my dad had this exact body mustang, except his was a v6.he sold it when he started the family. You are lucky, one day i'm gonna buy one just like this for him again.
it is nice to see that these cars are still out there and not all fucked up in the junk yard. i have an 83 that has been sitting in my garage for a few years now. i have owned it for 21 years. can not afford to do anything with it now. my girls come first. but i am going to bring it out this summer because i deserve it.
An old friend of mine used to be able to brake torque his 79 mustang indy pace car (302) with a stick shift. It looks like this one is a stick too, but I can't quite see. Is it?
well 79-85 came with slapper bars.they got rid of slapper bars when they went to the 8.8 set up..i know i had to have a 7.5 unit and it had the slapper bar.not i have to get some lift bars and put on mine..
how did you manage to keep the rear end from hopping all over the place? traction bars? adjustable lower control arms? I have a 79 with a beefy 302 in it and I cant keep the rear end planted!
yea i have a pace car too and when i burnout it jumps around! i hate that! what do i need to do to fix it?? its a 4banger turbo and im going to put a rear end out of a 91gt with locktrac... hopefully that will fix it..
cool car, i'm thinking about buying a 1979 mustang for 500 if the people agree to the offer. it's a base 4 cylinder but i'd like to get a 302 and put a pace car front end on it.
Thanks! Ford Racing 292 / 512 with Ford Racing rollers,Edlebrock performer rpm, Holly 650 jetted to 750, MSD, mild head work, motorsport shorty headers, bassani x-pipe&flow tubes with Flowmasters on a 302 bored .40 over.

1985 was a split year for slapper bars and quad shock set up. My 85 has quad shock from the factory they had problems with slapper bars breaking.
AUTOBOT84 2 years ago
1985 never had slapper bars the quad shocks came out in 84

Actually the slappers came out in '82 (HO 5.0) and were replaced by the better handling (supposedly) quad shocks in '85
