I´ve had never read the books, at least not all of them. By watching the movies it was pretty hard for me to see Severus Snape as a good character. At first I strongly believed he was an evil character, but after watching the first 3 movies I began to believe other things about Snape. He was such a complex character that it made me believe maybe he was good. Also in the books you can find some hints that make you also figure he is in Dumbledore´s side.

I was sure for quite some time that Snape had been in love with Lily. I'm still not sure if we should see him as good . He was determined to see the worst in Harry because he looked like James. But his eyes were Lily's. He was bitter because Harry could have been his.He chose the dark arts and Voldemort . Lily chose James Potter. Life could have been easier for him if he had realised that Harry had Lily's character and spirit. it would have been easier for him to fight, no?But Harry forgives him

Snape ran from the castle after Dumbledore's death because Dumbledore wanted Voldy to think that Snape was on the Death Eaters' side, so he could carry on acting as a spy.

Snape killed Dumbledore because Dumbledore asked him to. At the start of book 6, Dumbledore tried on the cursed ring, which turned his hand black, but he knew the curse would kill him eventually, so he asked Snape to kill him when the time was right. That's why he said, "Severus... please...", just before his death.

Well, it does turn out that he's on the "Good side", but not because he believes it's right. He's basically fighting against Voldy because V killed Lily Potter, who Snape loved. When Voldy killed Harry's Mum Dumbledore convinced Snape to work with him to protect Harry, but Snape swore Dumbledore to secrecy.

I knew from the beginning he was on Dumbledore's side, even when he killed Dumbledore, I had already figured out that Dumbledore and Snape had planned for that. I don't think Snape is a nice person, but he is my favorite character. He's pretty much one of the most complex characters in the book and I love him, seriously! I cried so hard when he died and wanted to look into Harry's eyes. I knew the doe was him too, lol.

i think snape is good cuz in the 4th book, pg. 651, voldemort is talking about his death eaters and he says "One who has left me foreve..." could he mean snape? Also, when snape killed dumbledore, he used Avada Kedavra, when that curse is used you don't fly threw the air, you just die-not moving. SNAPE IS GOOD

It has to do with the prophecy " either must die while the OTHER lives" dumbledore is the other...I think he had to die , he sacrificed himself so that harry could live and fight voldemort. Snape isnt evil, when they were arguing with dumbledore in the bushes dumbledore wanted him to do something and he was refusing...besides he was pleading with snape, and i think it was to kill him

He's good!! He was with the Order when he killed DD; he switched sides after learning he helped kill the Potters, he still owed a life debt 2 james. He joined the Order to pay his debt.

He made an Unbreakable Vow that said that if Draco failed, he would kill DD. If Snape did not kill DD, he would die. There would be no possible spy for the Order, and the DEs would kill DD anyway. But he did kill DD. Now his loyalty won't be questioned by Voldemort. Even if he doesn't work directly with the Order, he could help bring down Volemort internally.

I would like to think that Snape is good becuz Dumbledore believed in him and when has Dumbledore ever been wrong...and Dumbledore had to die for a reason becuz Harry has to kill Voldemort on his own...without help. I think it's very peculiar that Dumbledore trusted Snape so much. Usually Dumbledore would decipher whether or not somebody wanted to kill him. Of course, though, there is the belief that for reasons unknown to me, Dumbledore wished for this to be, but I can't imagine why. I think of all people to kill Dumbledore, it's weird it was Snape. Though, of course it was obvious Voldemort wasn't going to do it, it seems strange to me Snape was the one to take the life of Albus Dumbledore.

I know its hard to believe Snape killed Dumbledore but he made that vow to Maloy's mom remember, that if Draco couldnt do it, he would do it for him(he couldnt break that vow). And it could be that Dumbledore felt he was in the way of Harry defeating Voldemort, so he had Snape do it becuz he knew he could work as a spy or something. It really doesnt make sense to me either but when has Dumbledore ever been wrong about anything.

Dumbledore knew his death would only make Harry stronger. He told Snape to kill him, and told Fawkes to not save him. He knew he was getting old and was going to die anyway. Dumbledore hints this numerous times in the book. And Snape is good: there are paralells between the sentences explaining Harry's reaction to feeding him the potion (revulsion at himself), and Snape's reaction to killing him. "Revoltion" and "hatred" appear in both sentences.

Well, I think Dumbledore would've wanted to killed by Snape's hand if it ever came to the point where they ahd no choice. Dumbledore knew his death was inevitable,and he knew it was coming soon, so Snape is fulfilling Dumbledore's wishes, which means he's keeping not only the Vow of The Order of the Phoenix, but also the Unbreakable Vow he made with Narcissa Malfoy to protect Draco at all costs. Sorry, there was a MAJOR spoiler there...hehehe
