Our Ferret loves our Spooky the thing What Squeeks toy... It's how we're training her to come when called...

She doesn't cry like that anymore- she use to when we first got her- at night when she woke up.. but now she sleeps through most the night... sometimes :X

My ferrets (i have 4) when i cant find em i squeak one of there (MANY) squeaky toys and they all come running outa nowhere :) but when they reach the toy...they clamp their little teeth on it, wont let go for nothing in the world, wait for ME to let go, and i dont see it again for another month... My Bandit has em hidden ALLLLL over the house. But my ferrets dont get distressed when they hear it, they actually get really playful and start doing the War Dance. LOL

That's a very young ferret. What you're hearing is a young kit's cry.  It's not that he doesn't like the sound it's that he thinks it's another ferret in distress. I had one ferret years ago that would run up hissing and biting my toes if I squeezed a similar sounding toy.

Hahaha hey there, my ferret used to make that noise too. I have a video of it in my YouTube profile. It's called "Yoshi Dooking."

From what I've heard, ferret kits will make that sound in response to many squeaky toys. This is because their mothers use a similar sound to call out to them when they are young.

My ferret eventually grew out of it, but now I can have her come to me from anywhere by just squeaking a toy. It's a good training tool.

I've seen such behaviour only once. This is how my ferret reacted to a squeaking plush toy. When I squeezed the toy my ferret went crazy. She attacked everyone in the room and was making almost identical sound like yours. Then she tried to reach the toy by climbing on me.

Interesting thing is that such incident never happened again - ferret just stopped reacting to the toy's voice after one day.

That is AWESOME!!!! LOL!!!! I've heard ferrets "dook", hiss and bark, but I have never heard a sound like that! Obi almost sounded like a sheep making the "Baaa!" noise. Too cute.
