  • the greatest song ever in my opinion

  • wonderful.

  • I love his voice..

  • Their harmonies on Parklife are lovely.

  • haha something tells me that damon had no idea that ray was going to play parklife there at the end

  • does anyone know what year this is from 1997-1998 from the look of damons hair!

    anyone know?

  • 1995

  • This is gorgeous. Got to say I'm rather jealous of Damon though.

  • that end is so cute.I like it.

  • Damon does a simply WONDERFUL version here with the incomparable Ray Davies!

  • w/e

  • this is so nice :)

    great version

  • Wow. So great to see this. Two of my fave men. So talented, so great. Thanks for posting. :)

  • 2 generations performing a timeless classic together...what's not to love about this clip? Thanks for posting it - very cool!

  • 0:49, sorry *

  • 0.49 rox! ;D

  • cool ! thx magicdog200:))

  • damon was a little surprised at the end there, lol

  • genuisx2

  • I like the interpretation of this song. both are very "hot"

  • I used to have this on a tape i got free wi a magazine years ago it was in my car when i writ it off shame oh memories

  • A fantastic performance-Parklife at the end was a complete surprise!

  • lol does anybody imagine liam gallagher singing this with ray davies. that would suck really bad

  • haha great comment, I totally agree

  • echt guter song - gutes Gitarrenspiel - Sänger o.k.

  • ich mag das !

  • great i love it 5*****

  • i know u luv it sooo much . das ist toll!!

  • love

  • Jude Law's brother, haha... uncanny resemblance

  • I can sorta see that...and not...they have the same dirty blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, but they have different features, similiar hair and nose. They are both great!

  • Damon is way hotter

  • That makes you a girl.

  • Err...what?

  • A man wouldn't say that one man is "hotter" that the other.

  • LOL I know what you mean, and yes I am a girl, but why does that matter? =)

  • It does not matter. To anybody(including me).

Just wanted to reply to somebody!!!

  • um..OK! Have fun! Do you like Blur?

  • Blur is one of my MANY favorite bands(Super Furry Animals, Jethro Tull, ELO, Radiohead and The Kinks among them).

  • Same! I love the Kinks too due to this song with Damon...I love Blur

  • so surprised your favourite bands are almost

    same as mine.

  • There are many similarities in this world-for example, most people all have two eyes.

  • of course ur wrong, that doesen't make u gay or less man, what are u 10? or what? a man can absolutly know if some one is hotter than himself, or anohter man beauty exists in men and women, and apreciate that does not make u a girl u kido

  • She's a girl-learn to read replies(look down).

  • did I say the oposite? the one that needs learn to read is U, I'm saying that a man can say if another is handsom etc. I'm not saying that she is not a girl u Kido, why don't go back to elementary school so they teach U some grammar?

  • NOW who's being naive? ;)

  • I love Damon and i love his freakin brilliant song

  • Damon has an amazing falsetto or w/e!

  • Damon Albarn isn't given enough credit for his talent. The guy is amazing, gifted singer and song writer *****

  • albarn's falsetto is aweome

  • Deeply touching

  • may i ask when is this sung?

  • 1967

  • Damon wasn't even born then! Maybe 1994/5? Since Parklife is sung...

  • i know mate i mean ray davies wrote this song in 1967 or 68

  • o rite! Sorry a misunderstanding...i mean when was this sung With Damon?

  • No problem ;)

  • Wikipedia just says "mid 90's". You're right, it has to be 94' or later since they sing Parklife, but I don't know the exact year.

  • Probably, yes...Damon was at his peak that time, due to Parklife, he also looked his best =P

  • sure 1967

  • this was 1995 the original by kinks were 1967 u idiot<.<

  • OMG DAmon is amazing

  • Damn Ray Davies sounds good!

  • Damon is sooo hot

  • awesome!

  • ray davies is a legend!

  • father and son

  • Blur and the Kinks are my favorite bands.

  • Awesome.

  • oh my fuking god. this is awesome, totally awesome

  • ooooh i loved so muchh!!! Damon was my absolute idol when i was younger, n my mum loved Ray so we thought this was just class!!

  • Ray Davies roolz and Damon Albarn has picked up his baton and is running with it. Total respect to both especially Ray. Londond Roolz!

  • Thanks for posting mate! Kinks is the best! ever

  • Beautiful.

  • its unpluged. great to watch. just brought my memories of old. thanks for posting this. great vocals and combination.

  • Oh dear - what has become of Damon... he was near perfect here. This song is so wistfully hopeful.

  • I agree with your statement but I think Damon is doing just fine. Just fine!

  • Damon's the man.

  • Parklife ending is sympathic :D but the waterloo sunset was good. I did had the wma but not anymore :P

  • Thats a great version of 'Waterloo Sunset' but 'Park Life' sounds like Chaz n Dave unplugged.

Prefered Oasis Quo to Blur ( the local band) but like both. Damon Albarn is alright!

  • I was just thinking recently how a number of the Blur songs had Kinks influences, such as Park Life and Country House. This vid confirms that for me.

  • Wow... so many haters. Just relax and enjoy the music. <3

They did a fantastic job of this song together... It would have been an honor to be there. Luckies!

  • why coming here my angry and frustrated friend? did you get bored with your boyzband "music"? somehow repetitive and .."deja-vu" uh?! so please enjoy these 2 legends and feel free to come back and learn from poets and musicians.

  • Please don't post in all crap.

  • Lol WTF GTFO Here :DDDD

  • Nice combination here.

  • This song brings a tear to my eye. I got a free tape with a magazine many years ago of songs from The White Room, including this one. Its the best version of the song, if only for Damon's fantastic vocals.

  • come on blur or gorillaz arent as good as oasis, you cant argue with that fact. however, i love BOTH damon's work and the gallaghers, damon is a class vocalist!

  • so THATS, how damon albarn looks like ^^ xD

  • Yup. He doesn't actually have blue hair and two eight ball fractured eyes.

  • Damon Albarn is SO good at singing in falsetto. Jeez...

  • very very nice pair. you can see where blur come from, like it or not.

  • aw this was cute.

  • Could Daman look any happier about singing with Ray? No wonder though.

  • I am a musician and singer and on the shortlist of inspirational people who have influenced me are

Damon Albarn - Blur and Gorillaz

    Beatles

    kinks

    David Bowie

    Bob Marley

    and Pink Floyd

but Damon's the one for me, for his creative genious using music as we should as a true art form and honesty in his voice, he just sings how it is, he makes you know what being Brittish really should feel like, now that's culture!

  • man you have it all wrong you fucking cock. Blur never wanted to be oasis, they just shrugged it off with the odd comment here and there. Damon Albarn is a musical genius.

  • Albarn is soooo much better than Gallagher, you can't compare...

Oasis is a band for teenage girls, they always do the same music!

  • oh i see! what about GORILLAZ? that's a fucking joke.posh boy who tries to write about hard times in life, righty oh damon

go have a cup of earl grey.

  • We don't care about the lyrics, I'm french and i don't understand the quarter of oasis or blur lyrics.

You should see Monkey a journey to the west, you should listen "mali music"...

Oh and if you don't like gorillaz music, we can't talk about 21st century Pop Music together. That's nosense.

Keep listenning Oasis, Pete Doherty and others false icons...

  • Mate, pete doherty is not fake!

  • did someone compare them?? thats hilarious.. fakes don't dare sit and sing with legends. well, maybe assholes or music photocopiers do..

  • WHEN did they perform this? any1 know

  • 1996 on 'The White Room', on British TV

  • 1996 on 'The White Room' on British TV

  • Comment removed

  • i love damons voice :)

  • any one know where i could get tabs for this?

  • type...

    kinks-waterloo sunset tabs

then just search through the ones that best suit you.

  • Classic......Say no more!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is amazing love Damon Albarn forever! The Kinks are also awesoooooooooome!!!!!! WHOOOO!!!

Both of them got a beautiful voice XD

  • this is great but i'd love him to do a version of it with Noel Gallagher

  • That was a while ago, no? He's managed to improve with age, has old Damon, and Ray's looking great, too. I heard him on the Culture Show and he was AMAZING, just like the old days but wiser.

  • they sound quite alike. Theyre both such big inspirations. Damon Albarn rules

  • Kinks rules, Ray rules!!!!!

  • Does anyone know when this happened?

  • maybe in 1994 or 1995, because they sang parklife, and damon looks young

  • this is the loveliest thing ever. Damon's face, he so cheesed at singing with his hero. Auuhhh.

  • is that true? I always wondered who Damon's big inspirations were!

  • needs a bit of work...good song but their singing wasn't that great. They struggled on the long high notes

  • it had soul mate!

  • DAMON ALBARN!!!!!!!!!1

  • Wow. My two musical heroes performing the 4th greatest song ever written. Heavy sigh...

  • What are the first three?

  • 1. A Day In The Life

    2. Happiness Is A Warm Gun

    3. Making Plans For Nigel

IMO anyways haha. Beetlebum is also high on that list.

  • Ray Davies is gorgeous. End of.

  • brilliant performers

  • Amazing....

  • Damon Albarn's voice is just great :D

  • I second that.

  • I am grinning like a fool listening to this.

    Beautiful boys, beautiful song.

  • THANKS FOR THIS ADD MAN! i remember the old cassette i got of "The White Room" with Select magazine or summat back in '96.... i lost it unfortunately :( it also had "it's good to be free" - Oasis and "a girl like you" played by Edwynn Collins and Bernard Butler amongst other nice live ditties....

  • am I the only blur fan who thinks thinktank was complete rubbish?

  • you're not alone ;)

Well... maybe not a complete rubbish, but leaving out "sweet song", "battery..." and some other... yes, it is!

  • well, you're not alone apparently, but certainly a rarity i reckon...i love it, personally.

  • I liked Out Of Time. Other than that, not much use for the album.

  • no you are not alone i hated it i will take old blur anyday.

  • i love that moment when Ray Davies

    starts playing "Parklife" - seems,

it was a real surprise for Albarn :)

  • and i like Damon's English accent/ especially the way he pronounces the word "lazy" :)))

  • What a great video!

  • Although I've always been a fan of Damon Albarn, I am shocked and appalled by his weak falsetto!

    Heaven for fend!

  • you obviously don't know a legend when you hear one!

  • Oh my fucking god i almost faint... Damon looks gorgeous. Love the Kinks and love Damon Albarn.

  • he used to be gorgeous...however, he' s not that handsome now :(

see his videos with the good, the bad and the queen

  • Well obviously- the man IS 40. Even if he's not handsome now, I still think he's a cute man regardless.

  • j'adoreeeuuuuhh !!! Vive Damon Albarn, il faut dire qu'il est pas mal du tout...

    Vive BLUR!

  • I'm not a huge Blur fan but have to say Albarn's backing vocals on this are fantastic.

  • you're an idiot

  • honestly, not true.

  • fantastic, bet damien is so so so proud, a dream come true for sure

  • this made damon 200x hotter

  • My 2 favourite singers and my favourite song of all time.

Do we really need to compare them? Can't we just appreciate one or the other?

Both singers and versions are amazingly beautiful.

  • Why Ray? You're a genious, this guy is too mediocre for joining you! Ray's real, the young artists are shitty pretenders

  • Haha-you don't know much about music,do you?

  • Me too.

  • its like one of them knows it because has been siniging it for 30 years ..other one listened to it for thirty.. ears like we all have and gives a beautifull inter

  • Damon Albarn said that "Waterloo Sunset" is his favourite song, so "fake" is not a word I'd apply to his backing vocals on this song. He probably feels privileged to have been given the chance to sing it with Ray Davies.

  • Damon= legend- such a unique innovative person- he has composed the music for the musical Monkey (remember the quirky t.v. show ! hope the musical show posted on you tube

  • omg this is amazing....

    its ray davies.... AMAZING

and damon albarn the modern equivilent to davies.. its like to eras clashing and making something beautifull

  • what are you serious man? I think Damon is amazing, I've been hooked to every damn band hes made/ been in.

  • I know people go bonkers for him and Blur (and those other guys, Oasis), but I just don't see it. I have tried to give these boys a listen, but there are so many better UK bands/artists: XtC, PaulWeller, Kinks, Beatles, Stones, that Albarn can't compare. He is not that great of a singer. Pardon my humble opinion, perhaps I am just not hip.

  • nah. the classics will always sound better. the
