They say the crime is accepted.. no it isn't.. its feared.. i lived in philly like all my life until a year ago i moved to florida. and people pull the triggers out of fear, fear that the cops might be too quick. and the families.. they are afraid of their young, its hard to keep people off the streets, its not the city of Brotherly love, more hate and dirty looks and people who feel small and want to make a scene. i miss it, but im glad i moved.

I live in Philly, in Germantown. All this bullshit is because of the "War on Drugs", really a war on people. The War on Drugs is far worse than the actual drugs, and it brings with it all the guns, crime, violence, poverty, gangs, brutality, suffering, and power-tripping cops, who are just another gang. End the war on drugs, since it makes no dent in drug use anyway, and let the addicts smole crack and shoot heroin till they die if that's what they want to do.

Drugs are a problem, but it's the communities themselves which are now reaping the harvest which they have sown after years of irresponsibility, hatred of those who try to help them, "no snitching", and having absolutely ZERO respect for their surroundings--not to mention complete ignorance when it comes to raising children. This documentary is deceptive. 80% of neighborhoods are not like this, the drugs, crime, violence is concentrated mostly into specific neighborhoods in North and West Philly. Most people that live here understand, don't go into those neighborhoods.

I've been a bartender in North Philly here for two years. It is a bit hood over here but if the people in a given community know you, they will leave you in peace. Most of the crime occurs between drug users and salesmen.
