  • Cool! that´s one question everybody makes when they one to buy this little amp...did you make any modifications to it? like speaker swapping or anything ?

  • Did you use a setup with the power control to use it with the mic, or is using those 30watt with the mic

  • Ihave a question... mine got all floppy on me. Does this mean the tube needs to be replaced? and if so... how in gods name do you get to it! =O

  • hey guys i need some advice.

this amp or a peavey bandit 65(old version of the 112)

i can get both for around 100

i play a lot of metal and I do have a guitar processor.

  • how does this hold up gig-wise without being mic'd?

  • @LiamBamBam It IS mic'd

  • Just bought one of these and I am more than pleased with mine. I was looking for a real nice clean tone and was able to get several out of the VT30. What amp model/settings were you using? Real nice playing btw.

  • @js091402

Was using the boutique clean with a tube screamer and some delay.

  • Great tone, I want one

  • was this miced?

  • @BreakB97598

    as you can see.

  • Hi guitardaze, I have an AD30VT that I have used with a trio I used to work with, and even whan it was un-mic'd, they often asked me to turn it down:-) Great playing and a superb tone keep it up, fantastic example of just how good these amps are in the right hands, your tone is spot-on.

  • i have to try one of these out at least. I'm looking to upgrade my solid-state Vox Pathfinder (bought for roughtly £50 partly because it looked like a miniture AC15).

I'm looking at a VT30 at the very least, it's got to be a farily substantial upgrde to justify the expense of buying a new amp! I'm after something more tube-like, but if it's loud enough for a small gig - it's a bonus I s'pose.

the vt100 though would no doubt be perfect live, and a proper giggle, but a bit impractical maybe?

  • @SmithersJones87 the vt30 is a great amp, but if you can get the vt100. it a has some extra features as well asthe powerknob on the back so it can get to 30 watts.

  • @SmithersJones87 u should get the VT50, it can get very loud! but sounds great at any volume because of the watt control knob on the back of the amp. You can hear the difference the tube makes and the 8 channels are extremely useful. However it is quite heavy, but nothing like the weight of the 100 watt. Another good thing is that, on the 50 you have the option of extending the amp to a cabinet if there ever was a need to and you get the bigger speaker built in the amp. Hope this helps

  • The vt50 will realy be loud enough to handle a small gig, and also an avarage one, even lage gigs if u plug an external cab in it, wich is possible at the 50 and 100 watt. And yes, the 50 is much more easy to carry around :P

  • Thanks for the advice everyone :)

  • i have a gibson les paul standard with a VT30 VOX speaker too .... and i agree this sound is awesome!! playin with a band is no problem.. the sounds are powerfull or clean in a very great tone!!! LOVE IT!!

    sry for bad english :D

  • is it still loud when not mic'd and can you hear it well over drums in practices and clubs and shit

  • Im thinking about buying this amp...i had posted some question asking if it was loud enough to play live...this clears everything up...good playing by the way!

  • Just don't do what I did which was play a small bar gig at full volume - lost my speaker in the middle of the second to song of the set. Up until then, the amp was singing. Could a power surge have caused that? Any how, replacing the stock speaker with an Eminence RamRod.

  • I mean ill be playing at church so i think ill be good lol...thanx man!

  • nice tone. i would go see your band :)

  • what settings to get that sound? i loved it

  • I just purchased this amp and was wondering what it would sound like miked

in a live setting, you certainly cleared that up! and by the way I am glad you keep the drummer in a cage I feel safer already.

  • What setting is that? Sounds like the SRV one!

  • I played with a 15 watt vox in a 4 piece band, just a garage practice but damn.. Vox's15 watt can crank some serious ass.

    I can't imagine a 100 watt

Is the amp mic'd? Or is it just by itself?

  • You can see that it is mic'd .

  • nice video! i like it so much! one question... you think i can get a clean sound like nirvana´s clena guitar with the vt-30? Thanks

  • Post a longer clip. There's lots of guys playing these alone but very few being played in their intended venues. POST A LONGER CLIP. Nice playing by the way.

  • is it possible if i brought my vt30 to the shops to be modified so its possible to hook it up to a cabinet.

  • It is a very simple mod. Even simpler is the one that lets you still hear the main speaker while plugging the line out into the house desk.

  • but there isnt any jacks for it.

  • No, you have to add one. That isn't hard. For the line out mod, you just wire a link across the switch contacts on the jack. Better still, make it a switch so you can choose whether to use the mod or not.

  • lol sounds a bit hard. does is cost much.

  • No, just the price of a jack and a few inches of wire, provided you are a good enough tech to drill the holes and do the soldering yourself. Otherwise any competent tech should be able to do the whole thing in an hour.

  • cheers man. When i decide to get a cabinet ill do it. :D

  • btw if i buy a 30watt amp, is it good for useing at home, neighbours near :P

  • theres a power sqeezer on this i think there is on the 50 watt anyway

  • yeah theres one on the VT-30 too

  • i'm looking at buying one of these. Did you have to mic it to play a gig and is it possible to hook it up to a cabinet to get it louder?

  • I always mic my amps when I play live. This 30 watt version can't hook up to a cab but I think the 50 watt version can.

  • do you think it's possible to play a smaller venue with that amp without a mic?

  • @thejoshman117

It should be plenty of volume. The amp has an attenuator on the back... Most store salespeople wisely turn this down. You'll find it can really be loud if you adjust this knob. If I owned a VT30 I'd convert it into a head and use a larger cabinet with it. This way you get the bass response too. (It already has the volume)

  • Great tone. Is this the newer Vox Valvetronix with 22 amp models or the older one with 11 amp models?

  • The newer one with 22 amps.

  • That bass sounds like somebody farting in a tube...

  • Hey don't talk that way about our bass player or I will have to send him after you. :)

  • Was that the original speaker in the vt30 ?

because i read that a lot of people change the speaker to a celestion g10 vintage..

  • original speaker. I should change it though. I bet it would help tons and tones. ;)

  • I think I was using the boutique clean mod, but I was pushing a tube screamer through it.

  • very very nice.

love the blues tone, what mod do u use?

  • gotta get this amp ...
