To be at his concert with my dad is my biggest dream!!!! Here There & Everywhere bautiful song.Always makes me cry... Having been raised on his songs... What one can want more!!!!
Let your own ligth shine!! Ive seen your vids, and you have every rigth and need to be glad and happy about your own playing aswell. George benson is good, but youre better! (If you dont like the way you fell, change the way you think) =)
BENSON, YOU'VE GOT IT AND FOLLOWED YOUR DREAMS, Thats why!!
Some of it sounds like he's playing a descending bass line starting on the minor 3rd. Right on Wes Montgomery - that's where Benson got a lot of his playing from.
my good sir, if you study theory well enough, you'd know that the notes he plays fits with the key everyone else is in. the 'offness' one might here is just new territory (dissonance) that adds new flavor to the song. I mean no one wants to hear someone cover the song with the same chord fingerings and the same exact solos! that's where creativity kicks in!
My point was that in theory every note is related in some way, but that doesn't make it sound good to the average person. The point is to create sounds that work well and are enjoyable. I always hated the excuse jazz musicians used when they sound terrible. OH ITS JUST DISSONANCE. Give me a break.
p.s. The bass player started in C on purpose to sort of pay respect to the original, but then they do Bb cause its Georges rendition.
Mario Bauza, "the father of Latin Jazz" from Havana, Cuba. He was a multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, music director, etc. He wrote it sometime in 1952. This man played with Gillespie, Calloway, Kenton, and all these heavy cats in that era. I think he passed in 1993. RIP Mario.

The lyrics sound like a commercial, but that doesn't matter.

written by Mario Bausa according to sheet music I see here infront of me...
That's kinda funny too...the name looks too much like Mario Bowser(Bowsa or something lol)
anyways that's the composer.
