i think youve got to look at both versions in diffrent ways, gillans was a powerful rock version ,lovettsa country version, with a touch of soul, whatever version you choose,to me they both sound good,sorry great,i like both ,at the end of the day its a great song, no matter what version you like

Ian Gillan's version of this song is just the best. Gillan (Deep Purple's vocalist) sings this song LIKE NO OTHER!!!
