he taught me a few things.. but i cant play any instrument even if my life depended on it. hes so amazingly talented!

  • Too weird for me. No doubt of his talent though. Amazing.

  • Wow he makes the guitar such a diverse instrument

  • This guy doesn't even have a guitar, just a part of his body that happens to be made of wood and string.

  • 0:37 - 0:40 i wanna slap him for trying to copy vai

  • @OstropoloS That's like saying I want to slap Neil Young for copying Bob Dylan. Damn Neil Young, playing guitar and singing JUST LIKE BOB DYLAN!!!!

  • @gake Just like Bob Dylan? Are you serious?!? I lol'd at your comment...

  • What the hell... there is such a connection between this guy and his instrument like ive never seen before... why am i still playing? xD

No, just kidding, ill never stop playing, noone should, even if there freaks like this guy out there.^^

  • A girl i worked with said he makes amazing breakfast too.....I'm assuming they were lovers. ALSO, several Mcutcheon people have told me that he was on the bus when Shannon Hoon died. Maybe Urban Legend, but thought I'd throw that out there.

  • @traviskearney Yeah dude he was pretty good friends with Shannon so I wouldn't doubt it. I was in the guitar center in Greenwood, Indiana the other day talking to the original bassist for Blind Melon

  • I would guess that he has seen and likes Tommy Emmanuel!

  • he reminds me of stevie ray vaughn

  • Okay, WTF! This is unbelievable! I have never heard those tones come out of an acoustic guitar! Wow, it is really a shame that more people don't know who he is!

  • @Rizzo12388 i know hes amazing he came to my school for a presentation

  • He just played here tonight. Yayyy. He's friends with my mom and he came all the way down to Alabama to play for us and the college. Was well fun. =]

    Ah, Michael is amazing.

  • Wow, Mike. Awesome. I used to play w/

a bunch of the Lafayette dudes, and sometimes at your open mic back at Riverstix. Does that take you back, lol?

Winchell and Rex and Tevi and Mohan, et al.

    How's Tevi doing?

    Anyway, congrats on the recognition.

Sound better than ever. Dave Paul

  • Mike used to play at this dive bar at Purdue University in W. Lafayette, IN called T.A. Tom's every week back in the 1990's. Always blew my mind, so it was good to see him get some attention in the competition. "25 Years" is the name of the tune, and he was putting it together back in the 1990s so it's been through a few variations. Great stuff!

  • Ah, yes...Tom's. I worked for the owner at one of his other establishments. Both are now closed, though...

  • this guy came to our school and played. the mans amazing. he picked up a kids crutch and started playing the guitar w/ it. hes ridiculous.

  • i saw him today for the first time and he played this song... he is AMAZING. in fact, i even told him i loved him. true story.

  • just saw this dude live tonight. he was insane.

  • this guy graduated from my high school and played a show for the seniors. There is just now way to comprehend how good he really is. You would just get dizzy if you tried catching on to what he would do. Unbelievable to see live. I RECOMMEND!!!

  • I am seeing this guy on Wednesday open for the Doobie Brothers. I am VERY MUCH looking forward to it. Man is an amazing musician. You will never see anyone play the acoustic like him.

  • aw that would be a sick show haha, this is the first ive heard this dude, but i love the doobie bros haha there either my 3 or second favorite band man your lucky bro

  • sweet. cheers to that.

  • This has to be the first time I have ever been put into an "AWE TRANCE" I was front and center for this once and a life time concert and saw Micheal perform this very act. This concert was the first time I had ever seen or heard of him and ever since I have bought just about everything he has put out. AMAZING GUY!!! Thank you for this video, been looking for this since the concert.
