  • dont forget make SURE your wire does NOT touch BOTH prongs on the fuse because that would defeat the purpose of the fuse and CAN start a fire

  • @MrGurbandhan Absolutely correct.

Great tutorial video but I think jamming the cable into the fuse holder is a bit rough and ready.

It would be better to buy an inline fuse and simply connect onto both terminals of the battery.

  • Nice how-to, man.

  • never mind

  • Where did you get the mount

sorry if you said it in the video but im at school and can't turn on the volume

  • Awesome! Would this install be damaged in any way from washing the bike? Or would I have to hide the power cord to the screen on every wash? My bike likes being washed. :) haha

  • @TheGr33nNinja There shouldn't be power going to it while the key is off, so you should be fine, obviously remove the GPS unit itself, but the DC plug should be okay as long as it's allowed to dry completely before using. The wiring from the DC plug to the fuse box/battery will be protected/covered by the seat(s) and such, just like your fusebox/battery. So all in all you'll be fine!

  • Nice tutorial! I would like to add a couple of things if I may, tape up the charger connection fully to avoid water ever getting in if the bike is ever ridden in the rain and try to hide the connector at the GPS from the elements when not in use as well. Good job bro!

  • good work. only thing is i'd keep it off the fork. i don't like any pulling n such. zip-tie it to somethin more stationary ao there isn't constant tugging and whatnot.

  • im amazed of how you got the video done i 11 minute

  • Great Video

  • Really great how-to video. You should definitely be proud of this one!

  • Is that an FZ6?

  • so simply explained and you always make clean installs, i love it!

going to do mine next weekend, gotta buy some parts :D

  • great stuff

Well done and thanks for the tutorial

  • is that gps water proof? i have a garmin i was thinking of putting on my bike but i live in england so i would never be able to use it

  • Your info vids are the best. I'm going to redo mine right now . never knew about the fuse box. Thanks!

  • Nice :)

  • wow you are awesome

  • very useful. good vid.

  • Awesome tip

  • oh yes pardon me, how's Ducati project coming alone ?

  • oh yes pardon me, how's Ducati project coming alone ?

  • In my opinion this way of hooking up to the fuse box isn't the right way. You don't know now if you took the 'fused' or the 'battery' side. Not sure how to hook it up in an official way but there got to be better options available. It might be smart as well to take a multimeter and check your cigarette lighter socket if plus and minus are correct. That might save you a roasted navigation system if you did anything accidentally wrong.

  • @Engineer9736 generally the fuse box tells you or you can just trace the wire

  • I've got some connections running straight to my battery that I need to redo through my fuse box. Great how to. I'd love to see more of this kind of stuff.

  • Great How-to. I never thought about running my 12volt through the fuse box. Thanks for the idea.

  • @havedogwillscooter I'm still using ty-wraps :P

  • Lol I was wondering how I was going to mount my GPS and I happen to own an FZ6R. Thanks! ^,^

  • @DarkLordRoto No problem!

  • Very well made video bro.

  • @Motoriceburner Thank you!

  • You have won the internets sir. I plan on installing a charger onto my bike the moment I sell my car and NOW I know how to.

  • @NinjaOnANinja Haha thanks. Glad I could help.

  • Great stuff!

  • @MikeOfKorea Thanks!

  • Amazing video man

  • @ampedddd Thank you!

  • go to cycle gear and get there 12 volt outlet it s better than the metal one ive got to replace mine after a year and when i hit a bump whatever is plugged in backs out and shuts down but it will be fine for about a year

  • @kd4ysi I have never used those personally, but always hear good things about them. I've had mine in for a few trips and about two years and no problems myself, but good suggestion.

  • That was so unbelievably easy :) Would this work for a Sat Nav thats designed for cars aswell? So long as obviously they are waterproof and shock resistant?

  • @6FretsUnder Yes, it would. Actually, both my GPS and the one in the video are for cars. I could never justify the higher costs for a bike GPS since I don't used it a lot. Besides, a car one has been just fine for me.

  • finally someone made a video i've been looking for, thanx zman :)

  • @DesmosediciAlice You're welcome! :)

  • Awesome tutorial...very well spoken !!

  • @DarkFlightVlogs Thank you. Was my first time having someone record for me so I wasn't sure how it'd turn out.

  • @borninusa98 Thanks! I may do a bike trip next summer or fall to Napa Valley in California, but until then I have a lot of schooling I am trying to do in a short amount of time, so no trips soon sadly.
