Having never played a PRS, my mate has one. I wanna seriously know. Between a Gibson and PRS is there any competition. I mean people have told me than PRS quite good. Are they even anywhere near close to a Gibson?
@Joffa1994 I'd say, for the same price build quality of PRS is better than that of Gibson (I'm not talking about the Custom Shop/Private Stock models which are perfect). Soundwise, it's just the matter of opinion, I like the PRSi more. I have a '95 McCarty and I've never played an LP from the same era (and price) that could beat my guitar. Old Customs, new $3000-6000 Reissues - yes, modern chambered Standards and "weight-relieved" Standards and Customs - not even close.
I own a Randy Rhoads Les Paul custom and a PRS Custom 24 I enjoy playing both guitars equally and trust me they weren't 500 $ guitars either between the two I own about 13gs in guitar.Both have unique characteristics that you can exploit for different tones and sounds, in the end it all comes down to personal preference. Also the fancy dragon inlays (dragoon series) are meant to be show pieces not played guitars

Search for the Premier Guitar Music Man factory tour as well, thats something different. They also put in some pre-arc before sanding the fretboard so it ends up even in radius (no internal stress) after the strings are on.
This really blows my mind. All that CNC & whatever & they don't even bother giving the boards a compound radius! ROFL!! DOOD! Just put the thing in a jig & sand it SIDEWAYS on a FLAT piece of sandpaper, then get the fine scratches out longitudinally. It's not rocket science. Hell Parker even goes a little further & puts a bit of pre-arc in there 2. WTF Oh yeah, PRS, thou$ands overpriced, & action still worse than ASIAN KNOCKOFF CNC competitors =))

PRS QC is top notch, they are the best sounding and playing guitars in the world.
i managed to play a left handed prs at a music show in london not so long ago, and im not going to lie, it was one of the best experiences of my life, you can really feel all of the work that goes into the guitars.
PRS look gay, they look like shit , but they sound good. Anyway, gibson is way better, gibson knows how to make guitars look good ,PRS gives a shit about how they look.

I have a SE and i can still feel a great deal of quality in the guitar and the finish on the top is just like they do the american ones only their not carved the top still shows like its a prs this is the best guitar manafacturer ever.
@YongYDG yes their great I just got one used and they are totally worth it the only flaw I noticed in cosmetics on the se was the fact that around the neck area where it connects to the body its alot splochy. However mine is a sold black on the back of the guitar so they spray paint, where as the clear ones are hand painted so you wouldnt see this probably on the ones with a transparent finish.
@guitarfreakRSS the therm your looking for is stained finish:D and yeah the only issue with this neck it that prs in SKorea i guess filed it jst a tab so it look alittle funny but i dyed the frett bored dark brown blackish color so you cant tell. and i put some gibson tuners does the job right and im acctually selling this prs for a better one!

They make SE models which are alot cheaper than signature and hard bodied PRS, but play really nice. see if ya can try one of those out. also alot of the exspensive PRS guitars come with the Pearl Bird Inlays.
@edwsshaw1 it will say se on it and generally the american ones have a carved top where as most se's dont. Se stands for starter edition so thats how youll know.

@ iselldummysmacks - where on earth did you get 95% from? after watching this, the gibson factory tour, and the fender tour...prs seems to have the most care with their products during the hands on part. i own all three and can say my prs is the best guitar i've ever owned. gibson's are not any more cost realistic than prs's. fenders are cheaper cuz much less goes into them. tele's are literally just a slab of wood. standard prs to standard les paul are right on point with eachother.
its expensive because it goes through alot of processes and then they sell the guitars to a retailer which needs to make a profit which increases prices + Tax and all that rubbish

GREAT VIDEO THE WORK MAKES FENDER LOOK LIKE CRAP IT IS SO GOOD TO SEE AN AMERICAN FACTORY PRODUCING GOODS OF SUCH QUALITY i AM SO SICK OF CHINESE EVERYTHING YOU CAN SEE THE WORKERS DON'T HAVE THEIR HEART IN THEIR WORK AND YOU CAN SEE THE WORKERS AT PRS DO HAVE THEIR HEARTS IN IT. I HOPE THAT PRS IS NOT TAKEN OVER BY ONE OF THE BIGGER COMPANIES LIKE IN THE 60'S BALDWIN PIANO BOUGHT OUT FENDER AND MOSERITE AND OTHERS AND STARTED MAKING THEM IN OTHER COUNTRIES.

@bbshooter1221 i disagree. you're paying for the best wuality guitars. watch the interview iwht paul and he explains all the amazingly finite details they put into them. yes they are expensive but you are getting the best qualty instruments out there

I have a SE and i can still feel a great deal of quality in the guitar and the finish on the top is just like they do the american ones only their not carved the top still shows like its a prs this is the best guitar manafacturer ever.

@YongYDG the Korean made SE series are great, at lest as good as les paul studio at a very reasonable price.

@YongYDG yes their great I just got one used and they are totally worth it the only flaw I noticed in cosmetics on the se was the fact that around the neck area where it connects to the body its alot splochy. However mine is a sold black on the back of the guitar so they spray paint, where as the clear ones are hand painted so you wouldnt see this probably on the ones with a transparent finish.

@guitarfreakRSS the therm your looking for is stained finish:D and yeah the only issue with this neck it that prs in SKorea i guess filed it jst a tab so it look alittle funny but i dyed the frett bored dark brown blackish color so you cant tell. and i put some gibson tuners does the job right and im acctually selling this prs for a better one!

PRS are great guitars.

@edwsshaw1 dude... I would HIGHLY consider getting one if you can afford. they are amazing guitars. I just bought a PRS MCcarty II about a month ago. if you have ever played one, you would understand why they are so costly! there amazing lookers, and sound amazing. and really easy to play

@ZOSO1937 I played one in a shop and it was real nice. It was $600 used, but there is a problem: This was an early Santana made in Asia. So, how do you tell the real PRS from the others? My friend owns one and he whispers, "This isn't a real one." Can I get a real one for $1500 If so, what do you call it? Thanks
For background purposes, my regular is a Gibson Howard Roberts. Meaning,
I'm not rich, but won't waste my money on low priced stuff.

@edwsshaw1 ah i see. well i bought mine brand new, set me back £1,900! its beautiful. You will be able tell an expsensive one from a cheaper one. They make SE models which are alot cheaper than signature and hard bodied PRS, but play really nice. see if ya can try one of those out. also alot of the exspensive PRS guitars come with the Pearl Bird Inlays.

@edwsshaw1 it will say se on it and generally the american ones have a carved top where as most se's dont. Se stands for starter edition so thats how youll know.

I had a beautiful Santana III Whale Blue Bird-in-lays Ten Top 24 frett and a PRS Custom 22" Amber Yellow. Bird-in Lays Ten Top. They are very awesome sounding guitars using Mesa Boogie amp.

@ iselldummysmacks - where on earth did you get 95% from? after watching this, the gibson factory tour, and the fender tour...prs seems to have the most care with their products during the hands on part. i own all three and can say my prs is the best guitar i've ever owned. gibson's are not any more cost realistic than prs's. fenders are cheaper cuz much less goes into them. tele's are literally just a slab of wood. standard prs to standard les paul are right on point with eachother.

actually the BIGGEST waste of money ive seen in a gibson guitar would be a 10,000 dollar guitar that takes one year to make

its expensive because it goes through alot of processes and then they sell the guitars to a retailer which needs to make a profit which increases prices + Tax and all that rubbish
