Where did you get your sparkles from? I can't find the proper name for them anywhere. It's either called nail polish or glitter.

reply to emmadear: no i didn't mean to sound mean.  i am 50 years old and was a hairdresser for many years. we learned that technique in cosmetology scjool. her nails have yellowed some due to nail polish. i don't think it's gross at all. mine do the same thing. i think it was a professional tip.

my nails look yellowish not because of the nail polish - it's because I dye my hair with henna and don't use gloves! After I wash my hands some pigment is left in the nails, that's it!

i have a tip for you. buy a hair frosting kit and mix up the bleach. just mix it with enough distilled water to thin it out to the consistency of thick pancake syrup. do this in an old bowl that you no longer use. soak your nails in it for about 5 minutes. quickly wash and dry. then moisturize. this will whiten your nails beautifully. it might take doing it once a week for a month or so. careful though. hair bleach is very drying.

watch my "nail care basics" video if u didnt - there i gave some tips to keep the nails healthy and prevent breakage. start with hygienic manicure, buy some curing nail polish, and apply nail oil EVERY night. this should help. plus, try the lemon (more info in "nail care basics" video). good luck!:)
