After you export 3ds from sketchup you should use a program like Anim8or to correct the shading on the dark faces.

@enfynet thanks yeah that sounds like a good idea :) but now ive started using different modeling programs that can do more things, + they have better lighting engines (3d max and cinema 4d)

I know a lot of other people have asked this but when export from pro and bring it into NL some of the sides are blacked out. I have tried to do some of the stuff that I've read in other comments but nothing seems to work. Could someone please help me?

what you most likely have to do is reverse the sides the are coming out black by right clicking them on sketchup. If that doesnt work its probably no limits because of the different shadow engine it has from sketchup (they dont work together very well)

Ok, everytime i import cs to no limits, only a few faces have colour, the others are just different shades of grey. please helpp i spent ages on cs lol

Make sure your faces are facing the correct way. Go to view then down to face style and select monochrome. Right click on any face and go to reverse faces and it should switch between blue and white (blue=exterior white=interior) make sure it is white and then reapply the texute wanted to the face. Then export.

i have worked with google sketchup and no limits. I export my objects into no limits with textures, however in the simulator the textures are changed into different ones that are also in my model but i n other 3ds (ex: roofs turning into carpets) If this has happened to anyone or if anyone knows what to do plz reply thank you.

you can see (where the pencil is), there was a line that wasnt there, so i had to draw one. that completed the shape, which made the wall appear, beacuse you can only have full shapes if there are no gaps.

I got the hang of making the objects but I can't seem to get them with my coasters. I did evrything in the video and then when I open the object and click to place it, it says that it cannot load the object. I don't have the sketchup pro. I have the normal version. Do I need to have pro in order to make the objects appear with my coasters?

i think so. I assume what you did is you went to export it and exported it as something other than 3ds? because you dont have that option in the normal sketchup. only in sketchup pro can you export it as a 3ds, which is what you need for no limits.

the problem is you only have the basic sketchup, and not sketchup PRO. One of the earlier comments describes how to get pro.

1 Problem with this Tut.

when a face in sketchup is blue, it will be invisible in NL. to fix, right click the face thats blue, then click reverse face.
