I just had a baby girl 2 days ago so thankfully I don't have to deal with this issue yet. But take it from a man who has experienced both, circumcision is a completely unnecessary barbaric and draconian practice. It doesn't keep you cleaner, especially in the age of showers. Mogen has claimed that it is impossible to damage the penis when using their circumcision tool. Surgery is something that you should do ONLY if extremely necessary. I had my son and decided not to circuncise him and because of my decision I was criticized a lot by friends and even the nurses at the hospital. I was very scared that they would just get my son and circuncise him without me knowing that I wouldn't let he go anywhere with the nurses alone. I am proud of my decision and I think that my son will be gratefull when he is old enough to understand the situation. God made us perfect!

If i do have a boy (finding out aug 27) i will circumsise just for the fact that infections are sooo likely in that situations, and a lot of health concerns go along with being uncircumsised. This decision is mainly up to the parents, and i feel it is soo conrovertial.

We were faced w/ this decision just 1 1/2 months ago... Our son would be from two sides of families that are ALL circumcised, even his father. When it came down to the 'right' decision for us, we left him intact. For us, there was NO REASON what so ever to cut off the foreskin. God made him the way he was born, no need for alterations. Now that he is 6 weeks old, I am so glad we didnt' go another route, I would have regretted it.

I am not circunsised and am very glad my parents never did it. The argument saying that it is cleaner couldon't be further from the truth. The fact is the skin protects the glans and keep it moisterised ant therefore more sensetive during sex, not to mention that the skin itself is very sensetive it is almost the equivalent of the laidies clitoris.

I feel so bad for the sufferers of BIID (bodily integrity identity disorder) who get seduced by our sick society to elect to have exquisite sensual tissue amputated in adulthood. After over three decades without a foreskin I had no choice but to restore.
- the skin at the pucker of the prepuce is very ticklish to tongue flicking when it is bunched up. Since I didn't have enough to bunch up before, I never felt this sensation.
- the inner foreskin is delightfully aware of a tongue plunged in between the glans and foreskin and swirled around (with skin drawn forward over the glans). Since I didn't have enough slack before for this to happen, I never felt this sensation.
- the corona and frenular area are a lot more sensitive/ticklish now that they are covered all the time. All I know is I feel a lot more now. It's like the nerve endings are closer to the surface, which is more supple and delicate so it tracks better with whatever it's touching. It's like going from wearing 3 thick condoms to a single ultra-shear one. Anybody can experiment with the same change by wearing a band-aid continuously for several days on any part of their body.
If somebody even suggested presenting data about the benefits of female circumcision, he would be scoffed at. Now, while I know biological differences hurt the analogy, it simply seems absurd that a natural mechanism would prove in need of immediate removal just because it can cause problems. We do not remove the tonsils and the appendix of infants just because "they might get infected."
People are appalled by the idea of female circumcision, but they think that male circumcision is a "personal choice" for parents to make. I don't have a problem with someone choosing to modify their own body, but I don't think circumcisions should be performed with out a medical reason or the consent of the individual. I had a son in August and i'm proud to say that anything that happens to his penis will be his choice. Unfortunately many man aren't given a choice.
WATCH your child carefully in any medical setting Ive heard that there have been SEVERAL children that go in for surgery (appendix tonsils etc) and come out with a circumcision as well without direct informed consent. there is a clause in all surgical consent forms to allow a surgeon to use HIS or HER judgement on surgery in other areas without going back for further consent . I beleive it is called "extension of surgery" some older adults have had this done to them during a heart bypass!

My reason for deciding on my child getting circumcised was that since there are infections and complications that can occur later on in life.. I don't want my kid to end up having to be circumcised later on.. I undestand that it is hard to hurt a baby, but it seems worse to me to be 15+ fully aware that your penis is about to get hacked on.. Maybe that doesn't happen often, but that sounds terrible to me. I do not know anyone who did not get their child circumcised in my age group of mothers.
I just had a baby girl 2 days ago so thankfully I don't have to deal with this issue yet. But take it from a man who has experienced both, circumcision is a completely unnecessary barbaric and draconian practice. It doesn't keep you cleaner, especially in the age of showers. July 19 2010 Atlanta Journal. Maker of the Mogen circumcision clamp is sued and the Court awarded a 10.8 million dollar judgement. The infant lost the entire glans of his penis. Mogen has claimed that it is impossible to damage the penis when using their circumcision tool. Mogen was also sued when use of their device resulted in an infant boy loosing 1/3 of his glans in 2009. Mogen is already in default on a $7.5 million judgement from 2007

A circumcized penis is always uglier than the natural version, even the best made procedures. let your child choose. the foreskin will recede and break apart from the rim of the glans. plus, it is not akin to Christian idiosincratic ritual practices . Check out the apostle Peter's take on this in the NT. Circumcision is a barbaric practice. The procedure should only be applied on boys who present an abnormally tight foreskin and it is normally done by the age of 8-10.

If after puberty there is still no retraction (and he is bothered by this- plenty of grown men aren't), there is stretching (google 'Beauge Method'), steroid cream, & lastly, the dorsal slit, all of which leave the child the benefits of his foreskin.

Cont: I would like to see some good quality research done on the rate of the mother giving consent or requesting the proceedure without consent by the father (providing he is known and a part of the baby's life) because when it comes down to it, I would bet that women make the circumcision alone much more than it is made as a couple. Circumcision is bullshit. It is religious in origin, nothing more. Pure and simple it is genital mutilation and it removes much of the sexual sensation (depending on the severity of the circumcision) a man might otherwise experience.
This trade mark of "a covenant with god" has weaseled it's way into the medical profession and been rationalized through a campaign of lies and bullshit. The practice of involuntary circumcision (babies don't give consent) is Western medicine's greatest shame.

It is not just a "little snip"; when born, the foreskin is adhered to the glans of the penis. They forcefully tear the foreskin away from the glans by use of a clamp, and then cut it off around the penis. Babies' bodies cannot handle the amount of anaesthesia required to stop the pain of this amputation without risk of death, so they go through the entire thing feeling EVERY EXCRUCIATING moment of it! Not to mention the foreskin has high amounts of nerve endings! It is TORTURE!!

IT IS NOT UP TO THE PARENTS. You are WRONG. It is not comparable to "not using a little toe/appendix, so should we remove it?". It HAS plenty of uses! The foreskin is a fully functional part of the penis and has several purposes, such as fighting infection, lubricating and protecting, and it is FOUR TIMES MORE SENSITIVE than the next sensitive part of the penis -- it is comparable to removal of the clitoris in this respect. It is AGONIZINGLY painful to the baby as well.

Circumcision is only a "debate" (referring to 1:30 in the video) because it was done without good reason for the longest time. If a justification can not be provided, then circumcision is and always has been sexual violence against men. Pick your decade and for each decade there was a unique medical justification. As quickly as the medical "reasons" have been contrived from shoddy studies they have been debunked by credible scientists and doctors.

However, comparing piercing ears to circumcision is ignorant and insensitive. A piercing is not an amputation. Your earlobes don't contain 20,000 sexually specialized erogenous nerves (which don't exist anywhere else on your body). Piercings go away over time, amputations do not come back.

Surgery is something that you should do ONLY if extremely necessary. I had my son and decided not to circuncise him and because of my decision I was criticized a lot by friends and even the nurses at the hospital. I was very scared that they would just get my son and circuncise him without me knowing that I wouldn't let he go anywhere with the nurses alone. I am proud of my decision and I think that my son will be gratefull when he is old enough to understand the situation. God made us perfect!

Seems there are more benefits to circumsision than to be uncircumsised. just my opinion but you are right, it is ultimatley the mothers and fathers concern.

If i do have a boy (finding out aug 27) i will circumsise just for the fact that infections are sooo likely in that situations, and a lot of health concerns go along with being uncircumsised. This decision is mainly up to the parents, and i feel it is soo conrovertial.

We were faced w/ this decision just 1 1/2 months ago... Our son would be from two sides of families that are ALL circumcised, even his father. When it came down to the 'right' decision for us, we left him intact. For us, there was NO REASON what so ever to cut off the foreskin. God made him the way he was born, no need for alterations. Now that he is 6 weeks old, I am so glad we didnt' go another route, I would have regretted it.

I am not circunsised and am very glad my parents never did it. The argument saying that it is cleaner couldon't be further from the truth. The fact is the skin protects the glans and keep it moisterised ant therefore more sensetive during sex, not to mention that the skin itself is very sensetive it is almost the equivalent of the laidies clitoris.
All we men have to do is whash it, in case u don't know the foreskin is retractable. All kids need to know is to retract it and wash it.

cont I have heard baby's dying from losing blood from having the procedure done due infection and also for making a cut too far down which there have been times when a vein has been sniped but cases are very too and far between. Theres also an argument does the foreskin have a job because some specialists say it protects the penis from infection also in rare cases lose some feeling on the outside of the penis at times too. question is this procedure really needed apart fr being a jew of course.

Since restoring:
- the skin at the pucker of the prepuce is very ticklish to tongue flicking when it is bunched up. Since I didn't have enough to bunch up before, I never felt this sensation.
- the inner foreskin is delightfully aware of a tongue plunged in between the glans and foreskin and swirled around (with skin drawn forward over the glans). Since I didn't have enough slack before for this to happen, I never felt this sensation.

People are appalled by the idea of female circumcision, but they think that male circumcision is a "personal choice" for parents to make. I don't have a problem with someone choosing to modify their own body, but I don't think circumcisions should be performed with out a medical reason or the consent of the individual. I had a son in August and i'm proud to say that anything that happens to his penis will be his choice. Unfortunately many man aren't given a choice.

WATCH your child carefully in any medical setting Ive heard that there have been SEVERAL children that go in for surgery (appendix tonsils etc) and come out with a circumcision as well without direct informed consent. there is a clause in all surgical consent forms to allow a surgeon to use HIS or HER judgement on surgery in other areas without going back for further consent . I beleive it is called "extension of surgery" some older adults have had this done to them during a heart bypass!

My reason for deciding on my child getting circumcised was that since there are infections and complications that can occur later on in life.. I don't want my kid to end up having to be circumcised later on.. I undestand that it is hard to hurt a baby, but it seems worse to me to be 15+ fully aware that your penis is about to get hacked on.. Maybe that doesn't happen often, but that sounds terrible to me. I do not know anyone who did not get their child circumcised in my age group of mothers.
