  • I have very sore in my kidney and pelvis on unt.sound nothig showedup! what does it mean ?

  • One morning I woke up and everything seemed fine but an hour passed and the side of my back along with the stomach was hurting very very bad. It felt like a horible stomach cramp in my back but so bad I don't know how to describe it. I was also throwing up every 10 or 20 minutes and that seemed like the only thing that helped the pain. So I called the doctor and he did an x-ray. He found 8 of them in the Kidney and one that was stuck in the tube. It took me about 4 days to pass it.

  • ok, appearantly, i had a small one not that long ago, and it was a painful little bastard, but thank god it was small

  • I passed one today. It was quick, but so painfull I thought a terrorist crawled inside me, and blew himself up taking out a few innocent organs. I swor id never make fun of a womans peroid again, yea it was that painfull. It sucked. I learned my lesson. Karma is a bitch, I got that loud an clear. So drink water, not soda. water, not sports drinks, no processed foods, all natural. I got the message...

  • So, in other words, when you have a stone, don't drink water?

  • @NumberNile when you have a stone go to the hospital. if it's anything like what i had, you probably won't be able to keep down much water...

  • I HAVE MSK I HAVE 100'S OF STONES pass weekly ,I so sick all the time for two weeks i passing stones out of kidney on each side,it's crazy, now my joins are killing and my arm feel heavy like weights on them,i was at er once this week,i don't want to go again!!

  • Thank you all for your comments. We have filmed several patient testimonials and physician interviews on Kidney Stones and Kidney Health but they aren't available on YouTube. Watch now at HealththeaterDOTcom (select Health Topic - Kidney Health)

  • so the stone in the ureter doesn't cause the pain just the backed up urine. I'm sorry I totaly disagree witht his.

  • Being a handicapped person, I have many problems. But I thank god this isn't one of them. I surely couldn't take that sort of pain.

  • wow ive had kidney stones since i was 17 and im 22 now and i dont get pain meds when i go to the e.r i gotta wait 4 hours most the time or sum ungodly time in pain and docs wont do anything till i get a cat scan done x.x

  • @tjw3128: There is a naturopathic approach that will remove them.

  • hey,,,i had 7mm stone in left side kidney.,,but i desolved it in 2 month...in my sonography report there is no stone,,,,i happend by ....1drinking 5 litre water daily,,2)no fried, juncked food,no mutton,,no calcium and colestroll food,,daily yoga, pranayam and special aasana for stone one month,,,and lastly daily 3 leaves of patther chatta(indian) and kulith daal boiled water,,,,,,,hey guys if u like to know in detail do call me on +919833550395...i wl happy to help u...

  • O wow,, after all these descriptions, I'm giving up soda for sure and drinking up to a gallon of water a day. When I drink allot of soda in a day I start getting kidney pain sometimes. I talked to someone who got them allot and he told me that a doctor at UF told to drink a gallon of water a day and you'll never have a kidney stone again.

  • Had pain in my front left side, dropped me to my knees. Paramedics that came to my home were very rude and wouldn't even put me on a stretcher. He was telling me that I could control the pain and he woudnt give me any pain reliever. Same with the nurse, very rude yelled at me, gave no pain med etc. But they ran a test and found I had a kidney stone, then FINALLY stopped treating me like a drug seeker and given demerol and sent me home with oxycodone and thomethazine. I was treated VERY poorly.

  • my dad waited 40 mins in the hospital with that horrible pain before he was given any pain management.

  • @ExNihiloJimmy: There a natrupathic approach for this problem, I will leave it posted for a few days on my channel.

  • I've passed two stones and the pain is excruciating. The only relief I get is an injection of Toradol, STAT! The pain hits like a freight train and there is now way in hell to get comfortable. I'm looking forward to the next one, which I am told should be in my future. Just remember, TORADOL works.

  • @whirlwindshadow: Why don't you try a herbal combination?

  • @4chango I've been drinking lots of lemonade. I've been told that works really well. Anyway, I've got to have a prostate biopsy next month. The fun never ends!

  • @whirlwindshadow: Well first there is a complete naturopathic approach for stones on my channel in the comment section - lemonade is not enough to break stones. Also as for the biopsy is it due to the belief of cancer. If so there will be a naturopathic approach for cancer posted later on my channel. Keep in mind that currently I am only taking questions and requests from my subscrbers only. It is only fair. There is also a regimen for an enlarge prostate. Thanks

  • It's like trying to piss a sea urchin depending on the type and size of stone. I had one lodged for 8 weeks and it was 9mm. Yes, 9 #@$&% mm! And the stent they put in clogged and they didn't know. So my kidney ended up rupturing, and THAT people, is pain that I cannot even begin to describe any other way except comparing it to a bone marrow biopsy.

  • I was diagnosed with a 6mm stone in January 2009 but I am unemployed and have no insurance so cannot have the procedure done to remove it. The emergency room bill was $4500 and took me a year to pay even with their $1400 discount. I have been lucky not to have anymore pain for about a year until the other day and the pain came back in full force sending me to the ER again. This time they gave me an I.V. pain medication and antibiotics for a UTI I now have. The CAT scan shows my kidneys are OK.

  • $4500, and they didn't even remove it? I hope Obama's plan helps people in your situation.

  • @Selukanati: Take a look at the naturopathic regimen I give my clients.

  • I Found Out A While Ago That I Had A 5mm Stone That I Had To Pass On My Own.. It Sucks.. The Pain Is IMMENSE.

  • I dont know about you guys, but as soon as i got on the meds all the pain goes away, but the time between when the pain starts and you fill your perscription is hell on earth! I just wanted to die.

  • my b/f has kidney stones and he got his cat scan and its 2mm. he is throwing up really bad and popped blood vessels in his face :o( i gave him some ginger ale and he has nausea medicine but it doesnt work to good. Does anyone get this and wat could i do to make him fe4el better ? :o(

  • I'm in Canada and the waiting list for kidney stone surgery is awful! I've had my stone for 2 months now trying to pass it, 6mm x 3mm 4 trips to Emerg and counting

  • I feel your pain buddy, 2 years ago when I had my stone, my doctor refused to refill my T3's and gave me trouble about getting me booked to soundblast them.

Eventually after 7 weeks he agreed to send me to a CT scan, but the day before I went i passed it.

Hold in there and keep pounding back the water and pain killer's, eventually it will come.

  • i just found out i had these about three days ago. this is the most horrendous pain i have felt. they want me to pass it naturally. so far now it has been a week since the onset of pain. how long do they take to pass?

  • From the descriptions ive heard, I hope I never get one.

  • Im hoping when my stones pass they dont hurt too bad, mine are pretty small at 3.5mm and going to the bathroom has yet to hurt but ive been having incrediable pain for atleast 3 days now

  • the pain is when the stone travel's from the kidney to the bladder, once it reaches there you probably wont even feel it when you pee it out.

  • i wouid not wish a kidney stone attack on bush, they really really bad

  • If you mean the former Pres. Bush.........I would!!

  • i know right lollllllllllllll

  • I was just diagnosed with a 4-5 inch staghorn kidney stone. So sucks!!! The pain is terrible, I would rather be in hard labor at times. They are going to do a surgery called Percutaneous nephrolithotomy. (sounds like the keyhole method?) I feel for anyone who has had a kidney stone.

  • Unfortunately I was give the horrible news that my stones were small enough to pass naturally. for 1 week I knew pain on a scale most don't even wish to fathom. And when they finally passed well, the thought of pissing fire comes to mind.

  • @radaious: Try herbs.

  • Can the kidney stone be extracted from the kidney before the it trys to pass through the ureter?

  • some kidney stones can be removed from the kidney via keyhole surgery, but it depends on where abouts in the kidney your stones are located. I cannot have this surgery as my stones are in the muscle linings of the kidney and they can only be removed if they are in the centre of the kidney and just before they travel into the ureter. This is what my surgeon told me 3 days ago during my last consultation as i also asked this very question. Hope this helps

  • Thank you! yes it does help. Since the stones that I have are very small according to the sonogram I'm going to try to pass them with gods help. I changed my diet maybe that will help for the future. I purchased these pills called renavive that supposed to help with passing stones lets see how effective they are. Pray for me thanks.

  • As another individual who has had to pass them naturally, You are in my prayers.

  • Thank You.

  • My aunt had a kidney stone, and the Dr couldn't believe how big it was, they compared it to a quarter, and the stone was BIGGER then the quarter, so the Dr called it a golf ball sized rock. So to get it out they had to break it up with a laser type thing while it was still in her, and then after that they did the surgery to go in and get it all out.

I mean you could just see in her eyes the pain that she was in cause the thing wouldn't even move to much it was so big.

  • i hope i never get this, but lemons are a cure for kidney stones. if you drink lemon juice

  • hydrangea root and marshmellow root have been proven to relieve pain assoc. with kidney stones within minutes, and will dissolve most stones within a few days for only about $25 dollars,, u decide

  • im 14 now and when i was 9 i had kidney stones right side and left side lots of pain and when i was 11 i had kidney stones again on the left side

  • i'm 40 and had kidney stones for the last 4 years, nov 08 i started with my last attack. It has been discovered that i am creating stones at an alarming rate, to the fact that ive had 17 stones at the same time. Ive had 3 different stents placed and removed after 12 week, 5 surgerys to remove stones from the ureta, my last surgery was fri 14/8/09 when they found the stent had calcified and buried into the kidney, ureta and bladder, there is no pain like kidney stone pain and life is hell

  • im 12 and i had lithotripsy done i had eutorioscopy how ever u spell i had at stent put in my stone was 2cm not mm cm i had kidney stones since i was 8 i had about 6 kidney stones i cant keep track anymore im writing this with my kidney hurting but i learned to take the pain a lil bit

  • Wait, Is the pain caused by the sharp stone cutting thriugh the urinary system, Or is it the swelig kidney or both?

  • uhhh this doctor says when its in ur kidney u have no pain..n that the pain starts when it falls into the ureter??? NO..i wonder if he's ever had a kidney stone..ive had several..n now have a staghorn...there is constant pain..b.c mine is about 4 CM not mm n can only be removed surgically

  • what is the drug that is giving?

sounds like a miralce made in heaven

  • The best thing is to see a urologist and he will give you the right instructions.

Hope you'll get better and wish you a stone-free future(I do not believe in such thing in my case-my renal colic has not yet occurred and I am still very worried about when that will kindly surprise me in the middle of my sleep)

  • i'm 15 with my first kidney stone.

i haven't passed it yet, but the pain i've felt today has been excruciating..i don't even want to know how bad it feels to pass it..

  • passing a stone can be extremely painful unfortunately. In 2002 I passed a 4 mm calcium oxalat stone(I peed it out)and the pain was excruciating-but I still can not decide which is worse:a renal colic or the feeling of passing a stone....they hurt in different ways and both are extremely intense pain:((((

My apology for the bad news. Most of the time it is even more painful for men(the stone has to cover a longer distance-since men have longer ureters:((

  • yeah, i figured that. :/

i'm past the stage where it passes from the kidney to the bladder, and that was intense pain.

this happend last night, when should i be passing it or whatever?

  • when I was in your state,it took a couple of hours to get rid of that stone.I count myself lucky that it did not last for days!

For some people it can take days-sometimes weeks to pass the stone in your state.

  • it's been about 2-3 days. : /

  • it feels like a baby is coming out... want some help? drink a whole cup of real lemon juice per hour.. it dissolves it a bit fast a a slight bit of less pain! im 13 and ive gone through it..! good luck =]

  • yeah, it's long gone now.

i didn't have to pass a stone because it dissolved.

i only had to pass sand or whatever the name of it is, very lucky on my part.

  • I'm 29 & began having kidney stones when I was 16. I've now had 5 & it's getting pretty old. In my case it's genetic, from my dad. The doc failed to mention that in rare cases the kidney will try to force the kidney stone out into the ureter, but it can't because the stone is too large to exit. Then, it just knocks around, scars up the kidney, & never makes it into the ureter. The pain is pure hell. Each time I get one, it does this, & then I have to get an Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy.

  • its not genetic even if your doc says so.

you have to decalcifie your body and to do that its important to get rid of the bilders who bild the stones and they are called NANOBACTERIA,google it,

And watch here on youtube DAVID WOLFE on CALCIUM. take care.

  • I'm a 27 year-old female and I had kidney stones for the first time several months ago. It was such horrible pain that it was unbelievable. I chose to get laser stone ablation surgery and it made things so much better.

  • i knew this kid who was 19 and has had 4 stones already

  • ive had kidney stones once before, and i tell u somthing... its the worst physical pain you could possibly experience, and its like pissin razor blades when you got too pass them, i wouldnt wish the pain on anybody, i didnt think pain like that existed lol

  • I'm serious here- Doe's anyone get penis pressure, it's like the end off your penis hurts and always feels uncomfortable. I'm talking way before the Kid Stone moves down.

  • In our Hospital, they prove you have a kidney stone first, then you get pain meds. This may take several hours All because of hundreds of narcotic seekers. Pisses me off. This is Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. The worst hospital in the world.

  • Have a Kidney Stone that is too big to pass? Drink pure squeezed lemon juice (1oz + 8 oz of water) every hour for 12 hours. The acid in the juice dissolves calcium stones.

  • im 16 male and have had 5 kidney stones since june and i drink a lot of water too, idk y i get them, the pain feels like your getting stabbed, i throw up a lot too wen i get them, i just hope i dont have to deal with this for the rest of my life =/

  • You will unless you find the right diet.

  • Hi. What would you say is a good diet to deal with kidney stones? Thanks.

  • I diet thats low in calcium and oxycilates, which usually is the hardner of calcium stones. NO ice cream and Tea.

  • @Hatchetman6971 I have also given up on drinking the small packets of crystal light that you can mix in a bottle of water. I don't know for sure, but since I started putting those in my bottles of water, I have had two kidney stones. I've read the labels and most contain calcium, in one form or another. Definately, stay away from the tea. I was knocking back about a gallon a tea and have stopped doing so since the last stone. Good luck to anyone who has a stone in your future.

  • i just had my 6th stone attack about 2 weeks ago. i was in the OR 2 days later to get it removed. 2nd surgery in 2 months, my 5th stone they had to remove also. It's the most painful and every time i get that flank pain my lower back i know whats going on and i start to panic lol. i feel for all of us kidney stone sufferers.

  • I've just had my fourth proceedure since Sept 4th 08. I have had so many stones one of them was 12mm. I so tired and even passing the "sand" is painful...my poor kidneys

  • well said doctor. YahoO!

  • Everything this doc said is 100% true and is exactly what happened to me.

The pain was so bad that I was moaning involuntarily for about 20 minutes straight as I waited for the doc in the ER to examine me. It's kind of like the feeling of when you have really bad diarrhea cramps at night and you can't sleep, except add in a sharp knife and times the whole thing by 10. Also, with diarrhea cramps, you can at least find a more comfortable position. With this you can't.

  • everythinh YOU said is 100% true, i have 2 stones, it´s like having a knife, no wait, 2 knifes

  • I hope you pass those stones soon. Hang in there. Drink as much water as you can and take whatever medicine the doc tells you to. Mine came out within 24 hours of feeling the first pains, so I was luckier than most. Some people live with them for days or weeks.

  • stupid melemine!!!

yes that stuff that they put in chiniese milk check out jeepersmedia for more info

  • i just found ou i have one 2 centimeters long.they wanted to keep me in the hospital but my dumm ass left cause i know what im in for.they said it was to big to pass .man this is gonna be rough.wish me luck

  • good luck :)

  • dang. this seems really intense. i never knew about such a thing, only saw it on animal planet in dogs where they scooped out these rock like things. Is "passing" it the only way to get it out of your system? and how does it form? is this genetic? how does one get it again??? i cannot imagine how much pain this is... a rock pebble passing thru the pepe.. i think i would rather get shot.

  • its not painfull coming out of the penis, the pain is when it travels from your Kidney's to your Bladder, imagine trying to get a Razor blade down something the width of a few strands of hair that is made out of Nerve endings.

When I had my stone, I had no one around to help me, and no phone to call an ambulance. I had considered crawling a mere 10 meters to grab a boxcutter to cut my own throat the pain was so bad, the only problem was I couldnt make the journey to the knife from the pain

  • Kidney stones actually is one of the most painful thing a man can experience. I had my ESWL last February 2008 and another session last May 7. I had a ureter stent inserted to me last April 30 and has given me lots of discomfort.

  • I passed my first stone last week. I started feeling pain my last day in London on a trip I was on. I didn't think anything of it until it hit me like a train at the airport. Stupid me got on the plane anyway and had the worst 9 hour flight in history. I honestly was hoping the plane would crash so the pain would stop.

  • I just passed a stone yesterday and even when i went to the emergency room, the morphine they gave me honestly felt like it did little for me because it was so painfull

  • 86 i feel for ya... i just gave birth to my 20th or so kidney stone a few minutes ago.... it's the first stone i've had in about 5 yrs... i've been drinking atleast a gallon a day and that helps.. i guess not all the time unfortunately....

  • @vw86gti I just went to the ER via a 911 call.. 9/12/10 there was no way I could dive and nobody was home or even near home. I had a small one 2mm by 1.5mm .. but that little evil monster had me on my knees begging for death or any kind of relief. these things are without a doubt the worse pain EVER.!

they compare it to childbirth on a pain level.. yes even woman say the same as far as pain level.!! last chance. drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water PER DAY as You DON'T want to get ONE.!!

  • @kb7010 We were moving back to our home state on the east coast. We had gone back east when I had colic. An 8mm stone had passed all the way down to my ureter. It was on the weekend. The Dr. did surgery on Sunday due to 3 other patients like me. Then a few months later we were back at our home on t he plains. Another 8mm stone on Saturday all you that have had stones can appreciate the fact that I passed an 8mm stone. Unbelievable! I can't even believe it but it was easy after it was in bladder

  • @kb7010 I know 2 women who had colic & birth pains already started. ONe woman had her tubes tied for that one in a trillion that it could happen again. The other lady should have known better. It is a metabolic disorder that manifests itself as a kidney stone. I doubt that drinking a lot of water will lessen frequency. I can tell you from experience if you know you have several in one/both kidneys those tend to dislodge and start that long road to your bladder.

  • @nor888vast695 I understand but yet DON'T yet don't understand U'r comment? I am just giving info found from web MD.. etc.. ie: drink a lot of water as which I am doing now.... or flush the system so to speak.. guess what.. I have now passed 5 of those evil little monsters as of now.! I am ONLY trying to help people not hurt them. how in the world is bottled water going to hurt people..? heck I drink Gatorade also.... I am looking forward to you answer to the bottled water question..!!!!!!

  • @kb7010 You haven't had many KS have you? My brother-in-law and I have both had 5 open surgeries that doesn't count ESWL & Laproscopic or basket. There's nothing wrong with telling people how you've been instructed to do or what works for you. You can drink water till it comes out of your ears and yes you will probably pass some. I have done this. Guess what after 44 years I am still having KS. This whole month I kept passing blood. They couldn't find it on x-ray that's why they have done nothin

  • @nor888vast695 to answer your question no i HAVEN'T..but I STILL don't understand what in the heck you want from me..? maybe to brag about you have had more than me.? look at your diet..? our personal lawyer is what is known as a " makers " has a bottle of them,in fact his Kidneys are on stage 3. I give up on you.to the other people.trust me.drink alot of water water. sorry if MY ADVICE bothers you Nor888vast695.. but at least I am trying to HELP others.unlike you that just wants to slam on me

  • @nor888vast695 You know what.???? never mind. I know what I went through... I am ONLY giving people advice and it is to be taken as such...

so a JMO ONLY... and you can keep yours as it seems you NEVER had a Kidney Stone problem.. I really hope you you don't.. but I promise you.. if you do.. you will HOPEFULLY be just like myself.. and trying to at least help others with a MAJOR pain problem.. look it up UTube... the pain is worse than child birth as per so many

woman it is not even funny

  • No one can know what this pain feels like, it is truly a pain from hell. I passed my second stone a few months back and it took 3 weeks to pass from the time i found out i had it. The stone blocked off my urine flow and i would throw up from swallowing my saliva. I would advise anyone that has it to pass it by themselves. Go to the hospital, get hooked up to morphine, take the vicodin home and hang in there. The alternative will leave you soar for days.

  • ive had 1 so far, damn that hurt. trying to work on staying away from pop now!!

  • does anyone know if there is a way to find out if u have any in yer kidney(b4 it gets to the track) and if ya can is there anything u can do ahead of time so it dosent hafta pass???????

  • Hi had stones for years, The only way you can tell if you have stones before they get to the ureata is keeping check of your your urine to see if its got blood in it. But if you got a stone on its way all you can do is drink lots of fluids and hope it passes Quickly.

  • I'm 23, and had my first kidney stone on Saturday (2/23/2008). Most physically painful thing I've ever experienced. Had to go to the Emergency Room. This sucks, because now I'll probably suffer from them my whole life. What's even worse is that I eat healthy (I'm a vegetarian), drinks LOTS of water, and get lots of exercise. Plus, no one in my family has had them! So I'm left wondering... why ME??!!! :-(

  • I am writing this the evening that I had lithotrypsy performed. I am 37 years old and had my first stone when I was 28. I have had roughly 50 stones in that time. Todays procedure was to shatter 4 stones. These are the most painful thing that a man can have.

  • I've made a few videos talking about my experiences with kidney stones... head over to my page and ask me some questions (I'm only 23 and I've had 6 stones!)

  • I have had 3 kidney stones, several urinary tract infections, and a kidney infection. Kidney stones are extremely painful.

  • @BrainyLaney1994: Try certain herbs - for the stones and infection.

  • my mom has kidney infection, can that lead to some thing more dangerous??? she had a nonstop cold.

  • yeah i have the same as you blueracer, and i really hope that they stay put!!

  • now i know what kidney stones are.. thanks

  • guarantee most painful thing i ever experienced hahah

  • I have kidney stones but they are too big to pass.

  • oy, you have my condolences
