For the rest of us, When using the "Break Free Powder Blast" on a standard CZ 75b, will that solvent be harmful to the standard grips? If so, what is our alternative to cleaning the frame? I only ask because I read somewhere that the BFPB is not to be used on plastic. Thanks for your help.
@GahBoe The stock grips are either rubber or plastic depending on the model. On the stock rubber, I'be used the break free with no issues. Can't say I tried on it on plastic though. When it doubt, remove it and try a bit on the inside to see if there is any finish wear, etc. Generally, it's the fancy grips that can have issues, wood, ivory, etc.
@pvtjulian Entirely normal. When they go through and parkerize the frame, slide and components, they do it indiscriminantly. As you use the firearm, parts will polish that come in contact with one another and you'll have yourself a self made trigger job. No issues at all.
thanks for the video very helpful is your standard hoppe's is a hoppe's 9 bore cleaner solvent? and is it safe for the polycoat finish for the cz sp01 shadow? thanks
@Xiado A lot of it depends on the ammo too. Even a little bit of dirty ammo can make the gun look excessively abused. Luckily modern gun coating and solvents break right through that.
@humbleshogun Yeah, I put 49 rounds through it earlier, and it was Winchester ammo. I think it's supposed to stench your targets to death, or make the paper jump out of the way of the stink-coated bullet. God, I had to wash my clothes and take two showers to get the stench out. The first time I rinsed my brush, the Hoppe's almost turned black.
@Xiado Winchester White Box (WWB) is most certainly dirty and can clog up the air depending on the air quality in the area you're shooting (indoor or out). Outdoor shooting is ideal or a very very good indoor ventilation.
@humbleshogun Well, yeah, but I have 151 WWB cartridges left, and I believe it would be an EPA violation to use them outdoors. I think I still have some Wolf cartridges from the late nineties that would smell better. Cat urine versus burning roadkill... eh, it's a toss-up.
All the incentive I need to load my own ammunition, I suppose.
The CZ community would love to see a detailed cleaning video of the shadow. I know that the vids take time, but we would really like to see the detailed shadow cleaning video. Thanks for the time and effort you put into your channel --- really appreciated!!!
i got to tell you CLP is great stuff. it works very well for our military's. but i do get what your saying about the oil residue. but it is a good thing. is not the best looking on a shinny gun but it is just doing what its made to do lubricant and protect
@fisherdigital I hear ya. The few times I used it was nasty. The saying goes: CLP is not a good cleaner, lubricant or protector; but it's the only one that does all three. :-)
Nice thanks man

Question: I noticed you changed your grips.

@den331 Roger that on the 9. Safe on the polycoat. The only thing you have to watch out for is wood finishes and grips.

Thanks a bunch! This video was invaluable in showing me how to clean my CZ-75.
OH NOOOO! SO MUCH CRUD! HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?!
I think the previous owner must have the barrel and frame as a trash incinerator, or had used sawdust and gasoline as powder.
