I thought I would never watch the death scene but it was really the ONLY love scene we got to watch between Luke and Reid so I did wind up watching it. I finally saw Luke REALLY tell Reid he loves him and beg him not to leave him. Finally got to see Luke kissing Reid's bare shoulder, even if it WAS after he was dead! Small crumbs for the fans but we have to take what we can get. I have NEVER watched the last scene between Luke & NOah and dont intend to..ever! For me, that never happened.
Idea; the train wreck that lands ried in hospital is all a fantasy of NOAH! He wakes up-realizes it was jhust a dream,cries like a baby not to have his fav punching bag(Luke) and looks up Ameera.
Then,after they ride off to the sun set to make childrens tv shows in CA, Luke tells Reid "The coast is clear'! He leaves work to have a long-awaited time of love with his bf. Meanwhile -Noah's dream comes TRUE-for CHRIS!-A massive train hits HIM.~BUT he dies from overacting,. THE END.
Yeah, poor Luke indeed. He has a crazy-ass family of unhinged people unable to stay married for more than a month,a ton of money-but he never goes anywhere or does anything but hang around the hospital hoping to see Reid-but the writers don't let them alone-so now he'll be stuck with a cold-fish,sexless bf-Noah Vader!

Once he left everything started to be kind of awkward. I think that what ever happend to Mr. Kreizman had something to do with JP, not sure though. With JP as one of the writers on OLTL, they'll probably be the next to get axed.

CG and JP IMHO are jealous that their characters are not as popular and hacked away at the Reid character to make him a prop for the douche bag Chris. And again Yes. My mother is a OLTL fan. I know that everyone hates to see Reid dying, so do I. But, even though it is utterly homophobic, at least we get to see Eric and Van at their best. A goodbye scene like this? I'm sure we're all going to cry our eyes out. Why? Not because they kill off Reid, but because Eric and Van will kill us with their killer performances!

Straight character/s - guaranteed happy ending; It does not matter how many crimes you have committed, how many times you have cheated/married/divorced, how talentless and unpopular you are.
Gay character/s - guaranteed unhappy ending/devastation/heartbreak/and even tragic death; It does not matter that you are a sincere, honest, loving, caring, and wonderful individual, and in this case highly qualified and professionally successful.
CG and JP have the nerve to call this end heroic. It is cowardly of CG and JP to sacrifice a gay character (extremely talented, highly qualified and successful professional, highly rated, and most of all a wonderful individual) to save a straight character (talentless and with 0% rating). It is an out and out case of 100% homophobia.
On the days CG and JP die in RL (preferably in tragic accidents), I would make an exception and celebrate with champagne (I do not consume any alcoholic beverage)the unloading of two scum bags from this earth. And, I would not feel guilty at all. They played with the feelings and emotions of millions of LURE fans. They betrayed our fidelity, loyalty, and trust. CG and JP will never, never be happy after playing games with the masses.

I keep telling my self it's a TV show .... a SOAP OPERA for God's sake . This may sound silly but this is the most romantic story I have ever been so emotionally involved with . I don't have a tendency into watching or reading love stories unlike my older sister . But my life did contain love stories of its own which ended up badly . It might not be death but alot of ugly things in life can keep you from being with person you love most .
@FreedomOfLoss I know, I've never been this CONSUMED and now DEVASTATED by a goddamn show. I think a big part was that ESS just was such a breath of fresh air to the show, and seemed so real and was so well written, and then he and Van started developing this really nice slow burn of chemistry. People just can't help but be drawn in by that. And now to have it so gruesomely shot down - it is just unbearable. I feel like I have been taken for a massive head trip in a way.

I was similar to Reid in that I was a science geek with books and research and no people skills or social life. If CG, JP, and ATWT had this ridiculous end to the incredibly wonderful, absolutely beautiful, and heart-touching LURE love story; they should not have told this story at all. This is like fattening a calf just before its slaughter. They mesmerized LURE fans only to break our hearts in miilions of pieces. They have to be monsters or spawns of the devil to inflict such cruelty.
Even though we are straight (my GF and me), we have been strong advocates of NO discrimination of any kind. We (ardent admirers of LURE) sincerely hope and pray that the producers, writers, and sponsorers of ATWT will be brought to task and pay big time for the ruthless destruction of one of most beautiful love stories (straight or gay) told in soap history. If they had this horrendous ending in mind, they should not have created LURE at all.

Let us all cross our fingers and pray that MAYBE just MAYBE Chris got a different heart, and they did one of those STUPID editing things and put Katie's reaction from a different moment in to make us think it was Reid's. Maybe Reid just thought he was going to die, and doesn't know that they found Chris another heart?

CG and JP of ATWT may get all awards and accolades for their so called dramatic LURE ending, maybe they can take those trophies to their graves. They sold out the loyal viewers and fans and did not care a damn. They will never get the love, respect, and trust of the fans. The worst part is, this has broken the faith for most of viewers when it comes to happy endings for gay character/s on any American shows (Is America really a free and liberal country???)

To give everyone a happy ending except Luke & Reid, the best couple on this show is just ludicrous.I hope that Cg and JP get exactly what they so rightfully deserve.

If Van, Eric, and Jake were so concerned about their loyal fanbase; why didn't they voice their opinions to the two idiots, CG and JP. I am amazed that Eric liked the way his role on ATWT ended. Once he left everything started to be kind of awkward. I think that what ever happend to Mr. Kreizman had something to do with JP, not sure though. With JP as one of the writers on OLTL, they'll probably be the next to get axed.

Straight character/s - guaranteed happy ending; It does not matter how many crimes you have committed, how many times you have cheated/married/divorced, how talentless and unpopular you are.

Eventhough I knew it was coming and prayed for it not to, here it is. I think my emotions are splattered all over -- sadness, outrage, disbelief, crushed. . . I thought I'd been hit by a train when Kish bowed out -- hell, that was a Cat 1 compared to this. To watch both Luke and Reid change as they moved closer was shear ecstasy. I have to give the writers kudos for that; it was simply amazing, done by the two best actors on any soap. But, to be gutted at the end . . . it's pathetic.

I keep telling my self it's a TV show .... a SOAP OPERA for God's sake . This may sound silly but this is the most romantic story I have ever been so emotionally involved with . I don't have a tendency into watching or reading love stories unlike my older sister . But my life did contain love stories of its own which ended up badly . It might not be death but alot of ugly things in life can keep you from being with person you love most .

@FreedomOfLoss I know, I've never been this CONSUMED and now DEVASTATED by a goddamn show. I think a big part was that ESS just was such a breath of fresh air to the show, and seemed so real and was so well written, and then he and Van started developing this really nice slow burn of chemistry. People just can't help but be drawn in by that. And now to have it so gruesomely shot down - it is just unbearable. I feel like I have been taken for a massive head trip in a way.

@FreedomOfLoss: I hope and pray that you will find true and everlasting love. Never give up hope. I was similar to Reid in that I was a science geek with books and research and no people skills or social life. And then a wonderful woman (now my long-term GF) came and taught me that life was more than just work. Like Luke brought Reid out of his shell, my GF taught me what loving, caring, and sharing was. There is someone out there exclusively made for you.

If CG, JP, and ATWT had this ridiculous end to the incredibly wonderful, absolutely beautiful, and heart-touching LURE love story; they should not have told this story at all. This is like fattening a calf just before its slaughter. They mesmerized LURE fans only to break our hearts in miilions of pieces. They have to be monsters or spawns of the devil to inflict such cruelty.

Even though we are straight (my GF and me), we have been strong advocates of NO discrimination of any kind. We (ardent admirers of LURE) sincerely hope and pray that the producers, writers, and sponsorers of ATWT will be brought to task and pay big time for the ruthless destruction of one of most beautiful love stories (straight or gay) told in soap history. If they had this horrendous ending in mind, they should not have created LURE at all.

We praise and thank God that our reality is absolutely beautiful unlike LURE (our RL love is surprisingly very similar to this beautiful fictional love story) which is ending in ashes. Now, I have to man up and console my GF who is a sobbing mess.

LURE fans: I know that we are in total pain, suffering, misery, and hurting extremely. CG, JP, ATWT confirmed how cruel, cold, ruthless, and merciless they are with their atrocious and senseless LURE ending. They also confirmed that they are 100% homophobes and that they care 0% about their faithful viewers and fans. They may have killed Reid but they can NEVER kill his presence in Luke's and our hearts forever .

Utterly heartbreaking. Seriously not one of these characters deserves what they get from Luke to Chris. He didn't take care of his own heart, why should he get someone elses. Reid was just learning how to use his heart, he should keep it.

Let us all cross our fingers and pray that MAYBE just MAYBE Chris got a different heart, and they did one of those STUPID editing things and put Katie's reaction from a different moment in to make us think it was Reid's. Maybe Reid just thought he was going to die, and doesn't know that they found Chris another heart?

that's why I didn't want to get caught with gay storylines on US soaps.. I refused to watch Kish despite everyone was telling me how good they were and I was right seen the way their story ended! Anyway I couldn't resist Dr Reid's charm and here I am.. distraught.
