  • NICE

  • @osas202 HI

  • IM From Canada Aye ^_^

  • I'm Italian but I live in Yellowknife (Northwest Territories, Canada) and I like very much Canadian accent coz it's so... beautiful. It has a musical and weird sound. Yes, I like it!!!

  • wow your voice is very nice

  • Im from Nebraska and I do enjoy a Canadian/northern Minnesota accent. Its pleasant to my ears, as where I find deep southern accent or new England accents very off putting, and give off unintelligent vibe. Ive never thought Canadians sound like they say "aboot" to me it sounds more like "aboat". For some reason, alot of people think Im Canadian, I get asked alot at work. Not sure where it comes from I was born and raised in NE, so go figure. Eh! lol

  • Self proclaimed kiwi? You're either a kiwi or you're not.

  • you slept on the what last night?

  • Oh wow i love your accent its lovely!!! I don't know why American media makes fun of it!!

As for my favourite English speaking accent, if i was to generalize either Australian or Scottish! But i'm Irish and i absolutely LOVE the Northern Irish accent (somewhat similar to a Scottsh accent), specifically a Derry accent! Its soooooooo sexy!!

As for the planet, i dunno maybe Venus or Saturn. No real reason though!

  • I'm British and don't understand why America makes fun of Canada so much. Someone explain?

  • @wildchik101 Sa'll in good fun, truth be told we're far meaner and make fun of them much more.

  • @chinary8 Ha, thanks! Suppose it's quite similar to the banter between countries within the UK! :)

  • Hoot in a boot XD

  • For me, Irish accent is the best!

& I want to learn how to talk w/ an Australian accent but everytime I do it, I end up w/ a British one. :-S

  • This is a really good analysis. Fair

  • I do like the Canadian accent. It's so like a mic between American and British English :) But if I were to choose a favourite accent it'd have to be the Australian accent. It's so awesome sounding ;)

As for what planet, I'd have to choose Neptune... Although I doubt I'd survive for very long....

  • American and Canadian accent sound the same to me but the way canadians pronounce some words like "out" are differently which defines their nationality

  • do you know what accent says "a dog" as "ay dog" (opposed to "ah dog"). i can't seem to figure out what accent does that. the word "a" sounds like "say".

  • that "sarry" is definately american that is completely true, canadians say so-re"

  • Canadian accent? We have accents? xD

  • @UtatanePikoChama

Appearntly because once i was with a few people ive never met in the usa and they said i have a canadian accent im like wtf??!?!?!? its the same thing

  • BTW---I LOVE CANADA!!!

  • Im British, from Northern UK, and my hubby is Canadian-American, hailing originally from Vancouver, BC...and I must say, though he IS sexy the way he speaks, I couldn't discern that he was a Canadian, and thought he was rather a native Californian (as we live here in Southern CA)...Anyway, once he said "about" and been", and "skookum", I knew my Prince Charming was from elsewhere!! Well I thought he was trying to British up his accent when he met me, but no.....he's a sexy Canadian man!!

  • im american southern lol and i say the oppostite of pasta than you do lawl

  • I'm Scottish and i say oot! :) I like the Canadian accent though!

  • When I compare my "out" to "loud" I do notice it. I really do have a canadian accent, huh. I don't say "oot" but there definitely is an "oo" sound in there...

  • @SkickPank SAME, I didn't understand the difference until this video...

EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE.

  • ye olde Irish accent :P

  • I love the way you say "out". That's generally the identifier for someone who's Canadian...

  • Irish accent is the best :)

I would go on a trip to the rings of saturn.

  • Canadian accent is cute on girls, and I speak "American." There's no giant differences, but when there is, it's cute. I don't see how other Americans make fun of it. Teasing, (which I do) maybe, but not to insult or make fun of.

  • Aussie accent ftw

  • To me the only noticeable difference between Canadian and American accents is the out and about. You pronounce it as oat or aboat whereas Americans, British and all other native English speakers say out as in rhyming with loud. I never noticed the bean thing or the sorry thing until you pointed it out. As for favourite accents I like an Irish accent, not sure about which planet I'd want to travel to though.

  • I am a kiwi and "kiwi" is not an offensive word!! It is so much easier than saying New Zealander.. I was so surprised when you thought kiwi was an offensive word LOL.

Also a side note I can barely tell the difference between you and Americans. I think the Americans make fun of the other Canadians from Quebec and that area where they sound different and the accent is much thicker almost kinda Scottish or Irish.

  • im from California and lived in georgia for YEARS my family is from georgia. I have a "western"accent cause theres definitely a subtle difference at least is most cases obvious difference. I have picked up the word Ya'll but thats from living with family. Ive never heard anyone say 'Arange' i say 'orange' my out about and loud are all the same

I noticed being from california i tend to leave out consonants, like caught, i dont emphasis the T so much, ive never heard anyone say flArida,

  • kiwi accent ranked 1st (english only). sweet!

  • for all of you saying "british" accent, u mean "english" accent. cause "british" would also include the "scottish", "welsh" and "northern irish"

  • Lol, yeah we hate being called Kiwis. It's racist.

  • I think all the accents are awesome (e.g. british, australian, canadian) but i love to speak to people with british accents. I have only met an extremely small amount of brits so i usually find it to be a treat when i get to talk to one. brits make good narrators. I would like to travel to UK.

  • Wow...your voice is beautiful and your accent is pretty beautiful. I am Brazilian and I've been studying English since 2007. I really wanna speak like the Canadian people but I'm used to speak like the American ones... Well,my twitter is @Breno_Moortje we can chat there dear. xoxo

  • In the video you don't sound like you have an accent.

  • i love Irish accents

ummm i would go to saturn cuz i like the rings hahaha

  • I live in Indiana, USA and you talk just like we do here except the word pasta, we don't say (pass ta), more like (poss ta). If u lived here no one would know u were from anywhere else. But in the northern states people talk weird

  • I'm from British Columbia, and when I moved to California they made fun of how I say tag and bag. I say it like bayg. And they said it like baaag lol ..They told be it was like i was saying beg like begging for something.. Which confused me.. Was also hard learning to say soda instead of pop lol

  • Hi, my fav accent is kiwis, like my two fav dudes on Flight of the Conchords , Brit and Jemain ! My fav planet ? Jupiter, a beautiful one!

  • I like Canadian accents

  • I am from California and I can't tell the difference between your accent and what I hear everyday.

  • I was born and raised in England but my Mum and Dad are Canadian and I picked up some stuff from them and to British people I sound Canadian and to Canadian people I sound British so I probably have an accent in between. Maybe I should make a vid and see what my fellow You-tubers think :)

  • I hear no difference from an American and Canadian accent. Except when you said "Sorry."

    I like British accents.

    I'd like to see Jupiter.

  • arange xD i dont know anyone that orange like that o.O

  • A woman with british accent is sexy

  • In my opinion Canadian accent sounds like a combination of american and british accent.

  • I love Canadien accents, i actually i watch alot of hockey but im from Chicago lol. Jim Hughson's always like the "Canucks are agaiiinstt the Flames" and like "they got to get the puck oooot of the neutral-zone."

  • I like Western Canadian accent best! ;)

  • @horseluverification How dare you im not rascist its My view.. ok!

  • im nova scotion and i talk perfectly like you do

  • Irish is by far my favorite accent :)

  • Oot and Aboot sound scottish when i try to say them. Anyone else?

  • americans just dont emphasis the O as much when they say out and about

i live on the west coast of canada too :) i had a debat on this with my cousin who lives on the east coast of the states

  • I love the 3 accents: Canadian British & Australian.

  • @rayruizjr u can hear my australian accent 2day

    lol

  • @rayruizjr You obviuolsy haven''t heard a Scotsmans accent

  • My favorite accent in the whole world is the New York accent

  • British and Australian are my two favourite!!! SO HOT! Mostly british. I'd rather be british :P

  • caught and cot are pretty much the same deal as bare and bear so i dont see why out language has to distinguish the meanings in the vowels

  • I don't like Canadian accents

    ..and I'm Canadian

I have no clue if i have one though :C

  • How people say words are very different between southern and northern states in the U.S.

  • You pronounce sorry like "sorey" and Americans prnounce it like "Sarry"

  • u.s and candian accent i love the planet ii would go to is mar

  • I'm from the U.S and i think this country is wack

  • How is the canadian accent any different from the American one in general

  • Is it me or is the general Canadian accent no different than the general American accent? I was born & raised in Toronto & went to school in Florida for a year, not one person could ever pick out that I was Canadian unless I told them. However I've been to Edmonton Alberta enough times & seem to always get asked at least once if I'm an American, go figure!

  • i must say that i am from ontario moved to bc and i know there are several words that and expressions that west coasters use that differ from that of ontario

  • I like canadian and american accents,I personally don't like no rhotic accents, specially cockney...So Yeah,I like your accent

If I could travel to any planet,I would go to saturn, love that planet!

  • Really, it all depends on the area of Canada that you are from. As a Canadian, I feel most people find the stereo types coming from the Maritimes. Sure, all areas of the country do have little quirks we all semi follow- even without realizing it. However, when speaking about the whole.. "oot and aboot" thing... please understand.. It's not that strong and not everyone says it like that... also.. "eh" is -not- said at the end of every sentence.

  • I actually pronounce a lot of words similar to how you did in this video. My accent is a mix between northern English and kiwi but it gets mistaken for all sorts, like Australian, Scottish, Canadian, Irish & American .

.I love Newcastle accents (northern England), Dublin accents & Canadian accents.

For those who don't know what a Newcastle accent sounds like listen to one of the many interview's with Cheryl Cole on you tube.

  • K honestly same here! im from toronto and dont have an accent and when im watching shows like How I Met Your Mother and they always have these Canadian stereotypes. Like the biggest one is how we say out like "oot". I've lived in Canada my entire life and travelled a lot around the country and NEVER heard anyone speak like that. so i have no idea where it comes from. like maybe people in nova scotia but 99% of canadians DONT HAVE AN ACCENT so stop with the stereotypes!

  • @TwilightiHeart all canadians have an accent, just not really strong like oot and aboot :DDDD FUNNIEST STEREOTYPE EVAR

  • iv got an australian accent and its probably my favourite next to canadian and um yeah i'd probably want to visit neptune or saturn the most :p

  • im a kiwi!!! and i luv her accent

  • I'm american and I love the Canadian accent! It's one of my favorites, besides British

  • yea we say out not owt -amearica

  • Interesting video. First and foremost: I am a multi-cultural Dutchman living in England. The most attractive 'English' accent: I actually have a top 5 :

    1. New York(ian)

    2. Canadian

    3. Kiwi - NZ

    4. Irish

    5. (Correct) BBC British-English

No offense, but most of the dialects spoken within the UK, especially Scouse (Liverpudlian) sound really ugly to me.

What planet would I like to travel to? I love planet Earth the most, but Mars would be interesting to visit for a day.

  • Wow just reading some of the text to this video. There's alot of love being thrown at Canadian's. My accent is Sexy. I might have to blush on that one. Never heard that before.

  • I'm from S. Ontario and I can't tell any difference between us and Americans in the surrounding area like Michigan

  • @Foxiesz I live in Northern Ontario, and I can tell you there is a difference, subtle, mind you... Even my friends who live in Windsor, Ont. don't realize how their accents have changed. They sound kind of American, to us.. Up here, we notice the variance a little more. ex: they say huh, where we'd say eh? etc.... minor... we say pop, they say "soda pap" etc... he he

  • @Foxiesz Wow, really?! The Michigan accent is one of the few Northern US accents that I can distinguish from the Standard Canadian accent...seeing as how it's pretty different...well, that and the New Jersey/New York accent.

  • I say out and about like you, and I'm American, that's just the way I learned it I guess, :)

  • Candian is deff. better than aaamericaaan.

  • never been to canada but talked to a few canadians in las vegas. i assumed they were from minnesota or montana etc.

  • canadians sound sexy? i dont know how to describe it but canadians basically sound like american but more proper.....so much that you guys kinda sound robotic. it seems like black canadians pretty much sound like the whites as well

  • ur so cool :) luv the accent! im from london and i luv the canadian accent!

  • I'm From The U.S. and I Think The Canadian Accent is Extremely Sexy

  • @Jogden24

    But its just English

  • I don't get why Americans says Aye after saying Canada, makes me laugh.

  • I Am American && I LOVE LOVE LOVE accents(: I Wish I Had One. (: I Apologize For All The Other Immature Americans That Bring Up Accents Like They Are Bad. ):

  • You dont speak different...its normal english....you dont have an accent

  • I live in the UK but have visited the US many times and every time I go my accent is brought up. Americans do poke fun at accents but it's merely facetious. With so many cultures converging in one place you're bound to have a cacophony of accents. Amercans are fond of them and if you get made fun of just laugh. They're always imitating foreign and domestic accents so have fun, lighten up! Nice post btw. I for one can't tell the difference in Canadian and American speech.

  • Haha, I'm a kiwi who's going to Canada to live May 2nd, interesting video. I wonder if I'll get a lot of comments on my accent. xD!

  • as a canadian i feel we as a multicultural and miltilingual contry so we do tend to use both pronounciations.

  • As a northern american from PA I've never noticed a difference in the way we speak here and the way canadians speak. To me they generally don't have an accent but that may be because we're so close to Canada here in PA. However I do have a friend who has heard some canadians say "aboot" but I've never met a canadian who said it that way. So canadians kinda sound the same to me. Or at least the ones from southern Ontario.

  • Great Research. Your accent is sexy. :)

  • AMERICANS HAS HEARING PROBLEMS! thats all, they cant hear us right LOL

  • Angliche,

Je propose et pose ma prose, mais je m'oppose à ta chose morose, pas rose.

  • I'm american lol.. my girl friend is canadian. I do think her accent is adorable. She's from alberta :) cool vid!

  • @bonessammy1 I have a girlfriend that's canadian. :) and I'm also american! :)

  • @bonessammy1 GO ALBERTA!

  • @eouillette lol thanks :) yeah its somewhat lame cause Californian's get shit lol...

  • @eouillette lol thanks :) yeah its somewhat lame cause Californian's get shit lol... haha almost forgot.. But I'd Travel to Neptune :) I love blue haha

  • Ok I'm from Toronto and I say "out" and "about" exactly like "loud". Sooo I really don't get where people get the idea that we pronounce it like "oot"

  • @AnnaMidnightStar I'm from Toronto too but say them kind of between "oat" and "owt" and that's the way I find most Canadians say them, like the girl in the video. It's more and more noticeable when you compare Americans speaking to Canadians...

  • @AnnaMidnightStar yeah i have friends who when they try imitate Canadian accents they do that, but i can't say I've ever heard anyone do it, and i know a few Canadians. They also say you guys say 'boat', 'about' and 'boot' all the same, can't say i agree.

kiwi accents are funny they say 'pen' and 'pin' exactly the same, 'Sarah' sounds like 'seerah' and 'Claire' sounds like 'clear' hehe

  • @AnnaMidnightStar south park I guess :D even if Canadians do say it like that, it's still cool to me :)

  • @AnnaMidnightStar

    Im from toronto too!:)

  • @AnnaMidnightStar T.V!!!!

  • @AnnaMidnightStar I think it could have been from the tv series "How I Met Your Mother." That's where I was exposed to the 'oot' that the show portrays canadian as.

  • oot and aboot

  • I don't get why nobody makes fun of the way Americans talk. America's the one with four hundred different pronunciations for things with the same spelling.

  • @LaeBehleFere and you dont hear a canadian with a southern drawl.. and i have never in my life (except on tv) heard a canadian say aboot..where do they get that shit from

  • I've been perusing videos of accents because of a random stumble with someone bashing us Canadians.

I talk almost the exact same way you do. I live in Alberta. I say "out" and "about" with a little bit more of an "ow" sound than you do. I say been like "bin". I say drama/pyjama/pasta the same, and the sorry/sorrow/Florida.

I also say again as "ah-gen" not "ah-gain".

And I have to say I love an Aussie accent.

  • Americans dont have their own accent , FUCK OFF AMERICAN CUNTS NOW FUCK OFF YOU WANKERS

  • @TheCockyCunts

I always chuckle when UK'ers call us wankers. It's supposed to be offensive but to us it just sounds so fay and quaint and well, British. Thus the intended impact is not conveyed.

  • @HeLovesCulture Ladies from Newfoundland usually have either really bad accents or really correct British pronunciation. She sounds like the latter.

  • Let me shed some light on what happened, I'm a kiwi, born and bred, living in Canada. He told you your Canadian accent was sexy cause he was trying to get into your pants.

  • @HeLovesCulture well Im from toronto and even I think newfie's talk funny, a lot of people I know like to make fun of their accent..... but ya I say 'a-gen' too (:

  • how much differnet is the canadian accent too an American one most ppl from the UK wouldnt be able to tell which is so different but i know its slightly less stronger than in terms of the accent

  • @HeLovesCulture thankyou :)

i heard us canadians say "aboot" instead of "about" is that true? :S

  • Forget the whole "aboot" and "oot". I'm American and I've never heard Canadians say that lol.

Basically it sounds to us like:

Hey guys, I'm going OAT this evening.

    or...

    Hey, what ABOAT your jacket?

Americans pronounce it less like "oat" and more like a strong "ow" sound, like COW. lol

  • Dutch, I wouldn't leave earth

  • I'm Canadian too but I say sorry like the one that rimes with starry and I say drama with the aaah sound but pajama and pasta are the "canadian" way for me ... weird .. I guess it just depends...

  • The Australian accent is awesome^^ And I like British and Canadian, too. I'm Norwegian though, thus no English accents sounds particularly strange to me :)

  • Australian and Jamaican english are the best : )

  • im from vancouver and i talk a lot like you.. and i dont get why american people keep talking about canadian accent?? i mean, i live in rhode island (cuz i go to school here) and i think the accent here is a LOT more harsh?? and noticeable than canadian accent.. i dont get why so many americans have a preconception of canadians..

  • they dont say "eh" after???

  • I'm Scottish and I can't tell but I really like your accent :D It sounds like american to me but prettier

  • "About" like Robin Sparkles!

  • @HeLovesCulture

    i agree.

actually the only people i ever heard make fun of newfies were some friends of mine from BC

  • americans only make fun of newfie accents.

    you sound american to me.

  • Pronouncing cot/caught the same is almost complete in Canada with about half the people in the U.S. I'm from Utah but I pronounce them differently . But here are some clues on how to replicate the distinction if you wish for fun. cot for me has the same unrounded vowel as in father, let's call it "ah." Caught has a rounded vowel that you have to round your lips to pronounce, "aw" You can always exaggerate "aw" like a Phillyite or a NYer and dial it back for a more standard American pronunciation

  • CANADIAN accent is FANTASTIC! I love it and I'd love to speak with that accent. But I guess it is almost impossible for me now unless I immigrate to Canada :( :P

  • I'm English. You sound American to me, apart from a few words.

    I pronounce caught as CORT

    I pronounce laugh as LARF

I am in love with the South African accent and the Welsh accent. I really don't like the American accent at times, but I am trying. I mean, you sound fine but sometimes the accent can sound whiny.

  • I'm English. I come from Andover, Hampshire so apparently my accent is like a typical British farmer, personally I don't think it's that strong :L

  • I sound like a Yank cuz I live across from the states... HELP ME CANADIANS! HELP ME REGAIN MY KICK ASS ACCENT :P

  • A&W

  • Woo! I'm English, speak my language everyone for it is the best.

  • I'm swedish and after watching so much hockey (NHL) I've been told that I have a canadian accent. I like it though :). I've noticed myself using different sounds for "ou" than americans do and words like process and sorry, I say the "canadian way" too :). It's also the best accent btw :).

  • Hey I am from bham uk, I know it's not my fault lol, but you have a lovely accent, I also say bin as in where you bin, or I,ve bin, but do I detect a hint of Irish in there somewhere, sorry I hope I don't offend, but yes sexy accent, your pretty too, cool.

My planet the furthest away for isolation.

  • I am in Southern ontario, and you definitely have a different accent then the other people living here. I am from northern ontario, and I also speak differently than everyone here. I have a more Minnesota/Wisconsin accent I find. When I say not, it sort of sounds like nat, and i get made fun of for it. I don't really fit in here :P

  • From the American accents, I loveeee the new york accent!!!

  • Haha im from New Zealand :D And i LOVEEEEE the canadian accent! I think it's sexy too!

  • I am an American, and I think you guys sound just like us. I actually thought you were American at first.

  • lol are there lots of Scot descendents in Canada because you prounounce "about" the same way as the scots. aboot

  • i have the same problem im canadian but i live in the stats since i was 4 and people all ways ask me to say''bag'' and ''house'' and other word's

  • Im a kiwi, as mentioned we represent that fact pretty clearly ahah. I enjoy Canadian accents of them all - its so sexy.

  • I'm surprised nobody's said this about the 'roof' thing yet:

The way I understand that americans pronounce roof is that they use the 'oo' sound from 'look' rather than 'loop'. So Canadians would say "roof-loop" with the same vowel sound in both words whereas some (most?) americans would have a difference. I don't really think many americans say 'roof' so that it rhymes with 'stuff'.

    I am Canadian btw.

  • Kiwi accent is definitely my favourite (I also like Scottish). I would rather stay on earth, we can breathe here.

  • I LOVE AUSTRALIAN ACCENT <3

  • Planet earth every time!

  • hows big brown bear ey? we only have salmon in canada ey

  • @HeLovesCulture np bud. just my opinion

  • americans are taught to pronounce vowels in two different ways, if it ends with an E then we pronounce the vowel in the CAPITAL tone which is how you say it in the alphabet (unless the word has two consecutive letters, like APPLE is the lower pronounciation as apposed to ACE being the capital pronounciation) in this case, how you say SORRY has two consecutive R's in it, so we pronounce it as SAWRRY. lower pronounciation O is AW as opposed OWE

  • 02:33 I've noticed the biggest difference between Canadian and American accents is the way Canadians say anything with "-ar", like "car" or in this case, "fart". It sounds like "Faaehhrt" or "Caaeerhh".

  • i say process... drAAMa..pajama paasta

  • I'm canadian, I don't say "bean", I say Been as in "ben" ha. But, I do say sorry, as Sore-Y. haha. I say that word a lot and people catch it quickly and they think I'm like weird or something at my school.

  • I am American and British accents are most attractive, to me, at least. Also, I say pah-sta. (the second way you said it.) And I don't say bin or bean for been. I say "ben" as in pen. :) Interesting vid, btw.

  • @TheFurryFeline Lmao, thats weird I always thought American's disliked and made fun of our accent. It's good to hear that you like it though!

btw my name is Ben, I thought I would respond to your comment because I saw my name... random I know.. bahahahahahaha (:

  • to answer your questions noufoundlander is my fav english because of the history. the planet i'd like to visit would be the moon. and other afew of thoes words are both corect speach.

  • I really liked your video, and as an American I think you speak almost the same as what would be considered a "normal" American accent. There are some subtle differences, but whatever. It makes you sound more exotic :) I LOVE the Irish accent, but there are plenty of other ones I find attractive as well. If I could go to any planet, I think it would be one that was like Earth that we have yet to discover.

  • I find your video quite accurate for the most part. :) My favourite English speaking accents would be those from Australia and Scotland.

  • and i personally find the south-african afrikaans accent to be extremely attractive; that and the welsh accent.

  • actually, what wikipedia is referring to is the canadian-specific pronunciation of "been" as "bean." we tend to say "bin" in quicker, more casual speech, and "been" (like bean) when emphasizing the word. americans, however, never say "been" to sound like "bean." they pronounce the word as "ben" or sometimes "bin."
