This way you're adding 10 and subtracting 3 from the previous configuration each time.

This kinda works for 4:
Multiplying by 4, so lower the 4th finger down, giving 30 on the left.
Then lower 4 fingers twice, and you find that you want to lower 2 more fingers than you have, giving -2 on the right.
So, it's like 3 in the 10s column and -2 in the units column, or 28.
And for 5 it's 40 and -5 to give 35.
I reckon.
