Yea, the stock has two plugs, which you can take out and put batteries into hollowed out compartments. It's similar to VLTOR's stocks in that respect.
Can anyone with serious knowledge about piston ar15's maybe tell me which to choose between the lwrc m6a3 and the lmt cqb defender piston. ( I will be getting the 16 inch regardless.)
I don't have a lot of experience with either weapon. After a lot of research and thought I went with the LMT CQB MRP16 piston rifle. I've heard that some LWRC owners were having problems with the parts in the piston system. LMT uses a single rod where as LMT uses multiple pieces. One of these pieces has a cup (like a gas key) that has either chipped or broke making the rifle not cycle. I believe the problem has been fixed since. But I'd rather have fewer moving parts. Just MHO, hope that helps
@ObviouslyBoredKid There is nothing wrong with a piston gun. Especially if you buy a LWRC or LMT rifle. There are many platforms running a piston system.
i've found plenty videos on other rifles... LMT is a little known company on the large market. so i understand that. sometime in december i'll have my LMT, if it wasn't for our president i'd have it two months ago!!!
But yeah, you're right, LMT is less known for their complete rifles, I suppose moreso for their Crane stock & Recievers. Well, maybe you can be the first to do a LMT review :)
Yes, LMT has been making Mil Spec rifles for the Military and Law Enforcement for years. The operators on the battlefield and swat teams across the globe swear by them. Just recently within like the last two years LMT started making semi-auto AR's for the civilian market. They're are not known as well as other companies cause they haven't been making civilian rifles as long. But they are growing in popularity with the civi's.
thank you, ive been trying to choose between them and bushmaster, oh and one more thing. bushmasters uppers dont say what caliber they take, do all of them take 5.56 and .223?
usually you'll find caliber chamber info on the lower receiver of an AR. I'd say any time you come across an AR that doesn't have this info it's more than likely chambered in .223, I only say this cause Mil spec rifles are all chambered in 5.56 and would say so being they are Mil Spec. Bushmaster comes in either or. Just find the one you want, do some research. I've never shot a bushmaster. Don't know to much about them, other than they do make very nice rifles.
also... a rifle that says it's chambered in .223 is only made to shoot .223 A rifle chambered in 5.56 can shoot both .223 and of course 5.56 and lastly, LMT may cost a bit more (depending) but with the MRP (monolithic rail platform) series of their AR's come with quick detach barrels, allowing you to swap out for a 6.8!!! that's a great selling point!
bushmaster has a vast array of calibers... Just depends on what you want. 5.56 or .50 cal beowulf. The new Bushmaster ACR (aka Magpul Masada) comes in 5.56 6.8 and 7.62x39. Not sure what you mean by "they dont say"
If your choice is between LMT and a Bushy, I'd definately take the LMT. Their Quality assurance is second to none and they really pay alot of attention to the details. They also test and function check every single rifle that comes off the line. Not 1 out of every 100 or so like Bushmaster. Don't get me wrong Bushmaster makes a fine rifle it's just that LMT's are more sought after in the AR community. Now if money's no object then look at the Noveske's!! They're ultra Badass!
Thats why I went with LMT! Small companies can pay more attention to detail. Also LMT has been in the market of providing very high quality rifles for the military and law enforcement for nearly 25 years.
....also I forgot to say that Bushmaster barrel's only have a 1 in 9" twist rate while LMT, Colt and Noveske offer a 1 in 7". Basically that means your limited to just the 55 grain ammo. If you wanna shoot the 69 or 77 grain stuff you need the 1 in 7" twist rate (faster) to stabilize the heavier bullets. Hope I made ur decision a little easier and not harder. Happy shooting!
Yes, a 1/7 twist will stabilize 55 grain all the way up to 77 grain. Not that you ever will but it's nice to know you have the option. Now anything heavier than that you can't shoot out of an AR anyway because the bullets are too long to fit in an AR mag.
i need to check the dictionary for the word spendy... does it mean cheap? i guess so, you seem to hate spendy stuff! LOL though LMT is not cheaply made, LMT produces some very nice rifles and other products. LaRue is very nice as well.
Try cleaning them as soon as you get home from shooting, or even in the field. And always zip your pants up after pissing.
