  • How to add German Characters. On a PC computer (for example with Windows XP) go to the Control Panal. Click on Regional and Languages. Then on the TAB Languages. Click on German (Germany). Then Click OK. A language box will show in your TOOLBAR. If it says EN, that's English. Click on it. A List of the languages you have selected will appear. Üü is next to letter P, Ö ä are beside Letter L, ß is the English Hyphen. The y and z are switched. Good Luck.

  • Yeah, I am sorry for this inconvenience. However, I have managed to use the real Umlaute in the latest lesson :)

  • thanks :)

  • Please use the german Umlaute for correct spelling: Ää, Öö.,Üü + ß

  • I don't have them on my keyboard... would have to copy paste them in...

  • @meroba34 u can use the letter "e" following the vowel to stand in for the Umlaute.

  • @HesseJamez: using “ue, ae, oe” and “ss” is the official recommended alternative for people who can’t type umlauts or the sharp s with their keyboard. So, everything’s fine :)
