I met Steve Miller at the Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ circa 1994. What an asshole. He got really fat. Maybe he had too many cheeseburgers.
I can't tell... Does this lineup contain Boz Scaggs, Norton Buffalo, and/or Les Dudek? They all played in the SMB but I never knew if they were there at the same time. Any hints? Thanks. - "frank"
@christopher94523 None of them are in this line up. If I remember correctly - and I often don't - This lineup includes Gerald Johnson - bass, John King - drums, Dickie Thompson - keyboards
I'm no expert on the line-up. I just loved all their early music. To me Steve Miller and his band had it together so much more than a lot of bands that were around at the time. Just personal preferrence, I suppose... Never got to see them live but I have all their music (and bought most of it twice - records, dvd's). This is a great rock song. Give me a cheeseburger! A great line. Lamar
@emeraldfrog1 Definitely seen SMB many times in my 45 years. I was referring to that GORGEOUS Les Paul he is playing. I was wondering if that was a guitar that LES gave him--his godfather. As a guitar player with several guitars including an amazing Les Paul, I am always interested in stuff like that. CHEERZ! Rock on Steve Miller!

He wrote this in Chicago during the political unrest during the 1968 Democratic National Convention. His message still applies today.
