  • @aroundtheworlda its called You can't hold a torch by Busta Rhymes

  • @aroundtheworlda This tape i have titles it 'Turn It Up' by Jaylib Feat. YNQ. but outside of his projects that have been officially released, who knows where these tracks get their names. interestingly enough, the song when Dilla starts speaking saying 'Madlib is the MAN!', the song in the background is actually the ending of the song that plays at 1min. i'll go through my dilla/madlib library later to try and figure out how you can find the youtube clip of that track.

  • @tylerstone1980 Sweet thanks man :)

  • There will never be a better producer/mc collab like Mad and Jay

  • Can someone please tell me the name of that song at the end?

  • @wigsplitter213 the official

  • who the fuck disliked this?!?!

    stupid motherfuckers

  • @JuneBlazeMusic I agree smh

  • agree. All music everywhere is just vibrations. We use different type of notation to define the parameters of those vibrations. Different genres have their own traditional vocabulary and idiomatic structures

WTF?! ytour a fucking robot fuck you listen with your soul, the part of u in ur dreams, the piece that lives on when ur body dies, the motivation to wake up and smoke a bowl idk what the fuck u think ur so smart but the more questions we answer, the more we create.

  • those are plasters from blood tests i guess...

  • I love Jay Electronica, Big K.R.I.T., Nas, J. Cole, Common & Talib Kweli they are a breath of fresh air I also found a underground rapper/producer out of ATL name M.A.J.O.R.S. check him out search itsmajors1 and check out his album promo called "Lights Out".

  • why all the band-aids?

  • @lepoynh i'm only speculating...dilla was constantly working on the mpc so he might have gotten raw fingertips from hittin the the buttons on the drum pad. again, i'm only guessing.

  • @ 0:56 what's the song called? havent heard for daaays and cant find it.

  • @J5TNv its Busta Rhymes - You Cant Hold A Torch on the bing bang i think

  • @J5TNv thats j dilla-smoothness. its the same beat as can't hold a torch, but madlib is on it.

  • "power to the ppl who support raw music" -Wildchild

  • see dudes fingers...that's what happens when you cut records all the time. LOL

  • this is pretty random but....who here has actually seen dilla's hair?

  • @5thElementArts

J had hair back in the day intil the late 90's when he started going bald. That's probably why he's always seen with a cap on his head. I think it was the lupus that did that to him.

  • @OperationDEE u sure he went bald? or did he jus try and experiment?...whateva, i still think James Yancey's scalp is the 10th wonder of the world

  • @5thElementArts

i'm very sure, i even have a picture of him without his cap on. Jay was SHINING Bald.

I read an article saying that he was diagnosed with Lupus back in 2003. But he could have balded earlier though.

  • @5thElementArts look for the slum village fantastic volume 1 or 2 album cover^^

  • @Dschaylizy well yea i knew someone was gonna say that...but u cant really see his full head of hair

  • @5thElementArts

ya he is always wearing a hat

  • @5thElementArts

hes head was bald at this time

  • @5thElementArts fanstic vol. 1 cover album

  • @alhrmodemin yea i know people keep saying that, but thats just kind of a silhouette of his hair.....i mean full color just in the open hat-less Dilla

  • @5thElementArts lmao so true there's a pic where he's getting a haircut, but its not clear watch?v=FMl0efojZEA

  • @5thElementArts or the fantastic album cover

  • Comment removed

  • @5thElementArts check some old SV era pics bro

  • @5thElementArts probably only madlib. maybe doom also

  • @5thElementArts me, its just a shaved head

  • @5thElementArts well i have been fortunate enough to see some personal photos of James and i can say that i have absolutely seen his hair on a few occasions lol. but if you think hard enough, so have you. Jay Dee loved his hats, but if you look at the cover to either Slum Village Fantastic Vol.1 or Vol. 2 you will see him without his cap. aside from that, you're going to have to do some searching to find such a picture. i will not post any pics out of respect for the wonderful Yancey family.

  • @5thElementArts whoa...i never thought of that

  • don't try and test the Champion Sound

  • R.I.P. Jay Dee

  • thatz hot yo hit us up @ BuzzThis.Net

  • @ZimriLahabYahsharala please dont call him that

  • What beat is that at the very end!?!?!? Shit is SICK

  • @Mclean84 J Dilla - The Official

  • @whogotdubs Jaylib*

  • j dilla is good. what is your favorite j dilla beat?

  • You know, I have no idea why Champion Sound gets a bad rap in the spectrum of underground. It's fairly gangster yes, maybe could've been a bit more mellow for Dilla and Madlib at some points, but it's still an insanely good album.

  • it wud be reall useful if sum1 sed all the songs been played in the background, cause ... i kinda want them all lol

  • @RaGInBaLLeR23 Dont know all of em but the ones i do know are . Jaylib - 'smootherness', Jaylib' - the official, J.Dilla, Busta rhymes ' show me what you got'.

  • @BboyHazardous yeah thanx man

  • @RaGInBaLLeR23 Check for Jaylib - Rough Drafts (not to be mistaken with Ruff Draft).. It's the unofficial first version (bootleg) of Champion Sound. Most of the songs we used in this piece derive from it.

  • rest in peace hiphop legend

  • R.I.P Dilla

  • I think the whole white label thing was just a twisted plan by the Stones Throw people to get Dilla on their label. pretty genius if you ask me. As for people dissing Madlib or whatever...let's be serious one second now

before Jaylib he already had soundpieces, the unseen , and 2 (or1.5 for the nitpickers) declaime albums and many EPs produced and had already started ynq. his reputation on the west coast was already well established and solid. he didn't need to steal no Jay Dee beats

  • @chillhood Madlib was producing tracks for Tha Liks in the early 90's even...

  • Comment removed

  • whats the song att 3:12

  • Gone too soon. RIP.

  • I only really found out about jdilla after he died, but noticed most of the tracks i liked were actually produced by him. Shame hes not around anymore - genius and a nice guy.

  • It's a track called "Turn It Up" (ft YNQ) which Busta later used in his song "Can't Hold a Torch." "Turn It Up" was featured on the unreleased Jaylib album called Rough Drafts, which was an earlier version of the Dilla/Madlib collab. Search this video on YouTube: "H&C Class Of '07 Tribute"

  • anyone know what that sweater hes wearing is?

  • I have a question. Does anyone know the collaboration album he's referring to in this interview? I haven't even heard of the album but I know a collaboration between two geniuses should be legendary. If anyone knows, please reply.

  • @Rolexusn Champion Sound is the album that he's referring to. It's a true classic.

  • @glassboy Thanks I downloaded the deluxe edition a few hours ago and I'm loving it. This should have gotten more publicity.

  • this video need subtitles....4 all the people around the world that don't know very much english...I think that this video must be teachin in school to all the future musicians of this world..

  • The thing with dilla and im not saying this because im a massive fan of his work, but he really is a truly good person, you can see it in him. i mean just listen to the soul he puts into his music its crazy!
