they should all be like that. a politician that pulls for his people is just short of a miracle in this day and age. thank you for standing up for us.
For all the greens who oppose drilling our own oil. You should know that as gas prices go up American jobs go over seas to countries that produce 4 times as much co2 to produce the same goods. Until we have a viable alternative we need to drill our own oil and lower prices.
If your counting on that to be our saving grace then we're in a lot of trouble. By the time its more economic for us to produce in the USA due to fuel cost it won't matter anymore because it also won't be economic for us to heat our homes or shop anywhere that requires us to start our cars, but I'm sure thats a perfect world for some.
It's already more economic for us to produce items like furniture in the US.Most buisness models rely on cheap oil, take the airlines for instance. We are in a lot of trouble for sure and there is no such thing as a perfect world for anyone.
This message is an abomination. Rep. McCotter has access to put a bill in the hopper. He shouldn't be signing and promoting electioneering petitions. Instead his bill (H.RES.419) is for a National Dog Bite Prevention Week.
A competent congressman would be promoting a bill to removes legislative restrains on Americans' freedom to engage in trade that he or she had sponsored, and championing a discharge petition.
I hope that Rep. McCotter fails to win re-election based upon incompetence. Such stupidity is why the Republicans lost control of Congress. This do-nothing is the chair of the House Republican Policy Committee.
Your an abonimation. The American people will not be held like slaves to you people any more we will awaken from this fantasy world u and the bush adminstration has perpetuated.
Please elaborate. Allowing companies to drill is a small step in the right direction.
Will you limit environmental based lawsuits that have NIMBY (not in my back yard) or BANANA (build absolutely nothing anywhere near anything) as their goals?
What is off limits? Will giant redwoods be covered with solar panels?
Will the federal lands be given away? Sold? Leased? May Greenpeace buy the land? Will mineral rights be bundled separately? Will the federal use of energy be cut, EVER?
how about we keep borowing money from China to pay for Middle East oil? Does that make more sense to you? We could crawl under those Redwood trees and pray to the butterfly God to save us from those who want to kill more than the Rainforest.
I get your point, but the times they are a changing and we're either gonna sink or swim. Come on DUDE, Join the common sense movement.
Besides, no one is talking about cutting down the trees, banana head.
I'm just saying that drilling is only one piece of the puzzle.
We need to put a lid on how long lawyers can tie up the development process (not just for energy).
The treehuggers stand in the way of water desalination, wind power, nuclear, drilling, refineries, natural gas storage & distribution facilities, new housing...
Are we stopping with drilling & no refineries? Where is this energy policy going?

As oil prices rise, shipping becomes less and less viable.American companies will be forced to come back home.

I'm so sick of people bashing the speculators.
If America announces it will drill here and drill now, and we are serious, the speculators will drive the prices down NOW so we can pay less.
