The name of this beautiful city was, is and will always be Constantinople. Don't you know that Kemal decided in the late 20s to change it? Yes the name didn't change in 1453 as you might think but in the 20th century! Read some history.

Of course it is a Turkish city now and for the last 550+ years! Thanks for the invitation, I've already visited Istanbul quite a few times and I love it as I love the Turkish people. I'm solely referring to the name. Turkish people themselves referred to this city officially as Constantinople until the late 20s. That is an historical fact and the only issue I'm citing here.
