This tutorial was very helpful, I had no idea how to finish a scarf. I tried to do it without a tutorial, but that didn't work out so well, so I decided to watch this tutorial, and it was very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks a bunch! I finally decided to finish a scarf I started a few years ago, and of course by now I didn't remember how to take it off the loom. Good tutorial.
I really enjoyed this, it was the simplest way to cast off a long loom, for me. I had one problem though. When I finish using the crochet hook to braid the end I was left with a single loop. I had no idea what to do with it. Can you tell what I did wrong? Thanks.
Your tutorial doesn't really work, I mean I was finishing a scarf for a Christmas present and the whole thing unraveled because of this! (super sad face :()
@DashGalea OHHHHH NOOOO Not sure why that happened??? I have used this method many times and it alwaysworks fine???? So sorry to hear that happened!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have had the hardest time finishing my scarves and you helped me finally get it. Can't wait to finish my next one.
thanks so much for your video. i just bought a loom and with your help finished my first scarf!! the instruction book that came with the loom was hard to read and relate too...the pictures were very small and in black and white...so, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! you made it so easy and simple.
Thank you so much, your a gift saver, Im making all these scarfs for Christmas( i know its june but at one point ill get bored for awhile), lost my booklet and could not figure out how to get the silly thing off... plus your way is way better then what the booklet says. Again thank you
Thanks! Was up at 2AM wracking my brain feeling pretty stupid abt not casting off properly on my loom. Was making a mess of things when I thought... there *must* be someone in the world who can help me! Perfect tutorial.
thanks so much...i could not figure out how to use the long loom from the enclosed directions. when i actually saw you do this, it was a true epiphany...lol
Mike, I am using a Long Rectangular Loom and this loom has all the pegs on each side . How can I cast off I am making a afghan. The long sides of pegs and on there is 1 peg on the each side.
Love your videos! The booklet can be so confusing, but since finding your videos, I am enjoying making hats, scarves, and now making my first blanket for my kids. :) Thank you so much!!!
U have done a great job with your projects and I have learned so from u Mike..thank thank. Do u have any videos with how to make a blanket using a large loom?
thank you so much, your instructions and demos are easy to follow and understand, but I have a question, after you cast off, what about the other side? do you leave it as is?
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG O MG OMG OMG OMG OMG! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH xD my mom just bought me one and I love it but couldn't figured it out but your videos have help'd me sooooooooooo much THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO SOOOOO MUCH!!!!!
This is the best video that I have found on casting off a scarf and the only one I share with Friends learning to knit. Thank you for providing this service.
As I said in your video "How to Cast On Rectangular Loom - Knifty Knitter"... Thanks so much for giving the beginners quite an easy way to understand how knitting works! Actually... casting off was what worried me the most before starting knitting, hehehe...
finally made a scarf, at the end i apparently dropped some, and had a couple of holes not real big at the edge, nearly cried but , then noticed the extra yarn wrapped around loom so had to walk away, and decided to just finish like i would a hat and stretched the end out, cant really tell now that i did that
Thank you Mikey! Because of you, I was able to give my sister a beautiful hand knitten scarf for her birthday. She thought it was store brought until I told her! Please keep posting because I will keep watching and using your techniques.
I find it easer for me to put the end thread in the side because I work it in the middle like you did this time. When I snip it, it still hides like it dose here. Great Tutorial though.
I brought the Kniffy Knitter 6 months ago and I have been learning from your tutorial.I just love you .Thank you so much .I have sold 12 bags and more to come , getting ready for school .I figure I can sell cool school bags .Thanks , Mike
eh Mike, guess what? My relatives from Mississauga came to visit and I asked them to bring me these looms... I am sooooooooooooo happy I can finally start making scarves with them.
BTW thanks for showing us how to cast off, I hadn't thought of it before.
Thanks so much for this vid. However I did just what you said would be a bad thing! Dropped a stitch!..out of shear luck I saved it with the needle that came with the loom. My very first attempt at this craft. A 5'9 scarf! more to come with the help of these tutorials!
you are awesome, i was looking for a tutorial to cast off my sons scarf, and it worked fabulous, and your ather videos inspired me to make a few more scarfs, at least for everyone in my family ( lots).
this is exactly what I have been looking for, you need to make videos for provocraft, they have a great idea but their instructions are horrible, you made it so simple I cannot thank you enough
Thanks so much for this. Most videos show people starting and creating a pattern, but don't cast off. Now I can finish about five projects!
